Mama Cocoa’s Delights

I’ve been to your booth at the local farmers market, but I wanted to see what creations were in your store. After I navigated through the antique shop I found your lovely little shop. Honestly I think the smell of chocolate lead me there. I bought a large box of truffles to take to a party with me. I loved the available flavors! When I arrived at the party and set the truffles out they were gone in minutes. The guests LOVED them! Many wanted seconds. Very nicely done, I’ll be back.

My wife and I started coming here a couple of years, and were so pleased to find such quality chocolate so close to us. Success has followed Mama Cocoa since then, and it is well-​deserved.
I would go further and state that Mama Cocoa is my favorite home-​grown local business. Great products, great personality and still so much potential. I can’t wait to see where the business goes in the next few years.
So do yourself a favor and go check out Mama Cocoas products. The place is hard to find in Old Town Bowie… you really have to look for the sign, but at least the new sign is easier to find. Or you can go to the Bowie Farmers Market on Sundays next to the high school.

I love Mama Cocoa’s. My favorite is the Dream Cookie. It’s simply amazing. I special ordered some larger ones so I could use them in making ice cream sandwiches! They turned out great a truly awesome treat. The chocolate, toffees, and lollipops are also great. My wife is a big fan of the Earle Grey. I like the Aztec Spice. My daughter Loves the Strawberry Soda lollipop.
I’ve ordered a box of chocolates for my wife each of the paste few Valentines Days. It’s great being able to select the different chocolates to personalize the gift.
The shop is also making more baked goods which is wonderful. I have ordered cakes and mini cupcakes for special events. They’ve all been great. I’m happy to say I was a patron of the shop well before the well deserved win on Sweet Genius.

I am a big fan of Mama Cocoa’s. The buttery chews and the fig chews are soooo good. If I could get away with it, I would eat them every day. The buttery chews literally melt in your mouth.
I found out about them because one of my clients requested Mama Cocoa’s truffles for their wedding favors. The staff at Mama Cocoa’s (especially the owner, Tamara) were so nice and very helpful. They allowed the bride to pick whatever combination she wanted. Their pricing was affordable, and their presentation of the wedding favors was adorable. I wish I could work with them all of the time!
My only recommendation — Better signage out front. Other than that, they are perfection.

Every dessert here is amazing! I love cupcakes and Mama C’s cupcakes are wonderful. They are a little addicting as well. =)

I met Mama C at the Bowie Farmer’s market when I was supposed to be getting some veggies. However, who says that chocolate and veggies don’t mix. If you do, DON’T COMMENT ;). Well I am a dark chocolate fan, but Tamara was all out. As a major supporter of Black Owned Businesses, I decided to pick up something. I can’t recall what I got, but it was GOOD. So far, I have tried the following bars: Island Dream, Jazzy Java, Melody and Super, the lime macaroons, truffles and the fig Kellys. I did NOT eat them all — BELIEVE me as I am a sharer. I will continue to patronize this shop, Mama C is a doll!

Learned about this shop on non stop dc before I knew anything about the sweet genius contest win. The chocolates are scrumptuous and unusual. My favorites: into the woods — a Basil/​blueberry fill in a dark chic shell; and aztec spice– cayenne pepper kick with dark chocolate. My husby loves the fig kelli. Co workers raved about the choc chip cookies. Before the shop was in super demand after winning sweet genius I was fortunate to have ordered and tried a couple cakes. Black Forest was unbelievable. Rich and dense chocolate cake bursting with black cherries and topped with an amazing whipped cream frosting. But again I’m very happy to keep a box of assorted chocs on hand for special treat and to order for gifts. A friend shared that the candy freezes well. Also recommended to a friend who ordered as wedding favors.

We stopped by after hearing about their WIN on Food Network’s «Sweet Genius». We tried the Dark Chocolate Almond Toffee — incredible! One of the best toffee candies I’ve ever had in along time — buttery flavor with just enough crunch. We also tried their coco chews which are excellent! And something different for us, Tamara recommended the Summer Heat — instant noodle brittle with a hint of cayenne — surprisingly VERY delicious! Definitely will be stopping by more often!

I stopped by her stand at the Bowie Farmer’s Market today and boy was I PLEASED! It was our last stop before we were leaving the market, so we decided to check it out! My daughter wanted some chocolate chip cookies, so we indulged! then my mother and I saw the last box of dark chocolate toffee crunch! Mama C told us it was her last box and it was only 9 :30 ish, which means they were moving like hot cakes! Being toffee lovers, we bought the last box of toffee.
I am in LOVE with these toffee candies! They are simply amazing! And dark chocolate too, I am a believer now! I am not a dark chocolate fan either! Mama C has a new fan! The Toffee is softer than what I expected, not too sweet. Just very good!
The cookies were delicious as well! I will definitely be visiting Mama Cocoa’s in the future!

If High Standards is going to eat candy, it has to be worth the calories. Mama C’s hand makes every candy in the shop right in front of you, in small batches, with meticulous attention to detail. What’s not to like?
Mama C gave me a free sample: a caramel chew that was delicious. The coconut curry bon-​bons are interesting, the dark chocolate is not at all sweet, which is a good thing, and the caramel corn is addictive.
This place is in the back of the middle of nowhere, but worth the pilgrimage. Across the street from the tiny post office is a yellow antique shop. Park in the back and go through the back door, or walk into the antique shop in the front and follow the signs through the maze-​like shop.

My wife and I love all her creations. The truffles, cheese cake, and carrot cake all are great. What a treat!!!

Stopped in today to talk to the owner about a wedding cake. She is so nice and the candies were delish. The almond brittle and the caramels were awesome. Can’t wait for the cake tasting. I think it will be wonderful. :)
