Roundhouse Spirits

Five stars given that they’ve succeeded so well in what they’re trying to be. Went here after dinner on a Fri night to get a good cocktail and hear live music, and succeeded at both. Smallish room, lively, plenty of folks but still space for us without getting elbowed. The music was good and the guy handed out free CDs to anybody who was interested.
It can be hard to find at night — tucked back in the corner of a light industry complex. When you see a bunch of parked cars and are wondering what they’re doing there at this time of night — you’re close, keep heading for the back corner of the parking lot.
Note they are licensed as a distillery not a full bar, which means they can only serve drinks where they make the liquor.

Best Gin I have ever had! Gin is not my favorite liquor on the rocks, but I drink Roundhouse gin on the rocks all the time. There barrel aged gin also makes a fantastic moscow mule in place of vodka.

We specifically came to Boulder to try out Roundhouse Spirits because we heard that they had a pumpkin cordial that was to die for and both barrel aged and traditional processed gin! We purchased a deal for a tour and drink package and weren’t disappointed.
Ted, the owner and distiller, gave us a tour of the small distillery and explained all of their products and how they are produced and at the end of the tour gave us a small sample of each product.
We learned that the Pumpkin King Cordial liqueur made with fresh roasted Munson Farms (only 5 miles from the distillery) Baby Bear pie pumpkins, Roundhouse Gin, and traditional spices. Two pounds of pumpkins are used for each bottle of Pumpkin King — — and it is delicious.
We retired to their speakeasy bar and tried a number of cocktails, including those using barrel aged gin, which is a great substitute for Bourbon. Ted joined all the tour guests at the bar and continued to answer questions and just sit with us and talk.
We had an incredible time — — great tour, great products and amazing cocktails in their tasting room. We went home happy and with a few bottles of our new favorites.

RoundHouse Spirits has the best gin. They offer quite a few different drinks at their speakeasy style bar. The bartender is polite and they always have pretzels on hand to enjoy with the drink :). I forget the name of it (Gatsby?) but they have some yummy delicious drink recipes to try — I tried one that I normally would not have tried and was pleasantly surprised! MY TIP TO YOU** The classic gin martini is fantastic — I like it with lemon or lime… normally I like my martinis with olives, but their gin is better with lemon or lime. Don’t be fooled by the warehouse surroundings, this place is great for being casual or date night.

This was a stop on the Boulder passport but I’m glad I got the chance to try it! We came here a bit late but got lots of individual attention and enjoyed our visit. They have lots of cocktails on a list and can make others. Try the agave and pumpkin liquors!

This is a great little bar with wonderful gin drinks. If you like gin, you’ll like this place.

Got a living social for this place so my boyfriend and I came on the 4^th of July since we were both off. The tour was very interesting and the owner who gave the tour was very patient with all of our questions. I loved how he explained how all the gin was made as we tried them. The drinks are amazing and they are very unique. I never liked gin till I came here! I would definitely suggest the imperial, corretto coffee, or the pumpkin king!

I came here with my wife on our day in Boulder. I had bought an online deal for a tour, two tastings, and two cocktails for two people. We came in in the early evening and it was pretty slow in there. We got our first drinks and enjoyed them. I can’t recall which one I had and my wife had the one with some syrup in it. I asked the nice lady there about the tours and she told me they only do tours until 4pm but would give us a quick one since it was slow. We got a quick tour of the area in the back where they make the gin. It was interesting seeing that since I’ve done many brewery tours and like to see the similarities and differences.
We actually were offered to forgo our last set of free drinks and use it toward a bottle. My father in law loves pumpkin and they have a pumpkin gin that tastes like pumpkin pie. We bought it for him for the upcoming Father’s Day. Dude better like that gin… or I’m gonna drink it for him.

