Stopped by here on a recommendation from Hampton Inn across the street. The food was awesome! Recommend the Princess Soup — big enough for a meal. Highly recommend to anyone.

Not expecting too much for this local Chinese restaurant, but the food was fairly good, standard Chinese fare. They also offered sushi. service was quick and pleasant. Nothing special, but convenient and pretty good. I still want to know why fortune cookies no longer typically contain fortunes… more commentary style…

I arrived around 7:30 pm and the place wasn’t busy. Took a while to get seated. The waitress wasn’t the friendliest and unfortunately I could not understand her when I asked about the menu. Could have just been me. I ordered a beer and the glass she brought me was dirty. I unwrapped my napkin and my fork was dirty. The General TSO chicken I ordered was really sweet and tasted like it was microwaved. The plus side was that the beer was cold and the atmosphere was nice.

Went last night because my wife wanted Sushi and it was relatively close to home. Here are my observations. Outside is reasonably attractive. As soon as you walk in the disappointment level increases. The carpets are tired, dirty and frayed. The walls look like they were painted by a child. Water stains in the ceiling and walls. Just didn’t look clean. The Hostess greeted us with indifference. Not rude, but not really welcoming either. Isn’t that her job? The Server was reasonably attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu. He appeared to be the only Server working in the dining room. The food was good. My wife was pleased with her Sushi. My appetizer /dinner was far less than acceptable. this is the third time that I have visited this facility and have been underwhelmed each time. I suspect that I will find someplace else to enjoy a midweek night out for dinner.

The restaurant is clean and staff are attentive. The chef is very accommodating. I did not see Kung Pao chicken on the menu. I was able to request it and it was made. The food is not gourmet by any means. The rice is super greedy and the chicken can be fatty. It did hit the spot though and left me full.

Chen Yang Li of Bow is one of my go-to spots for pretty good Chinese and Japanese food at moderate prices. I also visit Chen Yang Li in Nashua quite often too. I can order Chinese takeout from here during my lunch break and get back to work in time. As another reviewer noted, the evening prices($ 15+) here are a lot higher than the lunch prices with 52 Chinese lunch specials(before 3PM) offered for $ 7.25-$ 11.50. This establishment offers a full bar and lounge, which is the only game in Bow. I remember going to Club JJ with my buddies several years ago. The carpeted dining room is clean and casual. There is also a sushi bar too. On a recent visit for lunch, I decided to dine-in and was promptly seated at a table(covered with a white linen cloth and utensils wrapped in a linen napkin). The waiter brought out ice water and fried crunchy noodles with duck sauce & hot Chinese mustard. For lunch, I ordered Combination Lunch Special L44 Sesame Beef($ 10.50 plus tax) served with Veg Fried Rice, 3 Chicken Fingers, 2 Crab Rangoons, and Chicken Corn Soup. The soup came out first, which was served hot with a mix of whipped egg, corn, and small pieces of boneless chicken in a thick starchy broth. The main entrée came out shortly after I finished my soup. The portion of food was a good amount, enough to finish in one sitting. The sesame beef consisted of 4 breaded pieces of tender beef covered with a thick sweet sesame sauce and fresh broccoli. The golden chicken fingers had white boneless chicken strips coated with a thick deep fried batter. The crab rangoons were folded open were crispy on the outside with a sweet cheese & crab fillling inside. The vegetable fried rice(served in a separate bowl) had a soft texture with a mix of carrot, onion, and egg. The service was good on my recent visit. The waiter was standing close by my table and refilled my ice water glass and cleared my table promptly when I was done. The lunch check and fortune cookie was presented shortly after.

A couple of us went here. … I am from out of town. The Bartender was fantastic! The teriyaki chicken, yummy. The food went downhill after the first drink… Steamed dumplings, doughy and tough. The entrees: crispy sesame chicken and tangarine beef; served with fried rice — rancid $ Stale, Dry, inedible. Bartender +10 Food: go somewhere else!

