Unilocal won’t let me give a zero star, so subtract this one star yourself. My significant other and I went to the Edison Café on Friday, October 23rd, 2015. We’d been to the Edison Café many times in the past and enjoyed it immensely. It was considered one of our favorite places. This visit was not enjoyable at all and we’re never going back. When we walked in, my significant other said«it smells like grease» and it never had been that way on previous visits. The menu was shortened and many excellent items were no longer offered. My SO ordered the eggs breakfast and I ordered the patty melt. I asked the waitress what about the menu and she said the new owners changed it. There’s the rub: new management. When the food came, we were saddened at the lack of quality. My SO reported the eggs were bland, the hash browns tasted weird and no more homemade jam, it was those smuckers mini packs. My patty melt was a preformed patty, probably a COSTCO brand or(more likely) a cheaper one, that was unevenly cooked, with red, raw parts in it. The ketchup came in a well-hot dishwasher washed container(the clear plastic was almost white in places) and was watered down. Who waters down ketchup? The fries were the only thing that was hot and crisp. We ate just a few bites, paid the bill and left, completely disgusted that a cherished restaurant has gone completely into the dump. Denny’s wouldn’t serve this level of food. Any Denny’s is five stars compared to this. I predict the place closes within 6 months unless the new management actually does something like hire a competent chef and work on getting quality back into the café. Either way, we won’t be back.

Stopped for burgers and fries. Burgers were pre-pressed and low quality. I swear the ketchup was watered down, and the ketchup container looked like it had been washed and refilled about a hundred times. Nobody got sick, but everybody felt gross after eating there. Such a bummer as there are so many great places to eat around here.

Just not the same since the new owners took over, unfortunately. Even though we were the only table in the restaurant it took over 25-minutes to get our breakfast. And then the quality just wasn’t what it used to be. Smaller portions and kind of mediocre. We won’t be back.

So sad… we were willing to drive 25 minutes to our one of our all time favorites for breakfast many times in the past. Alas no more… new ownership has definitely had an impact. After waiting 40 minutes for our order we couldn’t wait any longer. There were two tables who were still waiting that were in front of us. The cook did send out half the order for one table while the other half had received nothing, the food cooing because you know, you sat down together, you want to eat together. The back of the house appears to be the problem. They need a qualified cook that can turn out orders in less than what we waited. While we waited we saw how long it took for the people in front of us got food. Just unacceptable. So can’t tell you about how the food tasted but I can tell you they now have those jam tubs rather than fresh jam. Sorry Roxie, we’ll miss your fabulous personality.

A friendly and homey environment visited by Edison residents and travelers alike… The servers are beyond hospitable, and the food is local and tastes amazing! Noise level is nice and quiet. The waitress even gave me and my three friends on a bike ride some complimentary coffee with our meals.

This restaurant has some of the best«homestyle» cooking I’ve ever had. I eat here twice a week! I grew up in the Midwest with meat and potatoes, so this little gem was just the ticket. Their ‘big as a plate’ pancake is massive! The Reubens are to die for… they cook their own corned beef in house. All the dressings and soups, etc are made from scratch! How many places can I go to that do that as well as the Edison? Haven’t found one yet! They have a cook that makes the most out-of-this world biscuits and gravy… too bad it was a special. I’d eat that every day! Their seafood chowder(Served on Friday and Saturday) is amazing and the staff is funny, friendly and efficient. Don’t expect fast food… expect to go to Grandma’s house and get happy!

This was my third time to the Edison Café, and the food is just as good as I remember the first two times. I got two breakfast items because I couldn’t decide between the french toast and the eggs, toast(fresh from the bakery down the road), spuds, and bacon. My son got the«big as your plate» pancake(which it was), the hubs got the pancake, with a side of eggs and sausage, and my mom got the reuben sandwich. My mom must have said«Mmm!» a good half a dozen times. Connie, our server, was fantastic and kept the coffee refills coming. I love the black and white photos on the wall of some of the farmers that used to frequent the café back in the day. I can’t wait until we go back!

The Oysterburger and BLATT sandwiches were great, excellent salad and fries also. We’ll definitely stop again.

Lisa, the owner, is the bee’s knees of down-home cooking and hospitality. Staff is efficient, friendly, funny, professional… how lucky is that!!! The food is always cooked to simple perfection, no pretensions, just great flavor. The Edison Café is the best place for a good meal in Edison.(But, I have to admit, the FM Bakery on the«other side» of town has nummy desserts — try their polenta lime cake. Num.)

What a great stop in a quirky little town! The food was excellent and very well prepared. The atmosphere is clean, unique and had a very ‘down home’ feel. My asparagus soup was out of this world! As was the egg salad sandwich and chicken sandwich. We will definitely make this a regular stop!

I really like Edison Café. It’s in a relaxed location, really low key, right in the hub of hopping hustling Bow-Edison(ha ha). It’s a cozy intimate place with 7 tables and 5 bar stools. It’s on school land so they’re not allowed to serve alcohol. Yummy menu with daily specials. Really nice service. Like the ladies, like the café. Totally worth whatever effort it takes you to get there. Prices are reasonable. Sharing is acceptable. Breakfast is served all hours. Oh and you can rent the space and even hire them for catering. Two thumbs up!

Great little small town café with fresh local foods. Home made tarragon dressing is wonderful on their green and pasta salads. Wednesday bistro nights offer a limited # of delicious entrees. Staff & owner always friendly & efficient. Been there 5 times & never disappointed.
