Nice haircut! She is superb! I like that straight razor neck shave, and the sccalp massage was really a joy, almost fall asleep. All the hot towels are came with peppermint, nice touch!

I walked in looking, quite frankly, gross. I walked out looking like a god.
My hair still looks great as it is growing out. Rose is very talented. She loves her work and it shows.
Also she played Mogwai while cutting my hair. +5 coolness points for that.
Finally, the peppermint scalp massage almost made me fall asleep, it was so relaxing. I’m looking forward to my next appointment.

Rose probably provides the greatest men’s haircut available on the planet.
I arrived hot, sweaty, mangy, ugly, my hair overgrown like a long-​neglected front lawn. Rose literally took my head in her hands and said, gently, «I’m gonna make you look sexy as f*ck.»
And she did. Rose is truly an artist; I did not see Michelangelo sculpt his David, but I watched Rose masterfully mold my hair and beard into manly perfection, which is close enough.
Rose may be the best barber in Boulder — she may even be the best barber in the world — but she is most definitely the best barber I have ever been to.
Plus, she gave me a free beer. Everyone loves free beer.

This was an amazing experience! I didn’t really know what I wanted, but she helped me get find the perfect cut. I also did the shave. Don’t think I’ve been smoother since I was a baby. I almost fell asleep during so needless to say it was kinda relaxing. Especially when there is a chick holding a blade to your neck. All in all she’s a badass and knows what she’s doing. If you can get an appointment I suggest you do!

I’m sorry to be leaving Sarah. I really, really like her. Tried to make it work, over several sessions. She’s VERY thorough, and the whole experience is interesting, different, and fun. Bottom line, though, is that I couldn’t get the haircut I wanted; it was the haircut she wanted to give me. Despite multiple specific requests, I always ended up with a topknot thatch that hung into my eyes. Great for an indie rocker, but not for a fifty-​something professional. I think I would still recommend her, but I came to the reluctant conclusion that she and I weren’t a good match.

That’s what she said both times I’ve been here. And guess what? Both times I came out looking sexy as fuck. This lady knows her craft and creates an awesome experience along the way. Free craft beer? Ambient prog metal music? Hell yeah! This place is amazing.

I’m so tired of having to pretend to be an expert on everything, when the truth is, I have no clue what jacket would best fit my back, would shoes would best fit my feet, what haircut would best cover my head. Yet every time I go to buy something, people insist on treating me like I know exactly what the duck I’m doing, forcing us to play an absurd game, where I pick something that looks mediocre at best, and they have to smile and nod; «Oh yes, that looks great. Now come and pay quickly, because I can only hold this fake smile for so long.»
Ms. Rose refuses to play that game, which is why I will be returning to the Lone Rose Barbering Co. at every necessary opportunity. Rose could tell before I even walked in the door that I had no idea what the hell I was doing with my hair, and preceded to not only give me the best haircut of my life, but helped to educate me as to why she was cutting my hair the way she was. Rose is, at heart, an educator, and she tailored the experience to meet me where I was at. She didn’t make me feel like a client, she made me feel like a best friend — she made me feel like I could tell her all of my insecurities, and then she used that intimacy to make me feel fantastic, confident, strong.
My only wish is that my hair would grow faster, so I can go back and share another amazing hour with Ms. Rose.

I don’t allow anyone else to touch my hair. Rose always works her hardest, never allowing someone to leave looking less than their best. All the while, making her hard work look effortless as she makes your stay with her comfortable and inviting. And in true barber fashion, always lending an ear to your current situations.

I don’t even know where to begin. This is more of an «experience» than a «haircut». To call it a haircut is to miss the point entirely. To tell you everything would be to spoil the surprise! Rose certainly takes great pride in her craft. I would highly recommend her for your next haircut.

I didn’t think my experience @ LR could get any better, until yesterday afternoon. I like to change up my style periodically and went in with an idea. Sarah took that idea, expanded on it, and left me looking like a rock star. She also showed me three different ways to style the ‘do: a more professional look for work and two weekend options that scream «let’s party.»

This is the first time in a few years that I’ve taken the time to actually write a review.
Let me start with the haircut. I have curly hair, but have kept my hair buzzed really short for the last few years because I just couldn’t get a cut that I liked anywhere.
I went to Sarah for the first time the other day, and she is absolutely awesome. She gave me the first haircut that I think I have ever truly liked in my life. Even if this were the only awesome thing about going here, I would have been happy… but there’s a lot more.
Booking an appointment was really easy. She offered me a free beer when I walked in. There was a great station playing on Pandora. Her salon is a closed-​off room, so it is really private and makes it easy to have a conversation.
Sarah is really blunt, funny, and just generally ‘real,’ which was a welcome change from the usual fake salon gossip bs. It’s obvious that she loves what she does and she is really talented at doing it.
If I end up moving to Denver, I will drive back up here just to get my hair cut.
Simply awesome. Could not recommend anyone more highly.

I showed up for my mid-​October haircut appointment and was surprised to be greeted by… Wonder Woman! Sarah immediately explained that she celebrates Halloween all month long!
She was a lot of fun, had great music, great technique, and I walked away with a terrific cut. You spend a bit more, but the experience and results really are worth it. Give her a try!

I booked a cut with Rose based upon the reviews on Unilocal,thinking she must be good if everyone is giving her 5-​star reviews. The reviews are right on!
Rose is completely awesome, funny, authentic and gave me ‘the best haircut I have ever had’ according to my wife. The entire experience was great and I will be back again soon!

I’ve had this beautiful lady cut my hair several times. She is a consummate professional. Her sense of style and skill set place her well above anyone in her area. I’d travel many miles for her to cut my hair. Book well in advance. It’s worth it.

Went there like 8 times and tipped 20%-30% every time — which is a lot when you see her prices. Then I show up one day and she wasn’t there and offered no apology, even though she charges extra when people are late. When I stopped going, she de-​friended me on facebook… kind of a weird relationship for a stylist/​business.
Besides that, good hair cuts at a high price.
