Meta Skateboards

Walked into the skate shop looking for a backpack, yet walked out with new, high-​qual wheels for my Penny board! The dude working there showed me how to change the wheels myself (cuz I live in SoCal, not CO) and he gave me free bearings! Although I’m a girl, I can tell that this place is a guy’s dream store! Cool clothes and Stance socks! Chill vibe and stellar board selection!

I have not skateboarded very much at all.
This is such an accessible store with nonjudgmental, helpful staff. I was incredibly impressed. The guy that helped me was attentive, greeted everyone that came in warmly, didn’t push anything, but clearly knew his stuff. He patiently talked to me about what I needed (very, very basic) and also chatted with a customer from Europe who organized skate events in Denmark with equal ease and obvious expertise.
I’m sure this is a great place for the pros, but since I am decidedly not, I was so grateful that it was also a place for me. I’m definitely going back and I’m definitely bringing friends.
If you think you might want to try skateboarding, or if your friend or kid thinks he or she might, this is the place to ask questions and not feel intimidated.
I love finding places like this.

Sam and the crew at Meta were super helpful in getting an awesome, age appropriate setup for my son. They answered lots of questions, and treated me and my son with respect and friendliness. Without a doubt one of the best skateboard shops I have ever gone to.

I brought my son into the shop last night for him to get his very first skateboard — I am beyond thrilled. Sam spent time with my son to pick out the best board for him, he taught him how to get on his board, and then let him zoom around the shop as he spoke to us about his thoughts on lessons, gear, etc.
It was just a very cool, supportive, and positive environment across the board. I couldn’t have done any of this without all the help I received at the shop.
Not only did he pick out the perfect board for my son — Sam gave my son stickers to decorate his board & a DVD for him to watch as motivation. My son was absolutely beaming the entire ride home.
As a consumer I was blown away by the customer service — this is a place you go when you want to feel like you’ve known these guys for years, where you know without a doubt that you’ll leave with the perfect board, gear, etc. You won’t leave feeling gouged or feeling like your inexperience became an easy way for them to make money — it’s quite the opposite — you leave knowing that Sam wants you to love skateboarding as much as he does.

This is the skateshop your pa told you about. Where the lines of custy and family blur so much you honestly can’t tell who’s a Meta sponsored skater and who just strolled in off the street by the way they are treated.
I’ve seen many a tender moment where a meta team member talks a young gun through the tricks they are going to try to get that weekend. Such support. So essential to the skateboarding world.
Just wanted to +1 all the good reviews. I lived in Boulder for 6.5 years and from Day 1 Sam and the Meta crew brought me in and treated me like family.
You’ll never be over charged. You’ll never feel cheated. Come in with a broken part and the guys will try to piece something together so you can get back out there and skate, often at no charge.

Great service! Went in to get my boyfriend a skateboard for his birthday and the owner (cant remember his name now) was SO helpful. I spent an hour with him figuring everything detail out, best customer service anywhere. hands down. awesome clothes and shoes too. Check out their vampire DVD too

Meta is the best skate shop in Colorado… hands down. Everytime I visit the Boulder/​Denver area all the guys at Meta treat me like family. If you live in the Boulder area, you have no reason to go to any other shop for all your skateboard needs. If you don’t live in the area, make sure to stop by the shop when you find yourself in Boulder. These guys are the best.
