I came in this afternoon looking to buy some beans. Ozo has a wide variety of beans to sell, and I have very particular coffee tastes; thus, I approached the barista and I asked if she could point me in the right direction for what I was looking for. She was incredibly nice(as was the cashier), and extremely knowledgeable of their coffee beans. She gave me a great recommendation and I cannot wait to French Press the beans tomorrow morning. As for the atmosphere, it is spacious and relaxed! I will certainly return!

Every morning I stop by Ozo to get a latte and chat with the friendly baristas. Ozo’s coffee is so far superior to all the other coffee shops in town that I drive to one of their 3 locations in Boulder rather than making a quick stop at another coffee shop. I am truly a loyal fan.

One of the best coffee in Boulder. I look forward to my latte here(and another place down the street) when I’m in CO. ************ I am going through my unfinished drafts of reviews and found this gem. I finally bought a travel mug after visiting a few more times, and that mug is still in tip top shape after much use. Thumbs up for coffee, friendly service, and travel mug.

A very cool place with a multitude of coffee options. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. We went here twice and experienced a «pour over» method first day. Second visit we opted for their Ozo blend of drip coffee. They have a very nice chart explaining the differences between the 3 methods and it is really quite impressive with all of their offerings. They also have food options that looked solid. So why 3 stars? The coffee itself. It was ok. We went to the Unseen Bean nearby and had a truly exceptional cup of coffee. This coffee was not memorable for being anything but average. The flavor was«meh». If you want a learning experience and to see various methods of coffee making, this is a cool place to visit. If you want an exceptional cup of coffee, we didn’t find one here.

I will truly never understand why people love this place. It takes more than ten minutes every time to get one drink, and the chai here is some of the worst I’ve had. As a chai enthusiast, this was disappointing– the almond milk chai I got took more than ten minutes to prepare, cost me $ 6, and it was acidic(cheap chai blend). Two stars for nice and friendly baristas. The coffee isn’t great either-it’s very dark and heavy-tasting, while still feeling watery and bitter. With Boxcar Coffee down the road, I would never return here. Atmosphere is way too loud to study, no outlets, and WiFi is spotty– so good luck, students, you won’t be able to make this your go-to study spot, but you will pay more than $ 5 for a cup of coffee or an expired pastry.(Oh, and if you buy an expired pastry, they won’t refund you, they’ll just tell you that you have to pick something else. Yes, this really happened.)

Excellent coffee house with talented baristas. My latte was a perfect temperature and the espresso flavor was amazing. I loved having a choice of 2 espresso beans«on tap». Awesome menu of mocha’s — some 15 to 20 deep — and great atmosphere as well.

Awesome atmosphere and really friendly staff! It’s our first time and we were offered a free latte for judging the latte art. :)

I got the Yirgacheffe French press and it was most likely the best cup of coffee I have ever had. And very cheap(a 16 oz French press was less than $ 3.) The atmosphere was too loud for working or reading without headphones in, but I didn’t come here for that so I was fine with that. They were playing 90s rap music which I thought was awesome. They also have tons of cool mugs and travel mugs for sale!

I’m sad to say I’m not that impressed for the following reasons: 1. Their customer service is seriously lacking. The baristas make no attempt to initiate friendly conversation and when I try they are still cold. They also don’t pay attention when there isn’t a long line. I’ve waited several times at the register for 5 mins before they stop their conversation to help me. There are many cofffee shops around and often people come for the experience and friendliness over anything else. 2. The quality of their expresso and tea lattes are mediocre at best. The expresso has been over pulled at times, the steamed milk is usually airy and bubbly, the flavors are bland. 3. The speed of service is too slow. A good coffee shop should have their drinks out within 3 – 6 minutes even with a line. I wait an average of 10 – 15 mins and often they only have 1 – 2 drinks ahead of me. 4. The pastries are usually stale. 5. The prices can’t be justified by their quality– too expensive. 4. They need more outlets. The pros: 1. Convinient location right on Pearl Street Mall. If you can snag a seat it’s good for studying or working at. 2. Artwork is nice. 3. A couple of the baristas make an effort to be friendly. This place has potential and could be vastly improved by better customer service and retraining on drink making skills. Lots left to be desired.