I had a hankering for Chinese food the other evening, and as I was at the Hampton Inn right across the street, it was very convenient. They don’t deliver, regardless what it says on Unilocal so I settled for takeaway. I can’t say much about the restaurant, but the short time I was there it seemed nice — very large. For some reason there are three bars, one behind the cashier’s area, a second one up a flight of stairs, and then a pub in the basement. There was so much food! I swear I got 2 lbs of shrimp fried rice(a large order). There was some confusion on the egg rolls. Apparently one comes with the meal but I only got two even though I thought I made it clear I wanted two plus the one. No big deal-just something you may want to ask about. My order didn’t come with hot mustard, so if this is something you like, you need to specify. They had a sign at the register about charging for it, but I got it for free, again just be aware.

Was there on a Tuesday night. Good was awful. Service worse. I asked the waitress for a recommendation among a few vegetarian entrees. Based on her answer, I ordered the mushroom dish. It was tasteless and in a gluey brown saucy. It is really hard to produce bad miso soup, but this restaurant did! My friends lo me in was greasy, vegetable dish came in a tasteless white glue and was mostly celery, and fried rice was dry. Dreadful and expensive. Service was some of the worst I’ve had in a while. It wasn’t busy and there were 3 wait staff including our rude, dismissive, and inattentive waitress. She forgot rice and took 10 minutes to bring it, never refilled water glasses in spite of my request, and generally ignored us. A 10% tip was generous considering. I have been to other chen yang li restaurants and although not stellar, they were acceptable with good service. This experience suggests that quality varies place to place. I don’t be going back.

I always choose the takeout option, unless I enjoy a few beers. The food here is some of the best Chinese food I have had(definitely the best egg rolls). I consider this high praise since I used to live in Jersey and New York where Chinese food competition is steep. I don’t eat Sushi, so can not elaborate on that. The restaurant itself is nice, with decent bar down stairs. Only negative is the food can be on the pricey food side, but in this case, the saying you get what you pay for holds true.

Upon completion of my last bite of sushi and sip of beer, a pregnant cockroach strolled across sushi bar right in front of me. Waiter nonchalantly killed with his hand and went right back dinner he was eating. So bummed I ate here right now. Beware.

Was at the Hampton Inn across the street when someone came into the lobby after visiting this place, saying they saw two roaches crawling around the place. While I haven’t been there I think this qualifies as a 1 star rating given there serving sushi…=not good

It was a way better than Chinese take out. The value for the price was pretty good. Did not try the sushi because the menu was limited in comparison to what we are use to.

Good Mai Tais. Waiter Steve guided me to the perfect dish(filet of beef). A great choice if you’re staying at the Hampton Inn across the street.

This is a review of the location in Bow. First the good. Nice interior. Clean and slightly upscale. Food is average. Now the bad. Evening prices are double(around $ 15 to $ 22) for the same meal you can get before 3:30PM for(around $ 9 to $ 12). It’s not a HUGE amount, just average. The quality of the food is average. As others have stated, service is poor. No attempt at being friendly or caring. So for those reasons I can’t say I’d go back. Nothing original or outstanding to make you want to return.

I was so pleased to happen upon this restaurant(well, thanks to Unilocal that is) which was just lovely. The area where it is located is right off a freeway and a few miles from the nearest small town so did not lend itself to many dining possibilities. Well, this place certainly filled the void with an extensive Asian fusion menu of Chinese, Thai and Japanese fare. I think every picky eater and those with any kind of dietary restriction could easily find something on the 10+ page menu. The service was efficient, the décor was old-school yet spacious and the food was up to snuff. Should I find myself in Bow, NH again in the future, I would surely revisit Chen Yang Li.

The restaurant is nicely situated next to a river offering scenic views from the inside. The entrees are made with fresh quality ingredients that you can tell right off the bat. We ordered a tons sushi and several seafood entrees. My favorite was the shrimp stir-fried with thinly sliced ginger and scallions. The staff are friendly and helpful with their recommendations.
