The Gear Movement is hook up. If you want top notch gear at affordable prices, this is the place to go. Every year I have the same predicament, how can I afford to pay $ 500 for a jacket, yet at the same time, how can I not afford to have a good ski jacket. This is where The Gear Movement comes in. They’ve got all the best brands, but at wholesale costs. Apparently they can do this because all their items are sample sales from the manufactures. I got a Marmot jacket for 75% off retail! A crazy deal. And since I live in Boulder, I just cruised over to their place and tried on a few different items. My wife was so jealous that she ended up buying some hiking boots the next day. I’ll be heading back when summer stuff comes around.

The Gear Movement is my new favorite outlet for all my outdoor gear! I was looking for some new ski pants and possibly new skis. I found a few pairs on their ebay site that I liked, but needed a little more information so I called them. The staff was so helpful, giving me their thoughts on sizing for the different brands as well as taking into account what type of skier I am and what features are most important to me. I found an awesome pair of pants that have kept me warm and dry all season. Not to mention they were the current years style at about half the price! They didn’t have the exact skis in stock that I was originally looking for, but the owner, Ben, sent me information on some comparable styles/brands. I got a great pair that I like even better than the ones I was originally looking at and for a MUCH better price! These guys rock! I will no doubt be buying from them in the future. Thanks Gear Movement!

Another great transaction with the Gear Movement. This is the third bike they’ve sold for me. Excellent communication, smart pricing, and way more than I would have gotten selling it myself. I couldn’t be more pleased.

As advertised. took my skis there they listed them, they sold them, they sent me a check. The biggest work on my part was dropping off my skis and cashing the check

They mention how great their customer support is. Don’t believe it. I went on ebay and put in an offer for one of their products. The offers sits for 48 hours so I put my other purchase options on hold until they got back to me. I was hoping maybe after the first business day they would agree or reject it. Instead they just left it and ignored it. I wanted to be fair everyone and not want to move forward until I know for sure if my offer was to be rejected. Thanks Gear Movement for ignoring my offer, why add the option if you are just going to ignore it. Lots of good reviews on their ebay profile, most probably didn’t need their customer service but the negative reviews they did get were mostly customer service based, no answer until an action is taken by the customer like they hope it goes away and moves only when they have to. I gave them two stars because they do have a lot of stuff and it seems to be fairly priced just hope you don’t have any problems because they won’t answer you.

Yes. I am from Boulder. No, I don’t work for The Gear Movement. I simply like the convenience of being able to take my bike gear over their warehouse, knowing that it will be professionally cleaned photographed and sold on EBay. Otherwise it just lies around my garage. The Gear Movement handles everything in a clean, easy and friendly fashion. They sell gear quickly and I get a check in the mail. I enjoyed the experience so much that now I buy my used bike gear through them as well. So far I’ve purchased shoes, bike clothing, components and a high-end mountain bike. Contrary to the experience of other reviewers here I have exceptionally pleased with my dealings and would highly recommend this service.

It all started with an eBay ad for a set of «new» Mavic Cosmic Carbone SLR road bike wheels for $ 1400.00. I attempted to secure a better deal if we managed the transaction off of eBay, which the seller agreed to, after we agreed on the price. I made the payment using PayPal on a Thursday, expecting that my «new» wheels be shipped out the following day for the $ 45 they charged(typically bicycle wheels are usually $ 15-$ 35 to ship). Instead I receive an email stating they are doing inventory on Friday and will not be able to ship the wheels out until Monday… But you’re an eBay store, how much inventory can you possibly have that would consume your entire Friday? OK??? 4 days between the time I paid until you would be able to ship them? I attempted to call but was met with an unprofessional woman who appeared to be the owner Jordan’s girlfriend or something as she said, «he’s not available» in an annoying sarcastic tone. When I asked when he might be available, I was told«I don’t know» and to try back tomorrow… Jordan Schware the«owner» emailed me stating he would be able to make Saturdays post. That day came and went… I eventually got a response on Monday but there were little options but to pay to have them sent out 2nd day as I was leaving town that coming Thursday, and it was Monday, still no wheels or even a conformation. To have the wheels sent 2nd day meant paying an additional $ 38 on top of the original $ 45, now making it almost $ 80 for a wheel set that any other real shop would have had delivered by now for a 3rd of that, but what else could I do? So I paid the $ 38 bucks in anticipation for the wheels to arrive the Wednesday before I left town for a week. Of course that evening I received a tracking number for UPS Ground! with a 5 – 7 business day delivery… I called the next day to be met with the same annoying woman, I believe her name is Elizabeth who instead of being professional, considerate and apologetic simply said, «He’s in a meeting», when I asked when Jordan, the«owner» might be available I was told«I don’t know» again followed by excuses from the whole staff being in a meeting(a staff that consists of 3 people including Elizabeth as far as I can tell) to being told she didn’t know how to use the credit card machine to process my refund on the 2nd day shipping that never happened… Well Liz, you have poor customer service skills and can’t operate the machine designed to ring up sales… its no wonder you have a degree from Boulder College and are a useless receptionist, I digress… …Eventually Jordan, the«owner» called me back and seemed pretty sincere. He credited the $ 38 and even credited back the original $ 45 making it free ground shipping in the end. But my story doesn’t end here. Oh no, we’re just getting started. I went on my trip, to Colorado no less. I could have drove an hour and 15 minutes and picked up the wheels in person from where I was. No, instead I trusted that there would be no more surprises and even gave Jordan the opportunity to come clean about anything else I should know of with this wheel deal. «They are „new“ right?» to which I was told new, unused like the original eBay ad stated. I returned home from my trip excited to unbox my «new» wheel set only to find that I received a front wheel that was not only used, but was clearly crashed in an accident!!! Of course, I attempted to contact Jordan directly, this time on his cell phone(a Maryland number even though this shop is based in Boulder Colorado), yeah, no response so I called again, and again, and again. I left a message and you best believe words that rhyme with puck and hit were used. Still, no response so I decided to step it up a notch since they have a FaceBook page and I left my experience on their wall, as well as any pictured Jordan was tagged in like«You owe me $$$», «You sold me a broken wheel as new» etc… Of course Jordan had time to play on FaceBook and delete the comments and tags rather then return my call or process a refund and return authorization so I stepped it up a notch and filed a claim with PayPal which could take up to 30 days with little guarantee of a resolve. You know what finally worked? I had to literally bid on $ 40,000 of their other eBay auctions and low and behold, my phone rings, but it was too late, the damage was already done and I cursed Jordan out, demanding a full refund plus a return label or else. Jordan attempted to maintain composure but instead of coming off sincere this time just sounded like a canned recording. There’s only so many«excuses» I can take. Despite many threats I’m still out $ 1200 with no resolve and one crashed wheel but regardless of the outcome this company has lied and wasted enough of my time. Caveat Emptor. I will be in CO again one day…