A very high 4 stars, on the cusp of the 5 and my favorite coffee shop in Boulder in terms of flavor. Ozo is their own roaster and seems to be a much more traditional coffee shop than the others on the Pearl Street Mall. I’m a little disappointed I only tried one cup, but it was the best coffee I’ve ever had in Boulder. Their special was a Mexican. I had it as a pour over and it was prepared perfectly. Very nice rich flavor to it. While the barista was preparing my coffee, we had a conversation and she was super nice. She even suggested the 5 star sandwich shop(Cured West) next door. 5 stars for the customer service here. They have a roaster in the city that potentially does tours and possibly samplings. I think Ozo roasters are the best in Boulder. This is my go-to shop in Boulder.

This place would rate six stars if Unilocal could get their shit together :-). As a coffee snob in town from Los Angeles, it was only right for me to research and visit the top coffee shops in Boulder. Ozo was first on the list and needless to say, I never made it to any of the others. The service was dynamite and the drinks far exceeded my expectations. Do things the right way and order yourself a Dirty Tom Brokaw. GAMECHANGER! I got home to LA and ordered myself a couple of bags of beans!

Busy place… Better than Starbuck. I’m talking about coffee and atmosphere… Actually, any coffee is better than Starbucks coffee… Dunkin Donuts, McCafe, 7 – 11, Hotel coffees(Hotel…NOT Motel) and instant coffees… lol

Not to be basic, but the pumpkin spice latte was omg delicious. Knocked the ugg boots and lululemon crops off my body. Ozo was a great find in Boulder as it is one of the few places open before 8am. We shared a pumpkin spice latte and a raspberry scone. I thought the scone was fantastic– not too sweet, a little buttery and raspberry in each bite. Total for both was $ 7. Worth it.

Great coffee, great snacks, great staff — music too loud! Love Ozo’s vibe, love the location, love the friendly staff, love the drinks — expertly made, wow, and they follow special instructions to the letter. It’s a pleasure to be served by such pros, and i always leave a good tip. Do not love the fact that I was there a week ago at 4PM and someone thought it was a good idea to blast 70s pop hits over the sound system. At first I thought someone had accidentally turned it on at full volume by mistake and would rush to turn it down to a non-rock concert volume, but no, this was someone’s idea of what they thought a bunch of people relaxing, having conversation, doing work on computers, studying or just taking a break wanted to hear. Guys — don’t do that, it’s really obnoxious. I would rather hear Starbucks’ 10,000th play of Bob Marley’s «Could you be loved» at a reasonable volume than be bludgeoned by «Don’t Stop,» The Lido Shuffle” and«Stayin’ Alive.» It’s a coffee bar, in other words, not a disco or a clothing store. Does anyone come in a coffee shop to stand up and groove like they just don’t care? Or to they come to get respite, to contemplate, recharge? Also, this place in particular seems to attract people who think it’s ok to have full-volume phone conversations right next to others who want to chill, but that may be a symptom of Boulder’s moneyed, entitled, oblivous-to-everyone else populace than anything else. ;)

I’ve probably passed by this place a number of times but never notices it until a few weeks ago which is very odd for me since I live and breathe coffee! My colleague and I stopped here on a Sunday afternoon and I got an iced Florentine(Iced chocolatey coffee drink). It was delightful and they had a ton of other options plus drinks in the cooler and food. I will notice this place in the future and be back for me.

One of the better coffee shops in Boulder. Great coffees and pastries. It gets filled to the brim with hipsters, so it can be hard to find a place to sit, so I’d suggest takeout.

I just really like Ozo. The coffee is good, and it’s also nice for breakfast and lunch if you are looking for a place that is not fussy. I usually get coffee and I have also been happy with the food I have occasionally ordered there. But what I love is the atmosphere, so vibrant and friendly. Yes, it is busy and can be a little loud, but it’s also part of Ozo’s charm.

I live in Berlin, which has a great coffee scene, so I know what good coffee tastes like. And this place can definitely deliver it. I was here with a companion and we both ordered cortados, and they were very potent. It was a good social lubricant, and we enjoyed it very much. The coffee was thick, flavorful, and had just the right amount of force in it. This place is just one of the things that made me enjoy Boulder a lot. I’d definitely pay them a visit again when I am back in town.

Did a tasting here. Friendly and fun. We tried their Ethiopian beans via chemex, pour over, French press and an espresso shot. All were tasty, and Mutually dramatically different. They also have a huge set of options for mochas. We tried the loch Ness mocha — dark chocolate, Irish cream and mint. it was well balanced and super creamy. The only problem was how busy it was, but I won’t hold that against them.
