I come here regularly because it’s close but the bar service could be a lot better. I get carry out often and have a drink while waiting and every time they miss the opportunity for more sales because they never come back to ask if I want something else. The bartenders will go five minutes without even scanning for new clients. Food is great.

This was my first time trying this establishment. Very busy when I arrived although got seated right away. Greeted quickly by the waitress which was very attentive through the whole meal even refilling water glasses without asking seems to be rare these days. I have the house hamburger which was hot and plentiful also had a side salad that was an option for a side. Usually if you want salad you have to pay extra not here which was nice surprise. Had great atmosphere to eat in very cool Jazz mirrors on the wall. I really enjoyed dining here

This place sent me a postcard for a free meal for my birthday, even though I never been here before, I was willing to take them up on their offer. I had the smokey BBQ burger which was fresh, hot, tender and delicious. The burger came with bacon which was thick and crispy and onion rings which were crunchy and not greasy or soggy. The meal also came with a salad for which I order Russian salad dressing. normally at most places the dressing is a reddish orange color, but here it was white and tasted more like thousand island dressing. I quickly remedied the situation by mixing some of my BBQ sauce in the dressing to make a new concoction I called«Russian BBQ» and it was quite tasty, if I do say so myself. Even tough this place was pretty full, our waitress kept on top of her game making sure were were satisfactory throughout our entire meal. I gave her my free meal birthday card and everything went great.

The atmosphere is vibrant and peaceful. The Asian crab cakes are wonderful. They are not loaded with fillers or covered in excess with an over caloric sauce.

I love Murphy’s. I live in the neighborhood so I come here fairly often. The service, the drinks, and the food are all consistently high quality. I really enjoy the specials and the bartenders are friendly. What more can you ask of a neighborhood bar and grill? Thanks, Murphy’s, you’re the best!

Happened in here on the recommendation of a nearby restaurant when that restaurant said they didn’t take credit cards for our large party of work associates. Definitely a happy accident! We were extremely impressed by the quality of the food here, and the prices were eminently reasonable. My pan seared trout was outstanding, and the beginning salad that I had was extremely fresh and full of vegetables. My party’s only complaint: when ordering drinks, our bourbon-rocks arrived very watered-down, because someone had scooped ice from a tub that had a lot of melted water in it. Aside from that, it was an outstanding experience. We would definitely return here.

Excellent service. Bartenders are among the best. Great beers and margaritas(custom mix). Power Hour — come after 9pm for half off beers and cocktails. Avery IPA, $ 2.50. Done. Phenomenal guacamole. Extra chips no charge. Bang for your buck in every aspect.

Memorial Day lunch… this restaurant was handy. The north location is evidently good, but our experience at this restaurant was negative. Our server was poor/indifferent(but the young man refilling water glasses was great); my French dip roast beef sandwich was gristly throughout. They brought a burger instead, but seemed pained to do it. Would not dine here again.

The service was great. The half-off drinks hour was a cool surprise. Honestly, I wasn’t sold on my gyro, though. Maybe an off night? The blue cheese was a strange addition. Guess I’m a fan of the classic.

We frequent this restaurant often. It’s a great neighborhood eatery and rarely do I not enjoy my meal. Tips-go after the happy hour rush, around 715 or later and you’ll be seated quickly. Prices are reasonable and the food is very good and the waitstaff has their act together. Various menu selections can accommodate dietary restrictions.

Murphy’s is a nice neighborhood restaurant that offers the right balance between fancy and casual, with a wide menu and decent prices. While the atmosphere inside is nice, the patio is also a pleasant alternative on warmer days. We’ve always been pleased with the service and the food. Last time though, we were disappointed that they were out of the bison and pork meatloaf(my husband’s favorite at Murphy’s) and the mud pie. A note about the bread: it is nice that they offer it, but it does not seem very fresh, as if it was stored in a fridge, which is too bad.

Still my favorite neighborhood restaurant and bar. I love their happy hour and power hour, but their brunch is spectacular. Brunch is oftentimes overlooked for the Walnut next door… But you can’t get half orders or bloodys there!

My family are regulars there so I know the menu pretty well. The crab cakes– delicious! Last time I was there however I was pretty disappointed. I got the fish and chips, which my dad said are usually pretty good. Unfortunately, they were greasy greasy greasy! It was very hard to eat. Also, usually their sweet potato fries are perfection. This time however they were soggy, over salted, and impossible to eat.

