Nectarine

If you’re looking for an amazing color and cut for a man or woman CJ is your girl! She has mad skills!!! I usually change my color a couple times a year and she always hits it spot on to what I am describing OR takes me in a direction I had not thought of and I’ve LOVED it every time! She is an expert at all texture of hair and her cutting ability is very precise! Now, on top off all her incredible skills, she is hilarious, kind and compassionate! The laid back atmosphere and good company will have you not wanting to leave! Book your next appointment ASAP, she fills up fast! (That’s how awesome she is!)

I almost hate to write this good of a review because I know Sarah only accepts new clients occasionally right now since she has such a full schedule but let me just go ahead and say Sarah is THE BEST. EVER. No joke. If you read my other reviews of other places you will note that even when I am positive, it is not over-​the-​top. I literally can’t find anything even bordering on the lukewarm side of awesome to say about my experience at Nectarine.
I have had cuts, color, and waxing from CJ and from Sarah and they are both fabulous. CJ will make you laugh and include you in planning your service very deeply while Sarah has a lot of experience, great advice, and a very gentle way of handling hair and heads (I know that sounds weird, but it matters to me). I have curly, fine hair, which is a strange combination. I also have a ton of hair per sq. inch on my head. On top of this I color my hair, swim, don’t really want to do more styling than shaking my head out and toweling it with product (I’m not a girly girl, don’t own a curling iron or use a hair dryer more than 4 or 5 times a year), and don’t want to get my hair cut more often than every 2 months or so. Most places would think I’m a nightmare. Nectarine just helps me come up with a plan of how to best cut and style to achieve all of that and keep me looking good. I have never left there looking anything short of sassy and lovely. I get great advice on when are good times to make changes to my hair, what products to use, and how to style at home for limited fuss and maximum results. And sitting in their salon feels like hanging out with a friend because they are both so sweet. This is THE PLACE.
On my first appointment, I was nervous because I had moved to Colorado and left my stylist of 4 years. No one here was using the line of color I had been using on the East coast and I had had one bad experience at another Boulder salon already. Sarah put me at ease by showing me how she was taking my previous color information and matching it to her chart, and then matching my ends to her samples. She made sure to schedule me for extra time so that we could talk about my hair, my cut, my color, and my questions and not be rushed on my service. Then, she said, «I won’t let you leave looking anything less than great. You have to look beautiful in order to feel good about this and I know you looking good is my best advertisement too.» It put me so at ease. Four years later, I would never go anywhere else. Whenever we are changing products, color, or cut she always reminds me that if anything isn’t quite right after I leave to call her and come back in so she can fix it. I can’t ask for anything more than a relaxing couple of hours, great hair, and great service and advice!
