Crazy awesome dinner with great delivery of the courses. Pork on polenta was magical.

I’ll keep this short and to the point. I have eaten here several times on my trips to boulder. The food is fantastic and the wines superb to match your food. The menu is very small, but what is on is worth its slot! So what was the problem? Well after having a wine and prosciutto salad I asked for the check and it was speedily delivered. $ 21’s not bad for the quality of wine and food. So I placed 2x $ 20 notes on the check As I had nothing smaller. After 10 minutes had passed, and given I was now stood up and had my hat — imagine my shock and disbelief when the waitress asked«do you actually want change»” !!! Erm yes!!! The bill was 21 And I gave 40. The tip would have be generous but to ask a customer if they expect change. What on earth is that about !! So no matter the quality of food and wine and to be clear they are fantastic it will be my last visit. Never ever have I been left waiting to pay and then asked if I expected change :-(. A perfect experience let down by unbelievable cheek!!!

The dining experience is as unique as it is exquisite. They’re menu is small, so just order everything. You absolutely can do no wrong. Five stars all the way, but if they just had one specialty Belgian brew on hand I would go bananas.

The service is great. The food is delicious, but the portions are really small. I highly recommend this place if your stomach is no bigger than a golf ball. After appetizers and entrée’, my girl friend, who weighs about 90 lbs, said, «so what’s for dinner?» Most people I know who aren’t Yuppies don’t want to spend $ 70 on food and still be hungry.

This place is just so good in so many ways. Service: Quick and thoughtful service from start to finish. Very knowledgeable staff and awesome wine list. I didn’t hear the word«Sommelier» one time in the entire hour or so I was there– which considering this is a wine bar, was really refreshing. They were all very knowledgeable without being snooty at all– and I felt like I was drinking and eating amongst friends at a small house party. Food: Delicious. Thoughtfully presented, nice variety and with frequent, seasonal menu rotation, Did I say delicious already? This place just became one of my new favorite Happy Hour spots in Boulder. I ordered 2 glasses of wine, 2 orders of crostini’s, 2 orders of meat + cheese for less than $ 30, with quick and super friendly service. AWESOME. Wine: Great selection and variety. They have something for everyone and at pretty much all price points. Definitely give this place a visit!

PMG is relatively new to the Boulder dining scene(it opened in the summer of 2014) but you need to make a point of eating and drinking here. Boulder-native Emily Gold, the owner, brings her experiences living and working in France & Italy to the eclectic but uniformly outstanding food and beverage menus. This ain’t your grandma’s Italian. I had the beef short ribs with polenta, which hit the spot on a rainy fall night. The gelato is from Amante, the best gelato in Boulder– and PMG is the only restaurant in Boulder to carry it. But the wine… Oh the wine… Emily’s passion for wine and the people who make it shines through. She has outstanding relationships with distributors as well as winemakers and she makes a point of carrying limited releases, both in bottles and glass pours, that you won’t see anywhere else. This isn’t the place to get a safe glass of malbec. Emily personally selects everything she carries and you need to just trust her and her outstanding, intelligent staff(Joe! Alexa! Mia!). Choose red or white or sparkling and be prepared to discover a new favorite. Important note: this was my first time in Boulder. I got to my hotel at about 6:30, worked until almost 8, and then needed food. I found PMG through Unilocal.By the time I left the restaurant two hours later, this is what I had learned– plus I had made a few new friends. That’s the kind of place PMG is. Go.

PMG is that hidden gem that you dream about… a local spot with real soul and heart! Here are creative dishes that you must try: the crostini with beets and ricotta, the lamb meatballs and the half chicken. OMG. Joe V, Alexa, Michelle run the consummate patron experience, with minor wine pours to make sure you enjoy what you are ordering. This is a fabulous practice. The food is truly good. Excellent. I’ll be back!