Okay, since I already reviewed Murphy’s North, I thought it only fair I also review the south location. I come down here if someone I’m eating with suggests we meet here. The menu is pretty much the same as the one up north. The service is hit or miss. Unfortunately, I’ve landed here at Happy Hour or early dinner hour too often and have had to wait a long time for a table and service. But, I just take it in stride. I don’t come here if I’m in a hurry. I’ve never had a bad meal here, but I have had slower service than I get up north. However, the one thing I don’t like here is that the patio is out front, right next to the parking lot. I hate being inundated with car fumes and traffic noise when I’m eating. It really disgusts me and ruins my meal. Any restaurant that puts their patio near or in a parking lot is crazy! Who wants pollution with their meal? The patio up north is so much nicer!

been going to Murphys on the north side of town forever, and went to Murphy’s south last week. Not very good-the waitress was pretty awful –didn’t offter to refill drinks(and those drinks like the lemonade aren’t super cheap) even when she noticed they were empty. Offered us water instead. –brought 2 of the appetizers; we ordered one. Sent one back. 2 were on the bill. The waitresses were all kind of underdressed for work and seemed not very good at their jobs. Toughest calamari I have ever been served. Just not a very good experience. I’ll stick with the other one, always been consistent and enjoyable.

The special thing about Murphy’s is the service. I just ate there because the Southern Sun was closed for food and WoW the bartender Lily has some excellent people skills. Nice nice intutive and smart. It’s rare that I leave a restaurant and think of nothing that the service person could have improved. Murphy’s is my new favorite restaurant or drink a beer place.

This place is very consistent: Always Awful! I keep coming back with friends, optimistically hoping it has improved. Unfortunately, I’ve been disappointed EVERY time. The service continues to be mediocre but Christopher put in a 5 star effort tonight in an attempt to reconcile the disasters prepared by the bar and kitchen. Previously, I sent back a glass of red wine because it was chilled to a frigid 36, apparently to please the owner who insists that all red wine be chilled!?! Tonight, we sent back the daily special ‘Raspberry Peach Sangria’. It was red-ish with a slice of lemon but no hint of raspberries or peaches and both glasses tasted only of seltzer. I ordered a caesar salad, which was mostly less-than-ripe cherry tomatoes, stale croutons and pre-shredded ‘parmesan’…and I think the dressing was actually vinaigrette. My crab cakes were surprisingly good but the polenta was a disaster. The first polenta, plated with my meal, was hollow– a thin crusty shell of the polenta that once was, before it was destroyed by the cook. Christopher asked to return it to the kitchen but the second polenta sent out by the cook was only cooked on one surface and half of the polenta ‘wedge’ didn’t even make it onto the plate. Christopher kindly asked if he could buy us dessert and brought us a very good dense chocolate cake. I’m not sure if it was truly flourless but it was quite good. Christopher then made sure the drinks were removed from our bill and covered half of my entrée… I think he covered the polenta half.

A very nice neighborhood Resturant that is good if you want to get a little fancy and good food but not too elite. Great variety of food that always is great. Surprisingly the chimichanga is great. Service is very good and give out free birthday meals. Always seem to see a friend-great local feel. One of my favorite local places to go. Never too Crowded but nicely busy. Ample and great food!

We came in on a Sunday night and the place was pretty packed. The service was on the slower side, but given they were busy this is understandable. We also took a long time to figure out what we wanted to order, given the crazy amount of delicious options on the menu. When we finally settled, our group ordered the chimichanga, the gyro, the blue moon bison burger, and the roast beef dip. I got a salad instead of fries with my roast beef dip and holy moly I did not miss the fries at all! The salad was full of lovely, dark greens, and a tasty balsamic vinaigrette. The sandwich was also quite tasty, but already a bit soggy before I dipped it in my au jus. My boyfriend’s burger was also pretty freaking fantastic. Bison, blue cheese, and avocado among other tasty things. He subbed the sweet potato fries which were well worth the extra $ 1. Nice and crispy with the perfect amount of salt. One unfortunate thing was that my friend’s rootbeer was $ 5.50, which seems ridiculous for a non-alcoholic beverage, especially since the Guinness I ordered was the same price. Steep for soda! We shared the carrot cake which was phenomenal and worth every extra calorie. The prices were decent besides the crazy expensive root beer. I would love to visit again and try some of the other yummy things on the menu!
