I tried Zenza BBQ as it is near to my house and the reviews were good on Unilocal. firstly I love BBQ and have ate it all over the states. I love BBQ. I was really hoping for the place to be fantastic but it was just ok. 1) the service was excellent. 2) the cornbread was good 3) I tried the 2 meat plate and I didn’t find any of it outstanding 4) the pulled pork was the best 5) I paid over 20.00 for a lunch plate so it was very pricey for what I ate. Next time I might just try a sandwich and see if that turn out better.

First of all if i could give this place ZERO stars I would. Walking in, this place had all the potential in the world. After a coworker suggested I check out their BBQ and having read nothing but positive reviews on their Unilocal page i was preparing myself for the best pulled pork sandwhich in town. Not what I was in store for. Don’t get me wrong, this place has a ton of potential but not even after walking in, to my surprise, was i greeted or acknowledged for about 5 solid minutes until a sweet blond woman looked to us and said we will be right with you. Respectfully, working for a small business myself I should have known that as a new business, the beginning stages are always a learning process. A period of time where things are steamlined, you figure out what works and what doesnt and so on and so fourth. After waiting another 5 minutes to get a round of beers I paid for in cash and asked for menus. Our«waiter» prompted me to order once again at the bar even though we sat at a outside table next to a group of folks who all had their orders taken by the same person. in the middle of ordering we find out the pulled pork option is no longer available. How can you run a BBQ joint and run out of pulled pork? Anyways, after making our second choice orders we waited… and waited… and waited. I was so ready to give up until we decided to let the food do the talking. Meals are over priced! The mac and cheese I ordered was mediocre, the jumbo wings, slighty under done, my boyfriends hot link sliders, cold. I decided another beer would help make this a salvagable dining experience but instead caused major confusion in the end. I was over charged for two beers; the same exact ones i had paid my «waiter» for in cash the first time, BEFORE i even asked for menus. When i confronted the woman she explained to me their credit card system didnt allow refund directly back on the card so instead gave me cash back for the over charge. I really wanted to like this place and would have become a regular like my co worker. Instead im sitting in front of a computer screen making a Unilocal account to express how unhappy our experience with i dont even know what to call you, is it «zenza?» Was. I really hope this place pulls in the proper bar/serving staff to run and operate the place.

Tried this place today after a recommendation from a friend and it was great! The décor is a bar atmosphere but the food and the service are really good. The pulled pork, mac&cheese and cornbread skillet was fantastic.

Finally some great BBQ in the north end of Boulder! We had the three meat feast, and I choose two briskets and ribs. Plenty for two. Real BBQ, tender with great smoky flavor. We’ll be back to try the pork shoulder and hot links. This is a very friendly place with awesome local craft beer on tap. Totally casual, good bar and plenty of TV’s all around with a strong blues track.

Great place to eat, drink and chill(true to the sign outside). There’s a great selection of Colorado beer on tap. I had the brisket sandwich plate with two sides: macaroni and cheese and wild fries. The sandwich was delicious with the house sauce. The macaroni and cheese was delicious and not too heavy. In the future I’ll probably branch out beyond the wild fries to try the other sides, but the fries were a good mix of flavors. The staff is very friendly.

Marijuana legislation was 2014 for Boulder. ZENZABBQ will be the topic in every household this side of the Flatirons for 2015. Great beer selection, awesome food. Like, really good food. Had a great burger with some of the chefs homemade BBQ sauce and some awesome french fries with a spicy kick. The waitress, Marley, was awesome and made the experience all the better. They also had some awesome music jamming and the atmosphere is super cozy and welcoming. If you bring your first date here you may or may not get laid, but that’s your fault, not the restaurants. Seriously, eat here, check them out, you’ll leave happy, if not a little tipsy.

This place is boulders best high end barbecue. I judge all BBQ on a Texas /Carolina /KC standard and it stands up. I had the BBQ pork plate with collard greens and pinto beans — amazing. Also a great local beer tap. The owner Leeland is knowledgable and puts his heart into his place and it shows — come here it is great! His family grew up with Stubbs — you know from the BBQ sauce — so how could you expect anything less than awesome.
