good pricing, 10⁄10 atmosphere. Interesting food choices and really good service

My husband and I had our wedding reception outdoors at the Teahouse, and it was beyond our expectations! Everything looked beautiful. The service was wonderful, and the food was absolutely delicious. It was also a pleasure working with the manager, Matt. He made sure we were well taken care of! We couldn’t be happier with the way things turned out!

My daughter and I stopped in for an afternoon tea but decided to eat a late lunch early dinner. We each enjoyed a tea inspired cocktail, an appetizer, then delicious entrees. The décor alone is worth the experience. The service was exceptional and the food was surprisingly delicious and very thoughtfully prepared! What a treat for both of us.

*raises hand* Tea fanatic here! In conjunction with working with Boulder Tea company teas they make their own chai concentrate. This one of the best places to enjoy tea and food regardless of tea knowledge and level of thy hunger. The atmosphere is different depending on the time of day and which meal you were there for. This was my second visit and it was a drastically different experience. The first time I went was for brunch. They sat us next to central area by the fountain. The ambiance was more casual and light. The food was brought a similar feeling. Good food with worldly tastes enveloped in a warm welcoming scent. I had a traditional american breakfast but everything was cooked well. My date had a less traditional brunch plate. i cant remember what it was called but all i can remember is that it tasted great. My second time there was with a larger group. it was for dinner and it was a different experience. The ambiance was more a little bit more formal and romantic but still a bit lighter than a dinner date venue. I had the house chai and was disappointing because i like my chai a little spicier. the house chai is very sweet; like what you would get from your local coffee chain. The food was amazing. all our food was cooked very well with many flavors mixing in the dish. final thoughts: Beautiful venue, light atmosphere, top notch food and tea. meh house Chai,

What a treat! We came in here as a recommendation from our friend and we are so glad we did! The teahouse is handcarved and the colors are eye-popping the place is so cute and quaint. The teahouse was a gift to Boulder. Our server gave us an entire history lesson as to how this place came about. for food we ended up eating the crispy noodles and the beef. Mrysouka? My spelling is horrible I definitely don’t remember. The tea is amazing! There are so many choices :) my heart was so happy. I can’t wait to go back!

The most wonderful tea place I have seen so far. What a treasure of art and oasis of peace and good food. I learned the history of the place just at the Denver airport, reading about things to do in Boulder, and when I read about all the pieces came from a sister city in Tajikistan and saw the colors and patterns I said to myself: I can pass the snow, I won’t leave Boulder without having a jasmine tea under that roof! The decorations are simple amazing, luxurious yet with zero fuss. You can have a stellar tea time with friends or a different romantic time with your date. It feels very intimate even though is not so small. I guess during the summer is even more lovely, as there is a patio outside and with flowers and sun the scene can be captivating. As per teas, they serve more than 100 varieties and, believe it or not, the server knew exactly what to suggest me when I decided I did not want just jasmine tea, but I wanted it with a touch of licorice if that existed. They have all the combinations you can imagine. Prices are good and brunch food was excellent for me. I loved the colorful tables with metal top, where you can play chess if you want. If you are into taking nice selfies or duelfies, this is your place. I took tons of pics of myself from all angles, any background was photo perfect. Take the pics before you eat, because with that much selection of ‘world food’ you can get exhausted soon!

Beautiful place. The menu selection is vast and varied with dishes from all over the world(samosa and curry from India, burrata from Italy, bibimbap from Korea…), and an entire separate menu of tea variations. The service SUCKS. And it hinders completely on the atmosphere and magic of the place. When we arrived, we asked for a table for two, to which the hostess responded there would be a 20 minute wait, when about half of the restaurant’s tables were empty. We waited at the bar and ordered tea. I ordered a flowering red hibiscus with jasmine from their blossoming collection, which had me excited. Instead, I got this whimpery thing served in a WINEGLASS, with mumbled instructions from the bartender.(Wtf?) When we were just about to approach the hostess and point her to three empty tables for two just in our vacuity, she came by and directed us to a table for four. Our waitress hovered around us excitedly, and kept asking if we are okay. At one point, we replied by asking: «we are. But, are you?» To which she replied: «oh sorry! Yes, I’m just bored.»(HOWISTHERE A TABLEWAIT?) The food was pretty good, but everything else just undermined it. It no longer looked like the majestic castle that it is from the outside, especially after visiting the restroom and leaving in shock that it looked as if it was meant to be at a major bus terminal rather than a tea house flown from Uzbekistan. Tainted as a tourist attraction. I hope this place gets its act together because it’s pretty special.

