Made it a point to check out this place based on Ariel H’s description of «Western-Bohemian-Cowgirl». The store is small and cozy, with home accents for sale here and there with the clothes. Great selection of boots, new and used, at great prices, but only in the mid-sizes 7 – 8. New Gringos for $ 175(retail $ 360). Clothes were nice, and the prices were friendly, and they are definitely picking out stuff with a certain«style». I didn’t buy anything, but not for lack of liking, I think I’m just not in a buying mood. The jewelry is great! lots of stones and turquoise, and I go for that sort of look. But, alas, not in a buying mood there either. I’ll check it out whenever I do my thrifting, consignment rounds in Boulder. Now there’s 2 reason’s to check out this north Broadway area: Pupusa’s and CoCo’s.

It’s obvious that CoCo’s Closet is a brand new consignment store. And what’s wrong with brand new consignment stores? Well… not many people have brought in their clothes to consign yet. Which equals poor selection. I have faith that as time passes and the selection improves, CoCo’s will be on my regular circuit of thrift/consignment stores. The space is cozy, the owner’s friendly, and the selection of shoes they had were all crazy cute… but all under a size 9. Right now, though, the pickings are slim. Not one thing in the store came close to fitting me, let alone catching my eye. I felt like I was mostly surrounded by clothes that were too old for me and too small/short for me. Almost everything I saw would look good on a little old(okay, middle aged) lady, but not on me. Lots of knit white sweaters. Relaxed fit pants. Velour hoodies. High-necked dresses. I’d rate an established store with this kind of selection with two stars. But the third star is for optimism. CoCo’s, I’m rooting for you to make it through the tough beginning.
