This is THE place to get fresh oysters. It is snuggled into a bay on this beautiful island. The staff was fabulously helpful and answered my numerous questions with patience and pride. They offered small and medium oysters the day that I visited that were shucked right there in front of me. I also purchased prawns and pickled fish… YUM! *NOTE– I visited other oyster vendors and by far Blau Oyster Co was the most quaint, friendliest and up close experience. ** TSA allows you to fly with oysters as long as they are not pureed or in a paste.

Very fresh oysters! Often went there 10 years ago before moving and this time coming back, still have great oysters and kindly services. Miss this place sooooo much!

Clams and oysters straight out of the ocean– How can it get better? I’ve been coming to Blau’s for years and have always been satisfied. The oysters and clams are as fresh as you can get. The workers are friendly and there are always locals hanging out. Keep in mind they close at five so get there well before that in case they run out of what you are looking for. If you want mussels, order them by Monday and they’ll have them by Wednesday.

We came by here today after seeing them listed on a map from a local visitor’s center. The drive from Burlington to the bay was beautiful. We got there late, about 2 hours before closing so most of its good were sold out. They carried only Pacific variety which is pretty meaty even for the S size. We just bought 12 to eat on the spot since we were passing through. We saw buckets of large ones outside and they sell for about $ 30? for 50 L pcs. Wish I could have bought them… but no way to prep them…sigh.next time we’ll get a b

Ok so I’m not joking when I say this but our oysters from Blau Oyster Co. are STILLGOOD to eat! I’m not messing around. We bought them 2 days before we left WA to go back to CA and we left for CA on the 30th of December. I had heard that they could last long but not this long!!! Dios Mio. I should have bought more!
