Clancy’s

Very smokey inside and outside, it was like a fog everywhere! Outside was too smokey so we went inside and ordered, but we were soon choking from all the smoke, so we moved over to a side table away from the chain smokers. Very, very slow service… it took about 45 minutes for us to get our food after ordering. We got the Reuben sandwich. It was average. After we finished, very slow service to get our check and pay. Our server was just having too much fun walking around the area socializing with her coworkers to check on us! It took us an hour and a half from entering until we left. I attribute this to a lot of indifference by the staff and a lot of socializing by the staff. They didn’t seem to pay much attention to the customers at all. We eventually had to interrupt our server from her yucking it up with other staff to get her to get our check to us so we could leave! This was our first visit here so we were open minded. We wanted to return for St. Patrick’s Day, but we decided we won’t. It wasn’t even busy, and we had terrible service. I can imagine how bad it would be if they were busy. Sorry, but I can’t recommend this place unless you like cigarette smoke and slow, slow service. We were really hoping for more from this place. We won’t be back, it’s just not worth it.

Been to this bar alot in the past 7 years and only once was it fun, poor food, average beer nothing special but what really drags the score down is the scenery, its smokey, smelly, dirty and ugly, the second reason is if your under the age of 50 and not shady or rustic then you will stick out like a sore thumb, seen so many fights and angry drunks in this place, also seen some sketchy deals dealing with my bar tabs (same beer diffrent prices during my visit) i try to avoid that place

so I’m biased since I play music here occasionally. BUT, no matter… here you go: the pizza. that’s it, my review is over! Ha ha. seriously, the PIZZA is amazing, best around and I’ve tried a lot of them. Bartenders are awesome, I usually order from Sara at the outside tiki bar, which they call the FRIKI’ TIKI’. live music inside on weekends, every single day you’ll hear some live music in the Friki Tiki. if it’s your 1^st time, make sure to take a pic with your face through the funny wall and sit in the big wooden beach chair!

Good food for the prices. Fresh roasted turkey and hams. Sweet potato fries are yummy. Tiki bar and inside can get smokey… so go outside or in dining area and enjoy some delish food. The servers hussle to get to everyone and it can get busy. They do a great job. And no there’s no worries about your tab not be accurate, so the misleading comment of such, is just not true. Perhaps the patron lost count. The employees have been here for many years and service is always with smiles!

My mom was once again happy with the mozzarella sticks as was I.

We had the blackened chicken quesadilla and it was fantastic .No idea what the sauce was on it but it was very sweet and fruity, the chicken was very juicy and flavorful. Definitely recommend it! Also got the sunrise chiller and it was very good as well. Couldn’t taste any alcohol in it. The margaritas were very strong. Tasted like straight alcohol :/​we will definitely be back! Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful! They were very busy but the wait for food and drinks was very short!

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU’RE NOT A SMOKER. Hazardous environment to the health of your lungs. Otherwise, pretty standard bar food and drinks.

One of my favorite places. Great place to watch ANY game. Be sure to get there early for NFL football, Inside or outside. This is a smoking establishment. I don’t smoke and I don’t care if you do! Great staff, always fun and they do serve some great food. This is one of the few places left to get Bass Ale on tap. A REAL Black & Tan anyone? Live music? Always! Best bang for the buck? Yep, and you might take her home too! Clancy’s can be rude, crude and sometimes obnoxious but you can’t wait to go back there again, and again.

Most of the waitress’s are nice but we experienced two very rude and verbally abusive female bartenders on several occasions. After the very rude behavior we experienced from the inside female bartender last night, (she claimed to be the manager — did not get her name), we will no longer give Clancy’s our business. We spent over $ 60 in food/​drink and around $ 200 in the machines… at the very least, we should expect to receive kindness and not rude/​abrasive behavior from the bartender. This is not the first time this same bartender has been rude to my husband and I, but it will be the last. What a shame since the food is ok and we sometimes brought visiting friends for food and drinks in the past. Also, the women’s bathroom is in dire need of updating and is seldom clean; chairs are ripped and torn; place smells horrible and food service is usually very slow. If you are in the bar past 9:30 pm. watch out as the crowd sometimes gets violent and the music is cranked up to ear drum breaking levels.

