Fantastic pizza and service! Totally worth the drive from Manville! My husband and will definitely be back!

Starting going here 40 years ago with my parents. They have preserved the history which this place was built on. I now take my kids here. Very little has changed. Simple menu. We always get a few pies as they are on the smaller side. Love that they still use the old baby food jars for garlic, hot pepper, grated cheese, etc., which I remember when I was a kid. It’s cash ONLY. There is an ATM up front. Hey, its old school family tradition. We love it. I HIGHLY recommend you give it a try if you’ve never been there

Who would not rate this place 5 stars, Raquel G? This place is awesome. The birch beer is better than it used to be. The double cheese pie is awesome. What makes that better? Get light garlic on the double cheese pie.

Thin-crust bar pie isn’t for everybody, but I’ve been coming here with my family for pies since I was a toddler… I’ve become accustom to their pizza, and their dive atmosphere. If you’re looking for pizza in BB, this is a place you must try at least once!

The pizzas are«ok» — very thin crust — but not exceptional. I wouldn’t make another trip out to Bound Brook for it.(We were eating with friends and they chose this spot). Very casual. Service was speedy and polite. The birch beer was VERY good. The women’s bathroom is almost impossible to get into. They’ve wedged 2 booths in a way that getting into the bathroom would require you to be very tall, very thin, and very limber.

I don’t understand how anyone rates this place anything less than 5 stars. I actually want to write an angry letter to Unilocal because they won’t allow me to rate Chitch’s more than 5 stars. I am not being hyperbolic when I say that this is the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life. If I was on death row(and listen, I’m not ruling anything out), this would be my last meal. If terrorists were holding my mother captive and told me that I could save her life if I stopped eating Chitch’s pizza forever… well, I’d stop eating Chitch’s, but it would be a REALLYDIFFICULTDECISION. You MUST get the sausage combination pie. It tastes as good as Paul Newman looks. You know what goes well with that pie? Besides EVERYTHING? The birch beer. If I could make a baby with this pizza(and let me tell you, I’ve tried), I would probably eat my baby and feel no remorse. Anyone who rates this place less than 5 stars is either lying or in Al Qaida.

So I haven’t been here in over 30 years. This is the pizza place that my parents used to take us for when I was very young. I had the opportunity to stop by so I did and I was not disappointed. Besides the nostalgia factor, because it looks just about the same as it did 30 years ago, I was hoping for a good pie. The bartender was friendly and offered me a PBR on tap They even had the bowling shuffleboard game in the corner although it didn’t work. All three pieces came out quick, plain sausage and a works. The taste definitely brought me back one of the best pizzas around I will definitely come back

Very disappointed in my last experience with Stans, just not the same pie I was used to eating for so many years.

Excellent Jersey thin crust bar pie. The exterior might put one off and there are some quirky features(for example, you can’t order just peppers as a topping as they mix the peppers and onions together) but the delicious pizza makes it all worthwhile. I love how they chop most of the toppings finely — the sausage tastes amazing in fact. The staff is friendly though if you opt for eating in, its a bit of a local watering hole kind of crowd. The pies are on the smaller side(and a few slices go down quick easy!!) so take that into account if ordering for a few people.

The bar pie isn’t exactly«real» pizza, it’s aight but nothing special. It’s definitely a locals bar, middle-aged townie kinda place. You can only get pitchers of beer if you sit down in the dining room.

Tried this place last week and it was yummy. Parking on a private lot in the back, kitchy decoration, friendly service and delicious thin crust pizza. Tried the pepperoni, cheese, and sausage which were all very tasty. The pizzas were so thin that you(I) could eat several slices and not feel disgusting.

Stan’s Chitch’s has been around for decades, and I can see why. They make classic NJ bar pies. Thin crust with great types of toppings you can’t get anywhere else. The sausage goes on top without the casing and the pepperoni is tiny and delicious. While the pizza is great, the location isn’t the best. This place is an experience you have to try.

Authentic NJ style pizza. Quirky location and the inside will make you think of Goodfellows. Go for the ambiance alone.

