Daysi’s Tacos

Along old 301 (15^th St E) in bradenton, south of Oneco is a collection on interesting shops, car repair places, connivance stores. And of course taco wagons. There are usually two or three along this stretch of the road. I had noticed the one near manatee lumber was there fairly regularly and decided to give it a try.
I’m not sure who Daysi is but the nice grandmotherly woman who was there when I went put up with my bad high school spanish and happily took my order. I got a couple pastor tacos and a carnitas one. All were made up on fresh tacos and I got to watch her chop the onions and cilatro to put on each one. All good signs. The carnitas wasn’t really what I think of as carnitas but it was good. tasty pork bits but just not as intense or as carmalized on the grill as I like. But the Pastor tacos were very very good. You really could taste the fruit juices that went into the marinade. Often times around this part of florida, the pastor is either very spicy or just bland. But these were very flavorful and just the right amount of heat.
Another decent taco wagon near by and worth checking out. They were a little more expensive than other taco wagons, but still competitive in their price. $ 6.00 for three tacos.