Everything we ordered was fantastic! The staff is attentive and knowledgeable. Chandler was our server and she was adorable and accommodating. I’m only visiting for 10 days and plan to go back again to try the other menus besides the Sunday brunch. My best friend who lives in the area looks forward to bringing her in-laws soon! Spread the word this is a great place to eat or have tea. :)

My favorite brunch spot in Boulder, hands down. If I am craving a good, hearty breakfast, I always get the American Breakfast: bacon, sausage, cheese eggs, potatoes, house made pop tart. The HOUSEMADEPOPTART is pretty much the reason I get it. Sometimes I get it à la carte if I am getting something else. It is the perfect mix of tart and fruit sweetness, and a buttery, flaky crust without added sugar in the crust. I pair this with the house-made chai with soy. I opt for hot versus cold chai, because I feel like it has a richer flavor when served hot(I have had the cold chai here and feel it gets too watery-tasting too quick).

Beautiful inside and out! The history of the building is enough to take a trip into this unique Tajik teahouse. My mom, God rest her soul, had told me so many times about this wonderful teahouse and I decided to take my Fiancé and my son here on her birthday this year to celebrate her. There was a long wait(40 min) at the door so definitely reserve a table in advance, but there was ample seating space to wait and marvel at the amazing interiors and study up on the history of the building. I think we were skipped over a few times, but we finally were seated at a beautiful table.
The food was decidedly Middle Eastern, Persian, Tajik and North African. The tea list was of course extensive and the waiter was very kind and answered any questions we had about the menu and teas. We ordered the samosas to start with and the house chai, delicious! The samosas were handmade and filled with potato and peas, and had a sweet and tart chutney and yogurt sauce accompanying. I ordered the Med. Salad plate and was really impressed with the dolmas, really some of the best I have ever had. My son had the Moroccan spiced chicken and my Fiancé had the meatballs and Spanish shrimp. All the dishes were divine but took awhile to come out to us. Overall, a great experience and a wonderful treat on a cold winters day!

Amazing food and a delightful ambiance with colorful ornate carvings on the walls. I had tea and little snacks, and then returned the next day for afternoon tea. I really like it!

Over the past several years, the teahouse has always been my favorite spot in the entire Colorado, and is therefore very well deserved to receive my first-ever Unilocal review. Tea: Five stars. A variety of high-quality tea options with very reasonable prices. Food: Four stars. An ideal place for Asian Fusion brunch. Ambience: Five stars. In fact, I would give seven stars if I could. Service: Five stars. Our waiter was very patient and knows the menus very well. Overall: Five stars. I highly recommend this place for brunch or afternoon tea with family and friends. In addition to its exquisite Persian-style interior decoration and unique story behind, the tea house offers a very exotic food menu and a wide selection of premium tea. When we arrived at 9am on a Sunday, there were still quite a few tables available. People started to line up after 10am though, so reservations might be helpful in busy hours. I ordered the Hungarian Beleada, which was delicious and very rich in flavor. I particularly enjoyed the green hot sauce, which, according to the waiter, was hand-made by its sister restaurant. For tea, we ordered two pots of the Moroccan Mint Tea and the Organic Rooibos to share. I have to say the Rooibos was fantastic! I ended up buying a 4-oz bag of that, so I can continue to enjoy back home in California. I’d be happy to come back here anytime I visit Colorado in the future.

Had an early dinner here tonight. My bf and I are visiting for the night visiting a friend. My suggestion… Come early. Most menu items were sold out. If you love spicy foods… This may be your cup of tea. I’m sensitive to spicy foods so it was a rough dining experience for me. I had the blue moon tea with milk and honey. Chocolate crêpe wasn’t anything special. About a 25 minute wait on a Sunday afternoon. Service is slow. I had high hopes seeing the reviews on Unilocal. Maybe just stick to tea???

Came here years ago when I would visit my now husband in college. We loved the unique seating with the pillows(not chairs) where you could put your feet up and the beautiful interior that was brought to Boulder from Tajikistan and pieced together. We came back on a recent trip for lunch and had a lovely meal. They have a huge variety of teas and they all come in a pot. Perfect for a cold Colorado day(although it was very hot when we came, yet still very nice to have some tea). We had the Indian Samosas for an appetizer along with the Burrata Crostini. Both really good! I suggest asking for their hot sauce(from their sister restaurant) to have with the Samosas. The huckleberry tea-balsamic reduction dripped on the Crostini was really tasty. For our main we shared the Spicy Indonesian Peanut Noodles with Tofu which were good but could have been a bit spicier(I love heat!). We didn’t ask but they split the dish into two separate plates for us, both large servings, which was really nice! Worth checking out if you are visiting Boulder and definitely should be a regular spot if you live there!

Boulder Dushanbe– Is it a Tea House, or a restaurant? Yes, it is BEAUTIFUL, stunning really. but we went in wanting tea and maybe a little morsel to find huge huge elaborate breakfasts being sold. Nary a lemon tart to croissant in sight! We split a pot of lovely tea and called it good. A beautiful spot on the Boulder Creek Path!

