I love the quality, and the LOCAL aspect of BL, but the customer service really, really is poor. So poor, that one time I stopped by with my children to pay a bill and actually had to tell the «gentleman» helping me to quit his attitude. My pre-​teen was in awe of this grown man’s eye-​rolling and sighing when asked to do his job. Yes, Home Depot hires idiots who don’t know what they are doing, and their turn-​over of employees is ludicrous, but I go there when I don’t want to be treated like an unpleasant aspect of the workday (or something that you’d find on the sole of your shoe.)

The first reviewer has it right — this is place to go for good quality lumber. When we were building our house, my husband struggled for a while trying to deal with warped studs till a pro told him about Boulder Lumber. They take care of the wood till they sell it so it’s not dried out and bent out of shape. And they delivered.
Years later, we are doing some more reno work on our home — Boulder Lumber is who we are buying from.
They don’t have every gadget under the sun like the big boxes do — they have what builders need and they sell great lumber.

Don’t waist your time at Home Depot or Lowe’s. Buy where the professions buy and buy local. Boulder Lumber has been serving Colorado since 1927. Really? That’s pretty impressive. They have made it through the Great Depression, following the crash of the Stock Market in 1929, and the Great Recession, following the crash of the housing market in 2008.
A sister company to Lafayette Lumber and other Sterling Lumber companies, Boulder Lumber is small enough to know you and large enough to take care of all your building materials needs. Their same day delivery service is just AWESOME. I observed a customer, the last time I was there visiting their store, that purchased some decking materials and was worried about getting it home in her mini-​van. The sales rep explained that they would deliver it for free and you could really tell that they made her day. Don’t waste your time with those BOX STORES that have no idea as to what you really need, go see the pros at Boulder Lumber!
