The sandwich I got was essentially lettuce and dressing on a open faced piece of bread. I had to search for the meat. Definitely not worth $ 10. Go to their other location in Denver to see what a good sandwich can be. Or just walk down the street to Half Fast. They get a second star for having nice staff, but I’ll be telling my friends to give this place a miss.

Really great place! My 14 year old daughter and I were visiting for a summer music camp and found that we needed to provide our own lunch that day. We found this place by luck and thoroughly enjoyed it. My daughter had the Death Star(turkey, salami, jalapeño cream cheese, jalapenos, tomato, pickle spear and veggies) sandwich and I had the Bikini Bottom(turkey, bacon, onion, cream cheese and jelly) sandwich. Both were great. Very creative food and good quality. Oh, and the«weed» atmosphere didn’t corrupt my child… The staff was friendly and very helpful. I will definitely return.

Have tried and tried but they can’t get my order right. I’ve gone to Cheba many times and have forgiven much, but it’s time to dish out the review. The food itself is delicious, if they get your order right it can be down right amazing. This, for me, has been rare. Usually the base message gets through, but any additions or requests on top of how they usually make the sandwich seems to go unnoticed. It’s been at least 5 orders that they’ve ignored the request for additional veggies. Once I ordered online for pick-up, when I got there they were all very confused, said they’d received no order and obviously didn’t have our sandwiches. They find out shortly that someone had forgot to turn on their online ordering center/printer,(they were obviously stoned [which I couldn’t care less about as long as you can do your job] and couldn’t clearly articulate why they’d messed up). No offer to compensate us with any kind of free drink or anything, and since we’d paid online they said we couldn’t get a refund at the store. They made the sandwiches which as aforementioned had some instructions ignored. The most recent time my instructions were again missed, and it took about 30 minutes for 2 sandwiches on a slow day(half the restaurant was empty, but maybe that’s busy to them). They do have a nice expansion bar they’ve added that I won’t end up trying b/c I’m tired of them getting my food wrong. They do have a good beer selection, however. Everyone is nice and polite enough, but don’t seemed invested in putting out a good product every time, and seem to offer no recompense or even an apology when they mess something up. This place is a great example of why I hate tipping before you get your food(you tip when you order and pay) as I always leave 15−20% only to be disappointed. The laid back atmosphere for the customers extends to be a little to laid back for the workers. It’s really just not that hard to get things right in a place like this(I’ve worked and managed in many similar places, all it takes is caring [just a little bit] about your job). I won’t be back.

Visiting from out of town. Local friend suggested this place for a quick lunch. Store has a fun dispensary style vibe. Food was amazing! Ordered the Kali Mist… bread was cooked to perfection. Will definitely return if ever in Boulder again.

I give you props, Colorado. This chain is pretty high-larious(get it?) and very accurate for this college town! They have tons of great options which are interestingly enough named after weed references. The food was well priced though, for some good quality stuff! My friends and I were all impressed with our lunch choices. The ambiance definitely gives off that stoner vibe, but is totally a place for anywhere to get a good meal!

Naming all your«toasted» subs after weed is brilliant. 4 inch sandwich is called the«Nug» size, 8 inch«Pinner» size and the footling is «Blunt» size. Tried the nug Thai Stick and it was pretty damn good. They toast all the subs the perfect amount and this is pretty much the only spot where everyone is ALWAYS ripped lmao. Some good beer on tap too for only $ 4! Pretty awesome spot. The art in the whole store is beyond dope as well. Didn’t try any deserts but the fruit loop rice crispy bar looked wild too

Duuuuuude! Nothing makes you feel older than a bunch of drunk/high undergrads trying to order food. The subs are humorously named after weed and weed culture references. So not a place to take your uptight mother, but if you like a good laugh and solid food come and enjoy. The combinations are inspired and taste great. Cheba Hut is a step up from chain sub places and yet still divey enough to make you feel at home. For an extra treat(or if you have the munchies), grab a cookie.

Every time I’m in Boulder I have to hit up Cheba Hut. This place is so laid back and the staff is really friendly. Sandwiches are amazing each time I go. Service has been really fast every time I’ve gone over the past years. They also have Kool Aid, which is the perfect compliment to the sandwich.