What a beautiful space for an afternoon tea. Amazing that it was built in Tajikistan, and shipped over in pieces. In pieces! The mosaics, the flood of natural light in a city that gets 300 days of sunshine, the tea. Oh, that tea. After a cup of the stellar house blend chai at Chautauqua Dining Hall, we anxiously sought seconds at the source. Ample seating and a tempting menu almost pulled us into lunch… less than hour after breakfast. Alas, we stuck with iced chais and leisurely afternoon chat. This seems to be a common MO, as our congenial server was equally attentive and non-intrusive. Such an art. Our $ 3 treat disappeared quickly, but came with a refill. Rad! It’s hard to believe Boulder could have its own oasis, and yet, Dushanbe is exactly that. Saving the fifth star til I sample their food. Teas available in bulk on the go, or if you nod off from a tranquility overload, you can order the juice online.

A must see when in Boulder! The Dushanbe Teahouse was gifted to the City of Boulder from its sister city in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. What a gift! I can’t even comprehend how much craftsman work was involved in making this teahouse. It’s breathtaking both inside and out. This building was made in Dushanbe by hand without the help of any power tools, then disassembled, crated up, and shipped to Boulder. Very close in proximity to Boulder’s Pearl street, I was taken aback seeing such a beautiful work of art sitting smack dab on an unassuming street in Boulder. They do a wonderful job with the flowers in front. It was a sensory trip walking to the front entrance because the building is beautiful and you’re awash in the smell of flowers. I was loving it. We came on a Sunday morning and were quoted a 45 minute wait. Ouch. We decided to walk over to Pearl street and browse the stores there but ended up coming back late. Even though there seemed to be a lot of open tables and not as many people waiting at that time, we were told we had to wait again(essentially start at the back of the line) since we missed our turn. The hostesses could have done a better job of expediting people to tables. I felt like we were being punished for coming back late since there were clearly soooo many open tables and they were making us wait! It was kind of ridiculous. After another 10 – 15 minute wait or so, we were finally seated. Our waiter was a hoot! He was very lackadaisical, almost to the point we thought he was slightly stoned. When my friend asked about certain dishes being dairy free, he would say«I think that’s dairy free» or «yeah that should be dairy free.» Lol dude is it dairy free or not? You had to be very direct with him and be like okay can you check? but otherwise he was fine and actually I found him pretty entertaining. My one complaint is that our drinks took forever to get, to the point where we had to ask about them. Their tea selection is insane. It is a teahouse after all. If you are at all indecisive, you might want to study the menu before coming here simply to narrow down your choices. I was on a pancake kick during this trip so the whole wheat chai pancakes it was for me. Both of my friends got the more exotic dishes and I was definitely eyeing those. Those looked amazing and the bites I had of those were very good especially the Kookoo sabzi, which is a Persian herbed omelette. My friend went home and looked up the recipe for that, that’s how good it was. I’m going that route next time I’m here. Overall, it was a lovely brunch experience in spite of the few hiccups with service. Thoroughly enjoyed my time here and it was such a treat to enjoy a delicious brunch, sip my chai and have a great conversation with girlfriends in such lovely surroundings. I think in total we easily spent 2 hours here and would have stayed longer if not for our afternoon plans.

I am a huge fan of tea and I was in Boulder for the evening, so my friend and I decided to visit this place. Initially, I was astonished by the building and the tiny river flowing through the outdoor area. It is a very aesthetically pleasing place. Once we were seated to our outdoor table, I was so excited to go through the plentiful tea options on the menu. There is a lot to choose from(from oolongs, herbals, chais, to various black teas… even very unique flowering teas!) But what left me disappointed was our service. I felt like the waiter barely wanted to be there and his negativity dimmed down my enthusiasm. I ordered my tea and I was really excited to drink it. The waiter must have taken a smoke break because he reeked of cigarettes. I have always had a sensitivity to cigarettes and can get a headache instantly, so for me this was a definite thumbs down. I enjoyed my tea but my overall experience was just«okay». I give the location and the menu 4⁄5 stars but because of how displeased I was with the waiter/service, I am giving the place 3 stars.

A trip to Boulder is incomplete if you do not stop at Dushanbe’s. It’s such a beautiful tea house, both inside and out. We ordered a refreshing strawberry oolong tea and nice light lunch while enjoying the art and vegetation outside. While we did not find our meals authentic, particularly the Korean dishes., we still enjoyed our meals. They were very well prepared. It’s a little on the pricier end, but it’s certainly worth the ambiance.

A companion and I had breakfast here earlier. They have the widest selection of teas, as well as a good breakfast menu. I wish we were here later for lunch, as it seemed from the website that the lunch menu was more interesting. Anyway, you gotta do what you gotta do. I ordered the Kookoo Sabzi, which was a Persian omelette. We also ordered two different types of teas. It was amazing, but I wish they had Tajik selections for breakfast too. The other selections were very Western, and I feel like it is a pity to have such a wonderful setting for a restaurant when the food offerings aren’t exotic enough. So why am I giving this full stars? Because after all, the building is impressive. The tea selection is wonderful. And if were living in Boulder, I would frequent this place more often. Unfortunately I live across the Atlantic. I think I undertipped when I visited. I apologize. It’s a faux pas that someone who has been living in Europe long enough probably commits more often than not when coming to the US for a visit.
