Spanky’s is the hole in the wall kind of place we all hope to stumble upon. They have the freshest veggies to top off your sandwich as well as a great selection of deli meets. The high school special is a favorite of mine. Sandwich, chips or cookie and a drink for $ 5.

I love going to Spanky’s– they are great piled high sandwiches, you get a lot of food for what you pay. The kids working their are fun to chat with.

I went here while visiting my daughter because it was highly recommended by workers at a nearby business. The servers were reasonably friendly but got our order wrong. The food was not bad but the place was incredibly dirty making it difficult to stomach the food. The floor looked like it had not been mopped in weeks and there was an open bag of trash laying in the back just a few steps from the soda dispenser. All tables were dirty despite servers standing around visiting with one another. What a shame! Could be pretty good if they would clean it up!

I got the Turkey Bacon Avocado. The meat seemed like your average grocery store deli meat. It was good but not memorable. None of the sandwiches here can be toasted either. The real tragedy here is how disgusting the place is. We couldn’t find a clean table and had to settle for the least dirty. Also, the floor looked like it hadn’t been mopped in 3+ weeks and the drink station area was sticky and disorganized.

It is a good place to eat. Flavorful sandwiches. For me too much meat. Sandwich so big I couldn’t fit it into my mouth. I am not a fan of all the contents falling out with each bite. Not much flavor. By the time I got home the bottom was soggy. If I eat there and take off lots of the ingredients I would go there again. They have salads and ice cream and i think soup. I ordered the student special and glad that was an option. $ 5 total. Came with a drink and cookie or chips and 6 in. Girls were nice. I hate subway because I always smell funny after I leave. Thankfully didn’t have to worry about that here.

Very subway-esque but really good for what it is! Love that they are inexpensive and locally owned.

Great food– the restaurant is chilly– which is the only reason for 4 as opposed to 5 stars.

I seems like most of the reviews here are from family or friends. The prices are great. The bread is good but in general the sandwiches are small and the meats and cheeses are on par with subway. I also felt like the kitchen behind the line was dirty. In summary, the staff is friendly but my sandwich was just Okay and I wouldn’t likely return.

OK, I read the reviews and was excited to try this place. The people were nice, the atmosphere is laid back, and the sandwiches are just ok. I saw the reviews about«tons of meat» and«better than Subway», but I got the exact same amount of meat as I get at Subway. Four slices of pastrami and four slices of turkey on an 8″ sammy. It was good, but only marginally more so than Subway and the sandwich and a drink cost over 10 dollars. Sorry Spanky’s, I wanted to love you.

I absolutely love this place for 3 main reasons: 1. The price! It is very reasonably priced for the freshness and amount you get. 2. They pack on the meat and veggies. LOVE that. 3. The girls that work there most evenings are very friendly and I have always gotten great service. Ok, ok I guess there are four main reasons. 4. The Farr’s ice cream that is less than 2 bucks for a generous amount. Can’t beat that. My husband and I have a couple sandwiches, chips and a drink for between $ 10 – 13 every time!

Pretty good sandwich place. A bountiful staple! Not too busy usually. Lots of sandwich options. Haven’t tried their soups. They have ice cream too!

I love this place. I go there all the time. The sandwiches are good, and the staff is friendly. They also have a good selection of sandwiches. You could get a 6, 8 or 12 inch on different kinds of bread. It’s the perfect local small business that serves a good product.

Fantastic place to eat with friends and family. What I really love about this place as opposed to other sandwich places is the fact that they pack on the meat! I love it! Can’t go back.

Today was just my first time at Spanky’s, but I will be back! I tried the chicken salad. I am not sure what they could have done to make it any better. It tasted wonderfully fresh and they were generous in all of the things they put on the sandwich! $ 5 for a 6″ sandwich, small drink, and chips or a fresh cookie is a great deal!

Looking for a great sandwich with plenty of meat and toppings at a reasonable price, this is the place. Spanky’s is a local shop, not a chain, that is always a bonus. I use to eat at Spanky’s weekly when they had a shop in Kaysville that was in route to my home, now that they are in Bountiful and out of my way it has been years since I had one of their awesome sandwiches. Stopped in for lunch it was a bit busy but they had two people making sandwiches so the line moved quick. I ordered a number 7 which comes with Ham, Turkey, Roast Beef and Pastrami. Unlike the chains where the more meats you order the less of each you get, Spanky’s piles on plenty of each meat resulting in a 6 inch sandwich weighing in well over a pound. The meats are good quality and the bread is very good. I can’t speak for the veggies since I went with meat and cheese only. They do have plenty of condiment options including mayo, 3 – 4 kinds of mustard, etc. For an awesome, plentiful, tasty reasonably priced sandwich Spanky’s is hard to beat.

Yet another sandwich peddler, this one set inside a mini mall sort of thing. Ambiance on the outside is curious but inside, a bit disheveled, though I think they’re going for the old time malt shop sort of flavor(think Happy Days). Service here was spectacular. It’s one of the few times I’ve been motivated to tip a sandwich maker, but the care she put into that sandwich was undeniable. Sandwich itself wasn’t anything special and the work area behind the sneeze shield was frankly a bit sloppy. The ham and turkey were mostly misses, but the roast beef and especially the pastrami were definitely on point. The veggies were also ok, nothing too great one way or another. One of the bigger distinguishing things about this was the mass quantities. No, it’s not on the borderline insane level of Grove’s but trying to eat the sandwich one-handed basically resulted in me having a fistful of meat, which wasn’t displeasing in the slightest, of course. It was a pretty tasty, very filling sandwich overall, but even the 8″ was sort of pushing the amount of food I really want for lunch. They definitely are not skimpy at all and you do get quite a lot of value for the sandwich money. Cookies are quite good and the usual chips and fountain sodas are also here. While this is not something I would drive out of the way for, I wasn’t dissatisfied, though realistically. it’s not good enough for me to make a regular lunch spot and were it not for the exemplary service, this probably would have been closer to 3 stars.

Don’t waste your time or money at Subway or Quiznos cause this place has delicious subs at an affordable price. They have a student special for only $ 5 every day that includes a drink and a cookie(or chips)…and anyone can order it. Enjoy!

A 5 star rating for SLC — –as good as it gets for Salt Lake City(which requires you to «bump» everything up a star relative to bigger cities). I come here at least once a week, sometimes twice a week. The staff here is quite friendly and they make tasty sandwiches. You can pick up a 6″ pastrami sandwich for about $ 5.39 + tax. They have nice sandwich and soup combos that run about $ 6.75(sandwich, soup, and drink). There isn’t a ton of ambience here, but it is North Salt Lake City. Expect to see local workers, high school students(avoid from noon to 1 to beat the student rush) and plump blue eyed stay at home Mormon moms ordering sandwiches for 3 – 5 blue eyed rugrats. Decent view of the NSL hills from some of the tables. Great ice cream here for $ 1.15 a scoop. Make sure to get a «Spanky’s card» — after 10 purchased sandwiches, they will hook you up with a freebie. And apparently, you’ll get spanked??? Always a good time to watching wholesome Mormons blushing at the thought of getting spanked … Recommended.

Good prices for a quick sandwich. There are lots of toppings and condiments, which I appreciate. And I like the whole old diner feel. However, the meat is not my favorite. Very friendly staff.

Spanky’s is a good solid sandwich shop. They pile your sammie high with lots of meat and veggies. The prices are very low for the quality and quantity of food they give you. The employees are super friendly and helpful. Yay! I’m a fan.
