It’s a college meat market after 10 p.m., but if you get there beforehand and go up to the rooftop, it’s a great place for an early drink.

It’s all been said before, but I will also say snobby service, meat market atmosphere and jerk bouncers who are so used to having to throw out drunk undergrads that they treat all patrons poorly.

I’ve been to The Foundry before and it was OK, pretty good even… Went there last night for sunset drinks on the rooftop patio and it was pretty bad this time. The beer selection is mediocre at best and even though the menu has a plethora of choices we decided to split the nachos, with grilled chicken and added guacamole. The chicken was dryer than a piece of cardboard and the cheese was starting to get cold already, by the time the waitress brought them over. She forgot to bring us the salsa and sour cream that was supposed to come with the snacks and mumbled something about how those accessories come with the quesadillas when I asked for them. I will most likely skip this joint next time I am craving«pub food».

My husband and I went last month. Because it is summer we didn’t experience the crowds others mentioned. We enjoyed ourselves playing pool and watching the hockey game on the big screen. I can’t recall how much the pool or the drinks were, so I am not sure if it was overpriced. We will go back.

The not-aptly-named«Foundry Billiards Club» has about 2 pool tables. We were trying to find a good place to hang out the night before our friend’s wedding and the fact that it was a «billiards club» was key to the decision to come here. Being from out of town, we didn’t suspect that this would be a bust. No one seemed to be dancing and the music definitely took a while to ramp up. What pool tables there were, were full. Just not a good vibe. Beware people– pay attention to your Unilocal research because we sort of wandered in here and that turned out to be a big mistake as other reviewers have noted.

The Foundry has high ceilings, a ton of room around the pool tables, and a great rooftop in the warmer months. The only thing stuffy here is the crowd at times. The drinks are on the higher end for Pearl St. The bouncers are occasionally dicks, but they aren’t threatening. It’s generally crowded on Tuesday for 80’s night, but mostly empty on nights when they have live music playing. It’s usually pretty obvious if the Foundry’s not the place to be that night when you walk in. On its good nights, though, there is no place like the Foundry.

Even as a student, I refuse to go here. But if you want to be surrounded by drunk idiots, bad music, and snobby bartenders– go ahead. The only upside is the pool, but it’s so overpriced that you may as well go a few doors down to the Sundown.

This is place is awful. I end up here every time I come home, and every time I regret it. The layout has changed over the last year(the stage moved? or something), and it still sucks.

Why the hell do I keep going here? Oh right, some of my friends are friends with some of the bouncers. Were it not for that, I would never step foot in this place again. Here’s why: 1) I’m about a Mesozoic era too old to be seen here. I’m pretty sure half the girls got in using fake IDs. 2)I am usually not blitzed when I walk in here. It seems that prepartying for 5 hours is the requisite to set foot in this bar. 3)I am not a lady of the night that performs sexual acts for money or drinks or for the hell of it. This place is a meat market. If I want a good slice of beef, I’ll go to a specialty butcher shoppe, not a bar. 4)I don’t like to spend $ 4.50 on a Corona. This place has lowered standards, why don’t they have lower prices? If you want to go out in Boulder late night, I would really recommend trying almost any other bar and having this be your last choice. Unless you want to empty out your wallet and get and a case of the Herp.

«Meh» is right… After 4 years in Boulder, I think the real problem I have with The Foundry is that it has no character. It’s just very blah… never great, never awful, just OK. The roof is nice during summer but the overpriced drinks(compared to the rest of Boulder) suck some of the fun out of it. The one highlight is 80’s night… not bad…(Tuesday if I recall…)

Not enough to occupy my attention, even… Had a nice Cosmo once – that’s about all I got. Nothing more than this that would make me want to return. Met some friends of friends and they were… boring…

The Foundry used to be lots of fun. Now it’s a bit run down. The place needs a makover. Maybe I’ve just gotten older.

This place is amazing. I have never seen a better setup for pool and a bar. The drinks are great(a bit expensive), but the live music and the venue are unbeatable in Boulder.

This place is popular for college kids and really stupid guys. There are a lot of pool tables in the back and a smoking room but it doesn’t help out the crappy culture. Somehow this place manages to host the worst bands in the world and I have no idea why anyone would want to go for a show. I went here a bunch of times when I first moved to town and then realized that there was so so so much better…