Great atmosphere, fine beer. Teryaki sauce on the Magic Mushroom is sooo out of place. Any other sauce would suit the ensemble better. This is on me but, I got a nasty scrape sliding into a splintered booth.

This is my first Unilocal review. But it’s very necessary. I’ve been going to cheba hut for years. The sandwiches are pretty good, nothing too special. This experience has gotta be one of the worst, especially for a «fast-food» sandwich spot. My boyfriend and I ordered 2 sandwiches to go. 30 minutes of waiting and I notice everyone in the restaurant has their food but us. I ask if our order is in the works and they are confused. They were making the sandwiches out of order. They make ours after we ask, leaving ingredients off. They really need some order in that place. Maybe they should let their workers come in stoned…

Wrong order, took almost two hours to be delivered. I’m sorry, I won’t be ordering from there again.

ABSOLUTELYRIDICULOUS how warm, crunchy(not hard) and tasty these sub’s are! These people don’t care one bit how dangerously addictive these sub’s are! 8″ Midwest Best(club) on wheat. «Loaded up»(no onion) for me and Dijon! By far the best sub I have ever eaten! Don’t let the theme fool you, this is no gimmick, you will be back!

In all the years I have been going to Cheba Hut, they have never disappointed. The staff is friendly, it’s right off campus so the primary clientele is that of students; they have Kool-Aid in those old school drink dispensers and general good vibes. I recommend trying the White Widow on garlic, but from what I’ve been told none of their sandwiches disappoint! It’s quick, good, and if you get a large you can turn it into two meals. Score. You don’t need to be baked to go because either way the sandwiches are legit. Never tried delivery or pickup.

Cheba hut… my girlfriend wanted to try it so we went on a Friday night, not too busy, we stood off to the side to look at the menu. The weed analogies here are clever, but a bit overkill I think. Everywhere you look there is a pot leaf or a picture of someone who is stoned. We ordered our subs with a cashier we could barely hear, and she could barely hear us. This may be on account of the blaring music. The only employee really nice to us was the girl who brought us our food. Everyone else seemed like they weren’t paying attention. Not a bad experience by any means but when I think restaurants i think service and tonight i missed out on the service part.

Really weird environment. Place smelled and the staff looked like they were on something. Food was great but we’re probably never going back to this location again

Food is great but the fact that I have to wait over an hour for delivery less than a mile away is ridiculous! I wouldn’t normally write a review for that reason, but it happens every single time: I’m working through lunch and need a sandwich, Cheba Hut sounds great, then they make me wait until the day is almost over! P. S. …still waiting.

Located right in the heart of the hill, Cheba Hut has the best sandwiches! My friend and I walked in(it was the first time either of us had been there) and the friendly guy at the counter gave us the whole run down on the menu. Super friendly! I love the atmosphere, there is a really cute wall that’s painted with old TV shows which I loved. The sandwiches were also so yummy! I got the California Club(you HAVE to try their homemade honey mustard sauce. SOGOOD). You can customize any of their sandwiches or just build your own so there is a lot of variety which was also nice. Can’t wait to go back for my next sandwich!

I was in Boulder attending a graduation, so my food options were at the mercy of my host. Luckily, she steered me in many great directions. I liked Cheba Hut. The atmosphere was very laid back… kinda like a place you’d find next to the beach in Venice. Their menu was riddled with weed references, which Colorado as a whole seems to be embracing. Anyways, I ordered the 5 – 0, which was a whole lot of pork products on a bun. Bacon, ham, salami! I asked for no cheese, but cheese came on it anyways. That was a little annoying. Service was fast and friendly.

On our way across the US(literally. from San Fran to Buffalo) we stopped at Cheba Hut for a mid-afternoon lunch/dinner before heading out of Colorado. We loved the vibe of the area… various shops and restaurants, people strolling down the sidewalk, and music coming out of pretty much every establishment on the strip. When we entered, we were thrown off by the menu names and how to order the food(Check their website and you’ll understand what I’m talking about haha) but it was entertaining… and man, everything was delicious! While we ate, we checked out the surroundings… lots of cool art on the walls… lots of relaxed, happy employees lol… we were there right before what seemed to be a dinner rush so we got the added bonus of being able to people-watch while we were dining. We loved Boulder, and we loved Cheba Hut. The end.
