Karliquin’s Game Knight

Everyone likes to feel like a «regular» — imagine «NORM!» at Cheers! One of the very first things we noticed about Karliquin’s when we showed up for our first FNM a few weeks ago was how friendly everyone was. These are people who have been playing games together forever (or so it seems…), yet the minute we walked in the door that first night we felt welcomed. While we don’t hope to have «Norm» status for a while, I know that I look forward to FNM and Monday Modern whenever I am in town.

The store is CLEAN! Yes, I do mean clean, even the bathroom! I don’t know how many game stores I’ve been in where I didn’t want to touch a thing… or where I felt I needed to go the next door restaurant to use the facilities. Seriously. It’s a little thing, but one that means a lot to me, and shows customers that owners value them!
The location in Gunbarrel is fantastic. The other main option for FNM near Boulder means that you have to battle cross-​town, post-​rush hour traffic — it can take nearly 20 minutes for our east-​Boulder family to make it there. Then there are often parking issues. Ugh. Karliquin’s is conveniently located minutes from our house, has plentiful parking, and even a decent restaurant or two if you didn’t manage to have a bite to eat before you got there.
All in all, a great little game shop. Give her a try!

Karliquin’s is a great place to buy games as well as play games. I enjoy playing Adventure League D&D at this store whenever possible. The store owner is helpful and knowledgeable about various RPG, board games and miniatures. Always a good experience and the gaming groups have been kid friendly when I have been there.

This store is a boon to the community, providing a communal space to play games and get together. The store owner, Jackson is extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Karliquin’s is great for three reasons: fair prices, great community, and the store owner — Jackson.
Karliquin’s never charges more than MSRP, even for stuff that other stores charge double for because they are rare. He’s willing to special order or let you pre order anything that he can get his hands on for you with no down payment so that you can get stuff that isn’t on the shelf without paying shipping or if you can’t find it online.
The community is great too. There are events every day so you can learn to play games, discover new ones, or try before you buy from the store’s collection of games. There are always people in the store to play something with, even if it’s just Jackson. My favorites are D&D on Wednesday and Saturday and Board Games on Thursday. I know that Friday Night Magic is also very popular.
But the best part of the store is Jackson. He has played and can teach between half and a third of the games on the shelves. He follows games on Kickstarter and trade magazines so that he can pick up new and exciting games before they catch on. Even the games that he doesn’t know, he picks up quickly.
When I first came to Boulder I spent a few weeks trying different game stores in the area. Within a month Karliquin’s became the only one that I go to and I’m there at least 3 days per week.

I have been coming to this store for a few months for events and games and would highly recommend it for both the community and the selection.
The staff are friendly, patient, and always willing to sit down with demo games to help someone learn.
The community which surrounds the store is open and inclusive with the Friday night magic events generally drawing around 2 dozen people.
The selection is fantastic and if there is anything they don’t have they are quick to offer to special order it.

A good place to play a game. Good Magic community, imho always competent to better play all around. Star Trek Attack Wing Sundays ftw. Also, board game night Thurs always a treat.

Great store, helpful and knowledgeable service as well as great gamers! Store owner will order anything you want and is ultra friendly.
