Moved twice with Gary Moves. Totally pro. Paid $ 25/hour each worker, exactly the hours each worked. The first time we moved had 3 guys for 4+ hours, taking furniture and lots of boxes out of a 27′ ABF U-Pack trailer. These guys worked super hard, walking fast to get back to the truck to unload. Careful to not damage antique furniture and walls. Lifted very heavy filing cabinets without me having to separately move each drawer. Second move was just as good. I rented a U-Haul and we took three trips from our rental house to our next house. Had 3 guys for 6.5 hours, and 1 guy for 3 hours. These guys worked their tails off! I strongly recommend Gary, Sam, Jamie — they rock. If you’d rather hire hard working guys lifting very heavy boxes/furniture for only $ 25/hour, use them.

I’d moved four times in six years. Only one of those was with a major moving company, for a cross-country move. The others have involved borrowing friends and their trucks, moving piecemeal with my car, and loading and unloading rental trucks. It’s hard labor and I’m not as young as I once was. So for move number 5, I looked around for a company that could load the truck on one end and unload it on the other. Most companies were charging a minimum of $ 750. Gary’s estimate was less than half that and he could do it on the day I needed. He and Sam showed up at 7am on a Friday, loaded my two bedroom house into a truck in less than two hours, met me on the other end, and unloaded it all in about an hour. Nothing was broken, scratched or damaged in any way. Gary and Sam were professional, polite, worked tirelessly and got the job done well. Worth every penny.

Utter disappointment. Do not use this unprofessional service. I spoke with Gary on the phone two weeks prior to my move. He quoted me a price. Said«I can do that» and told me he would be there at 4PM the day I requested. I heard nothing prior to move day and on move day I heard nothing either. I called. No answer. I waited a half hour and called again. No answer. I franticly called other movers to no avail(starting at 4:30PM at the end of the month is not an ideal time to find a hand) and was absolutely left to dry. At 12:30AM I received a «sorry, I must not have had enough information to confirm your appointment» TEXT message. Now, I absolutely understand a miscommunication that could happen on either end. That being said, had he told me on the phone that it was not a firm appointment, I would have kept looking for moving help. I understood we had an appointment. What is absolutely unacceptable to me is to not respond to me any time before 12:30AM, to TEXT and not call, and to not call to offer any sort of help or conciliation. Moving is stressful and this was the epitome of an addition to stress. I do not recommend this service.

I recently bought the couch of my dreams, but when it arrived it was obvious it wouldn’t fit through my smaller-than-average living room door. Fortunately, Gary accepted my request to hoist it onto my second-floor balcony and in through the normal-sized door there. He and the second person he brought, Sam, were both very careful to avoid damaging the couch or any part of the balcony during this maneuver, and were incredibly resourceful in selecting their approach. The two were exactly on time, very friendly(despite my ridiculous request), and worked quickly. I’ll for sure be calling Gary the next time I move. Oh, I should also note I was able to schedule the entire move by email, which is the greatest, the absolute greatest. 10⁄10. More of this please.

I had two very positive experience with Gary, moving out of a 6 bedroom house and a week later moving into a 5 bedroom house. If you are moving close or far away, getting a truck and having Gary move you is the most cost effective way to do it. A few years ago I had movers stand me up on moving day, let me tell you, that is a stress you do not need. Gary confirmed the day before the move and showed up early the day of his move. The men Gary brought with him were older students who were there to work, the kind of people you immediately feel comfortable having in your home. All through the move out day, I could hear them as they took extra caution with my belongings. I didn’t have a single thing break. 4 days later they unloaded me into my new home. They work hard and treat your things like they were theirs. It was $ 25 bucks an hour for each man and you got an hours work for an hours pay. All in all for a move that«professional» movers would have charged me at least 6k, cost me under $ 1500, with boxes, truck and Gary’s labor. If I have to move again’ I would not hesitate to use Gary and his team.
