I usually don’t leave reviews, but I had to after my experience with this stylist. I saw that she had a Groupon for $ 20 for a flat iron and wash on natural hair and thought I’d give it a try. Groupon had a sale today, but she said the normal Groupon was $ 29. I already have a natural salon that I frequent, but I think it’s always good to have a back up if your first choice is booked. When I called, she told me not to buy the Groupon and she would give me the Groupon rate anyway. The stylist arrived to my appointment 15 minutes late. It’s not even that she was working on another client– that I could understand– no, she just wasn’t there. Once she arrives and proceeds to work on my hair, she tells me that my hair is tangled and that she’s need to charge me extra to detangle my hair. I had old flat twists in my hair, so I’ll admit it was a LITTLE tangled but nothing serious. I don’t have a really tight curl pattern. I’m like OK, thinking it will only cost a few extra bucks. Most natural salons charge no more than $ 20 for detangling even the most tangled hair. The shampoo girl washes my hair well but without a deep condition or treatment. The stylist did an OK job on my hair– I’ll admit it looks nice but nothing special. It’s time to checkout and she tells me $ 79??? She charged me $ 50 extra to essentially spray some water on my hair and comb it(which is what you are supposed to do anyway when getting your hair done). Needless to say I will not be back. I was highly upset at the inflated and unexpected price. I could have gotten the same style at my regular natural salon with a deep condition for MUCH less. There are plenty of salons out here that won’t overcharge in order to get the remainder of the original cost from the«discount.» If I could post this without a star I would.