We always enjoy sitting out in the tiki bar and hearing live music, which they have nightly. The service is spotty at times and the food is nothing special, we orders nachos once and they were microwaved and warm… but if you want a cold beer and a cool place to chill stop on in.

Good if you are a smoker. There is an outdoor section set up like a tiki bar. There is a section of computer gambling games. bud light bottles are $ 3 — did not have any food. wide screen tv are good to watch games.

Friendly environment decided to sit outside in tiki bar area due ro the smokey inside bar. I wished there was a non smoking section inside becuse this is fl but I did not let thid keep me from coming…
Was greeted by the pretty bartender she has a smile on her face which makes it even more welcoming. She was very prompt with her service. I am a camel when it comes to drinks she noticed that and 5 min later wad brought a pitcher of coke. Good call saved her time. Drinks are my biggest pet peeve.
I ordered the Clancey Roll which is corned beef and cabbage fried very good just keep some napkins handy they are very greasy I squeeze them out. It comes with I think a thousand island dressing.
Then I ordered boneless wings with a pineapple rum sauce. Wow totally different and good flavor.
The music at lunch is low so its not overpowering just a great overall atmosphere. I will be coming back. Im sure you can bring kids but I probably would not. this would be a good place to have food to go.

This place is «OK» at best. .. That is. .. If you are a smoker ! If not this place is gross. I went there on a Sat night to check it out. I walked thru the outdoor seating area to head inside at first. As soon as I walked in I was surrounded by a cloud of cigarette smoke and the live band who was playing was poor. I walked out and sat at the outside bar. It took a while to get a drink but when the bartender got back he was polite and friendly. Nearly everyone at the outdoor bar was smoking also. I finished my beer quickly and left. Unlikely I will be going back.
BUT if your a smoker. .. I guess it could be decent.

Fun atmosphere. Outdoor seating and bar as, well as indoor. Friendly staff and patrons. Had yeungling on draft. Saltwater tank inside. Large outdoor bar area.

I didn’t have many expectations coming here based on some of the reviews and tips.
I would not recommend this establishment.
The food is not of the best quality and it was difficult to breathe inside and/​or outside due to the smell of cigarettes.

Pretty awesome when the bartender remembers your name even after a year– still the best wings in town!

I visit Clancy’s every time I am in Bradenton which is several times a year. Great neighborhood place… mostly locals (my preference) but a great variety of people. Reasonable drink prices… great entertainment… and their food is always fresh, reasonably priced, and delicious. Their servers are top notch and get to know you like a friend. Clancy’s may not be for everyone but it is my kind of place. They do allow smoking, which would normally be a negative for me, but at the outside Tiki bar, it has never bothered me.

Clancy’s is a fun place. They always have something going on. They have an inside part and an outdoor tiki bar. The drinks are good and the food is great. All reasonably priced. The staff and patrons are all very friendly. It’s a nice casual relaxing place to go.

Every meal I have had at this place has been excellent. this week My brother and I decided to try the all meat Stromboli and WOW! it is BIG it’s enough for at least 6 people and it was fantastic, a must try.

Visiting my grandpa in Florida with my brtother– come 9pm (grandpas bedtime!) we were wide awake with nothing to do but go to Walnart… or find a bar. We chose bar.
Seeing a bunch of cars and hearing music, we decided «why not!?” — we scored the last parking space. Upon entering and odering two cocktails the bartender says «5.50 $ total»…wait, total? I’m from la… if a drink iis 5.50 $ on it’s own, let alone for two, it’s assumed it’s happy hour! 2.75 $ for a drink… perhaps I’m just conditioned by paying too much in la, but this was fabulous.
The bartenders were courteous no matter how busy things got.
It was so much fun we returned the second night (3−13−10) of our trip– to find an actually amazing live band. I’m a musician, and therefore a snob, and even with my high standards, these guys were great and super friendly.
The crowd is very mixed– anywhere from 20 – 60 (mostly a 35 – 45 crowd).
Clancys is a real good time– nothing fancy, no frills– just a party. Highly reccommend!