Um… wow. Between meetings today I asked my soon to be gent for all time what to choose for a dinner on our«date night» before a movie. He told me to pick, which made my mind overload w options, for he’s pretty set in his restaurant ways and I’m always looking for the new. I automatically hop on Unilocal looking for something to ignite some inspiration, but knew I was craving some comfort food… Sauces, pasta, bread etc… I Unilocal search Italian and PMG pops right up on the list(although it isn’t traditional Italian so don’t stop here… It’s a pretty much undefinable mix and meld of many things and constantly changing). I see more 5 star reviews for this place than I’ve ever seen, and the place never crossed my radar. I had to go. When you sit down and receive the menu, it doesn’t look like anything out of the norm. We decide to start with small plates while deciding on wine(incredible list that changes often) in case we’ve made a mistake venturing out(it’s happens!), but our server, Kathryn(Catherine? Katherine?), recommends things and explains things… gently guides us. We go with the burrata, peppers, and chickpea panelle. Oh my goodness. All blew our minds. When the appetizers arrive, we meet the GM Joe V(Jovee?), and get a sense of the vibe of the place. Between him and Kathryn, we are sold on the service. The small plates proved so delectable we needed more. The tagliatelle ragu — -what just happened to my face? Seasoned perfectly. Naturally, we needed more… Beef shank cooked for HOURS. I could get super in depth about all the flavors, but the reality is that there is no set menu. I don’t want to get anyone attached to any one item. All I can say is GOTOTHERE. Or don’t… I don’t need it getting too crowded. Service, food, wine… paired with a charismatic, dedicated, knowledgeable staff and I’m sold. A true contender for the best food/culinary experience in Boulder.

This place is out of control good. One course after the next, we couldn’t believe how well Chef Sal would put a twist on traditional dishes and serve cooked to perfection. My Wife and I intentionally ordered something different from each of the courses to try as much as possible. Joe V(the GM) was there to help us pair a wine, crack us up and a make us feel at home. We’ll certainly be back.

Went for happy hour with a friend. I’m so happy to find a restaurant that’s wine focused. There’s just not enough in Boulder. After sampling the happy hour wine friend wasn’t too pleased so the server brought our several wines for her to try. That we thought was really an added bonus. The snack menu was delicious. Food is simple but flavorful. We especially enjoyed the burrata and farro and the tagliatelle with bolognese. I do wish they had events. I used to go to a wine bar(back in Los Angeles) that didn’t serve food, but had tasting events that featured certain wines or regions.

Stopped here for a glass of wine and snack before our dinner reservation down the street. Almost cancelled the reservation and stayed there. The owner stopped by our table a few times to check on us, and the servers were very good. Definitely worth taking a few steps off the mall. Definitely something different that Boulder needed.

During the holiday season this place has been busy. We went on a Friday night and fortunately snagged a spot at the bar. This was a good thing since it turned out that I would have a lot of questions about the menu that night. The wine by the glass options are limited but there’s a nice variety. If you’re willing to commit to a full bottle, the selection is extensive. We wanted to try several so we took the by the glass route and enjoyed most of our selections. Although the grappa on the dessert menu was really potent — don’t breathe in while you’re sticking your nose in the glass :) The dinner menu consisted of a variety of smaller plates and a few entrees. We chose several small plates to share: Warm kale salad with anchovy dressing — this was really good, but on the salty side for me. Chickpea panelle — this was a mashed up chickpea mixture fried and topped with honey and creamy crème fraîche/yogurt type topping. Delicious! Cheese of the day — goat cheese balls rolled in smoked paprika or fennel. These were tasty with the fresh biscuits, I wish we’d had two biscuits instead of one. Prosciutto with delicata squash — this was the surprise dish for us. The prosciutto went amazingly well with the delicata squash, apple compote, and crème fraîche. We were really pleased with all of our dishes, the service by our bartender, and the warm interior. I’m sure we will add this to our regular Boulder rotation.

This is one of the best culinary experiences I’ve had in Colorado. I am going to save the wine review for a moment and just talk about food. I enjoyed two remarkable dishes(and only two total so far… until my next visit). It is worth going to PMGJUSTFORSTEAKTARTARE. It is extraordinary. Perfecty seasoned and beautiful beef. Flavorful to the last bite. Run, don’t walk. This is a show-stopper. Also enjoyed jumbo shrimp over persimmons and fennel. A fabulous composite dish. Owner Emily Gold has years of experience gathering her wine knowledge in Europe. She delivers this at PMG with charm, humility and great instincts. This place is a marvelous addition to my life in Boulder. It’s just steps off Pearl Street. Do not miss this place.