Bought a deal for this place on Groupon or Living Social, and went in with my husband on a Friday afternoon. The deal was for a distillery tour and 4 cocktails. We had never been to a distillery and were a little disappointed when the ladies behind the bar said the tours are only at 4 and we had missed it. Seeing we were a little curious about what we missed out on, one of the girls was nice enough to do a little impromptu tour for us! She showed us around the back, told us the process and did a little tasting of their products. It was great, I wish we had gotten her name because she was so nice, but she’s the one with the long blonde hair. As for the products, everything we tried was delicious and the cocktails are very unique and tasty. I usually hate gin, but this place uses a variety of ingredients making their product very different than traditional gin and I actually really enjoyed the drinks. Hubby and I are super light weights and had a long drive into Denver so they let us use our last two drink credits to buy a bottle. We chose the pumpkin liquour (never seen that before!) which I imagine will make a tasty shot or a nice alcoholic cream to pour on desserts. I would definitely recommend this place for a unique drinking experience. Only downfall is it’s a warehouse environment and there’s not much else around.

Who would want a locally distillers gin, you may ask. We’ll if you are a gin lover, this is he place to go! An updated speakeasy atmosphere adds to your enjoyment.

I visited Roundhouse over the weekend after their recent remodel and was extremely surprised at how different the place looks. They took it from a giant warehouse with some tables and bar to a lively, authentic looking speakeasy bar. The detail that was put into the ceiling and the bar are not to be missed and the new cocktail menu fits right in. The warehouse is still available in the back room and is seen on a tour that offers tastes of all their products as well as a history lesson in gin making.

I was the driver for our little excursion to this surprising gem in an industrial lot, but even without tasting their products, I was impressed.
First, the whole place smells like alcohol. I wasn’t too down with this, but, it IS a distillery, so I got over it.
Second, they have some fun concoctions that they’ll make you.
Third, there’s a big wall you can write on with chalk if you want to give your kids (or other adults) something to do.
It is a huge building, but once you belly up to the bar and get chatting, it gets much more intimate.
I think everyone in my party left with a bottle of something. Nice job, Roundhouse!

We had a great time visiting Roundhouse and chatting up the distiller/​owner. We left with 2 bottles in hand, and a new appreciation for white russians, the drink… that is. Like so many libation-​oriented businesses, Roundhouse is located in an industrial park. The distillery offers tours, but I recommend heading straight to the bar. They offer tastings for free and mixed cocktails/​drinks using their spirits. Have the white russian and the old fashioned.

I’m being a little conservative with my star rating, simply because this is the first local distillery I’ve visited and I really don’t have a frame of reference. Roundhouse is definitely small, so if you do drop in for a tour you’ll be talking to the owner — that’s pretty cool. They specialize in gin, which is also pretty cool though I didn’t even realize that I liked gin until recently — specifically since Unilocal’s Crafternoon Delight liquor & spirits event in Denver last March. I then saw a Groupon for a tour and tasting so bought it without really thinking about location and all that.
So you’ll find Roundhouse Spirits in a business parky-​industrial part of Boulder. Hours for tastings and such are fairly limited, too, and since I’m from out-​of-​town it was a little hard to find the time to make it over to use the above-​mentioned Groupon. I finally dragged a friend down to Boulder with me for a shopping/​eating/​touring outing — hence we were here at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon. It was interesting talking with the owner, though I would characterize it as more shooting the breeze and looking at stuff than a tour per se. Having a chance to try to identify the botanicals was fun, though I totally couldn’t identify anything by smell so much as by sight. You can taste their spirits, too, but it just loses something when you’re sampling out of a plastic cup. They had their gin, their barrel-​aged gin, and a corretto (coffee-​flavored liqueur) when we were there.
You can also get cocktails made with their spirits, but I just wasn’t feeling like hanging there at 3 in the afternoon (maybe it’s livelier later …) so I used my Groupon to buy a bottle of «ginsky» (the barrel-​aged gin) and was on my way.

This is just a great little laid back distillery. Drop in for a tour, a tasting, some cocktails & shuffleboard.
The staff is great and will never make you feel like you asked a dumb question. They have fun seasonals, like the pumpkin liqueur, yum!
Plenty of parking, this is kind of an industrial building.
I will most definitely be back!
