Hunan Delight

It’s a take-​out place people. Good food, just call ahead. Dumplings, kung Pao, sesame chx all very tasty.

Hunan Delight was our go-​to Chinese food restaurant for take out and delivery. Not anymore!!! We had to wait over an hour for our food and when we finally got it, the order was wrong. We called and they refused to help in any way!!! What a disappointment! I would have given them negative stars if I could!!!

I love this resturant! the food is good and so is the service. I highly recommend it.

Odered delivery here because i was told that the food was good. The food came before the eta but i would have rather them take longer and make the food fresh. my chicken with cashew had black cashews, the green peppers in the kung pao chicken were soft and dark green. Take pride in what you guys serve.

Dirty disgusting First time we have stopped in to order and I’m not even hungry anymore. don’t want to imagine inside the kitchen piss on bathroom floors sink and trash can

They seem to be really busy since that other Chinese place in the Marketplace got razed. 45 min. minimum now, whereas used to be 15 min. :(

The fried rice tastes really dry and the rice is undercook. The front girl cashier is rude. She’s the same person who answers the phone. They don’t drain the egg roll after they deep fry it so ur getting a very oily egg roll when u bite into it. My friend and I always bought the generals chicken combo here, but for some reason it does not taste the same. It’s not as crunchy anymore. Also the service he changed.

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. If it takes a while for them to answer the phone, it is because it is ringing off the hook. I have never eaten inside, but getting take out from here for 10 years. Good basic Chinese food. Good portions. Good flavor. You can see the whole kitchen from the take out counter, so they are not hiding anything. I’m glad we have a place like this in Bowie. I will never understand why people who have not eaten in a place feel they can write a review.

I was surprised by the quality of their food. usually most Chinese restaurants are a hit or a miss. We were passing through the area, hungry tired, and decided reluctantly to pick up a quick carry out. Reluctant. because of the outside location between a taco bell and a closed down shopping center. We thought a one time carryout order won’t hurt anything. We ordered chicken chow mein and beef broccoli combo, and an egg drop soup. I can normally tell if the food will be good if the egg drop soup is good. I had some soup in the car and was not disappointed. Surprisingly the chicken chow mein and the beef broccolli were not too bad either. The prices were reasonable for a Bowie, Md location. I am glad I did not judge that book by it’s cover.

I just don’t go into places that don’t look right — for instance, the front windows here are filled with busted window shades. If you can’t get your front window right, I wonder what goes on in the kitchen. So I’m not going for Chinese food here. It’s possible to get a wheelchair through the doorway but they both open out onto the sidewalk which is narrow and the ramped area is far away. Unless you’ve got a real craving, pass it by.

Decent food horrible customer service!
When we first moved to the area we ordered from here all of the time, despite the frosty attitudes. Eventually we started ordering from a place in Crofton because the customer service was so much better. Fast forward three years and we decide to give Hunan Delight another chance… BIG MISTAKE!
We placed a delivery order at 7:30pm, which took forever because we kept being put on hold, we waited 45m for our food to be delivered only to find out they screwed up one of the orders. When we called we were told we had to wait another 45m for a new order OR come back for it the next day… WTH?
They wouldn’t take the charge for the incorrect item off of my card so we had to wait the 45m, why should I have to wait when you screwed up my order??? It’s now after 9pm and we’re still waiting for the right food to be delivered.
If your food tastes the same as the four other Chinese restaurants in the area but your customer service SUCKS why should I waste my time and money ordering from you?
Won’t make the mistake of ordering from Hunan King again!

The Generals Tso Chicken is excellent. I also enjoy their shrimp egg foo young and shrimp and broccoli in garlic sauce. Do NOT order their beef and broccoli. It’s a disgustingly unpleasant consistency — the beef that is.
The owner (the woman who normally takes orders) isn’t overly pleasant, but their service is usually quick; both delivery and carryout.

Its less than a block from my house, and its take-​out Chinese… Need I say more? LOL!
Wife really enjoys their Veggie Fried Rice, Egg Rolls and Terryaki Chicken, I am a Gen Tso’s guy… Either Shrimp or Chicken… I enjoy both of them at Hunan!!!
Their delivery is pretty slow, especially since I live right around the corner, so we take-​out.

Decent, in-​a-​pinch takeout place. Not the greatest location, but not un-​safe.
Friendly service, quick turnaround for takeout orders. Fried foods can be a bit greasy. Otherwise, your standard Americanized Chinese menu.