Unique Italian sausage with fennel seeds made specific for Chitch’s. You will find this sausage pie ONLY at Chitch’s because it’s only made for them! Toppings are LOADED onto the thin crust pizza that you’ll have trouble seeing the cheese underneath! I’m particular to Italian sausage or green peppers/onion pie. I’ve been going to Chitch’s for close to 30 years and the place has almost the same look and warm feel for the entire time. Warm and welcoming staff, very down to earth crowd, and the pizza speaks for itself. This restaurant will never win an award for being a «fancy» pizza spot but has won my business for years to come. Was in Jersey recently for a wedding and ordered 10 pies for the family. Be warned, if you are any real pizza lover you can eat an entire pie by yourself!

Where the hell did the name for this place come from? Was the original owner named Stan Chitch? Is it because it is supposed to be a ‘kitchy’ kind of place? I found out that the original name was«Chitch’s Café», and when a guy named«Stan» bought it, he threw his name out front. Can’t make this stuff up. Regardless, the front is a very droll dining room with minimum decoration, and the bar is a cramped area that is fairly packed with regulars, all surrounding an old TV set. The whole place is poorly lit. The menu advertises a. microbrew they just got in from Texas called Shiner Bock; if memory serves me correctly, it was the only microbrew on the menu. The waitresses were very nice and do a very good job though. This may be an old bar, but it happens to make a good bar pie. The meatball pie isn’t perfect, but it is damned good. First off, the crust has a more substantial lip than other bar pies, even though the dough is stamped thin by a large machine in the kitchen. The cheese to sauce ratio is good, with the sauce relying on spices to stand out and the cheese having an appropriate amount of oil. I wasn’t expecting the meatball to be broken up throughout the pie though; «bolognese pie» might’ve been more accurate in that regard. The meat integrates wonderfully with the other ingredients even though there is a lot of it, being a cheesy, meaty soup of sorts on the thin crust; while eventually it helps get the crust soggy, the combo of meatines and crispness that is there initially is very unique. The NJ Pizza Patrol named this one of the best specialty pies in NJ, and I certainly see where they’re coming from. In my opinion, to get the best out of this pie, bring a group so it doesn’t have time to sit around(like they did). Grabbing pizza with a few friends and maybe some beer is generally a good strategy for life, and it holds true here. Just check your pretension at the door and keep expectations reasonable, and you’ll be fine here.

Quirky little bar w/a pizza parlor dining room attached. The pizza is ok bar food, thin crust, but no element of crunch. A few tvs playing sporting events, a down-home wait staff, Yuengling on tap. If youre in Bound Brook and you want a pitcher and a snack, you could do worse.

Chitch’s seems like it has been around as long as the town itself(which was founded in 1681, so that’s saying something). It can generously called a dive, but that is part of its charm. When you go into the place it is like stepping back to the 50’s or 60’s. It is broken up into two areas, the bar and the restaurant. Chitch’s is known for their pizza. The crust is ultra thin although it is not crispy like you may expect. It has the same texture as a normal NJ style pizza, but is paper thin. The sauce is super garlicky which I don’t care for, but they are pretty generous with the toppings. While many swear by their pizza, I think it is merely ok. They sell other food but I can’t comment on it as I’ve never eaten anything other than the pizza. They do offer take out, but my suggestion is to get a pie at the bar with a couple of pitchers of beer.

YUM!!! They have very, very, good pizza. This is my go to place for a pie… *The Crust — Slightly thin, not doughy or incredibly thick, pretty much perfect! *The Sauce — Excellent, not chunky, nice smooth marinara, w/a great taste! *The Cheese — Obviously mozzarella, not too salty, pretty much run of the mill. *The Toppings — They are prolly most famous for their ground sausage and white pie, which are both delish by the way, and also you can’t find that style around anywhere else. But my favorite has to be the meatball, they’re not small little slices of a meatball like most places, they’re nice chunky pieces with great flavor. *The Price — Plain pie is $ 10, toppings vary but mostly around $ 12 – 13 a pie, and you could eat a pie yourself. I’ve never had anything else from here but their pizza, oh ya and their beer, which they have PBR off the tap, which is delish as well! Great place, with friendly, happy service that makes you feel like a regular that’s been going there for years! The only downside is it’s cash only, but well worth the trip to the ATM. Overall Chitch’s is outstanding. HIGHLYRECOMMENDTOANYBODY!!!

Awesome thin crust pizza. My parents went on dates here when they were in college, and when I’m home from Philly I eat here. Added bonuses: this building is shaped like a triangle so the booths are shaped weirdly and they used to have an awesome Budweiser lamp that had snow and horses in it.
