It’s been two years since I last stopped here for the night in my truck. The remodel looks great and I’m sure once the Dunkin Donuts opens, it will bring in the crowds. But how about springing for better quality & larger towels for those who use the showers!?!

(2) ~ meh… with ALL the highway advertising I was expecting a Bigger & better selection of beverages. My suggestion would be to sell more locally made food & beverage items to stand out among the chains they’re competing against…

It’s five stars for a truck stop, okay? It’s not fine dining(I don’t think there’s even dining). But it was clean, plenty of gas, people there were very nice. There’s a chapel of sorts, yup, a chapel. So 5 stars. Deal with it.

I guess it serves it’s purpose. The only reason to stop is to use the restroom and to get gas. Maybe a cup of coffee but that’s it. For the size they really could do more with the space.

Super clean restrooms. Smelled a little like cigarettes.

Ah… the Simmons Travel Center. Alas, over shadowed by your counterparts at other exits. I’m sure you’re a favorite with the locals and the odd desperate traveler. The Hunt Brothers pizza(fresh heated from the freezer) was OK. I liked that I could get toppings added to my personal pizza and the sauce was decent. But the convenience store portion of the travel center is pretty small and selection is fairly limited. I pulled off here out of idle curiosity having seen the highway signs on my various trips back and forth to NC, but there are more options and better options at exit 12 so I doubt I’d pull in again unless the car’s on fumes.
