Cute and clean little shop that my husband and I happened upon on our way to the beach. Stopped in and I decided on the Peanut butter and chocolate cupcake. As hubby checked in on Unilocal he noticed a free cupcake offer and mentioned it to the owner, who claimed not to know anything about the offer, even when he showed it to her on his phone. «I didn’t know Unilocal was giving away my cupcakes!» We decided not to try to press the issue by asking her to honor her offer and she didn’t offer to honor it. That bit of shady business would probably keep us from returning but other than that, I enjoyed my cupcake.

AMAZING cupcakes! We love this place! We had driven by it about a million times on manatee Ave. My sister was the one who stopped in to order cupcakes for my baby shower! They were custom fondant elephants in an assortment of flavors. The stuffed raspberry was my personal favorite – but they were all delicious and a big hit! My mom thought they were so great she even stuffed one in her carry on to share with my sister in law in Colorado! The cake part was so moist and the frosting is not too overpowering. Needless to say when my husband’s birthday came around later in the month – he requested Frosted Over cupcakes. This time we tried the peanut butter cupcake and the yellow cake with chocolate frosting – we gobbled them all up in a matter of days. The cupcakes were ready for me to pick up on time and as promised – and of course delicious. We are so happy to have a reliable go-to cupcake place in town. You can really tell the owner really takes pride in her work and the flavor combinations are creative and delicious.

Stumbled on this very cute little shop while searching for liquid refreshment on a jaunt into town in June. Of course I HAD to sample their wares. The shop is small, but very nicely decorated. They are a small local business, and the cupcakes are kept in two small glass cases. They were gorgeous and looked delicious. These ladies do not use cupcake papers, they use folded parchment, which is a lovely departure from the usual. I selected a lemon filled cupcake and a berry filled cupcake for sampling later. The lemon had a delicate lemon flavor with a small amount of curd in the center. The frosting had a mild lemon flavor, but was not very intense at all. The cake was a bit on the dry side and somewhat crumbly. It was good, but not great. The berry filled cake was a disappointment. When I bit into it, I got a mouthful of what tasted like pure, raw alcohol. I can only guess that the blackberry in the center of the cupcake was soaked in vodka, and a rough one at that. It was harsh to the tongue and killed the flavor of the vanilla cake. The cake itself was dry and crumbly. The frosting was unremarkable and did not have a significant flavor of its own. I may consider trying this shop again to see if other cakes are more appealing. The regulars that surrounded me in the shop were clearly very enthusiastic about the cakes and the owners.

Absolutely the cutest cupcake shop that I’ve ever been! The cupcake details create a at home feel. I ordered the strawberry, butterscotch, oreo, chocolate mocha and chocolate raspberry cupcakes. My favorite cupcake was the chocolate mocha. It had a creamy filling topped with a buttercream frosting. I liked the actual rasberries that were filled in the chocolate raspberry but I didnt like the frosting. From all the cupcakes I ordered the only once that had a buttercream frosting was the chocolate mocha, the rest are whipped cream cheese frosting. I have a big sweet tooth and enjoy frostings that are very sweet and in enhance the flavor of the cupcake. The whipped cream cheese taste light and fluffy. The oreo had real oreo crumbs in the cake and the frosting but it had the whipped cream frosting. The butterscotch was a bit dry for me. I liked the butterscotch syrup on top of the frosting and the butterscotch chips. The strawberry was moist but it had the whipped cream cheese frosting. If youre like me about the frosting then ask which cupcakes have the buttercream frosting before ordering.

So far, this is the only cupcake place that I have found in Bradenton. I think that this town is a little behind the curve when it comes to having places that are popular in the rest of the world. We just starting getting froyo shops this year and still only have two to choose from. The shop is cute and the décor is the ever-so-popular black and white pomegranate flower(wallpaper) print with accents in pink. This also carries over to the marketing and packaging as well. The cake itself is moist and delish, with almond being my favorite. However, the main drawback is that the icing is gritty like the powdered sugar was not sifted before mixing. With that being said, some cupcakeries have actually been adding in coarse sugar lately to add texture. But, in this case, it did not appear to be the motive. Overall great flavor, though.

I was expecting great cupcakes from a cupcake bakery. I was not impressed. The icing tasted like straight crisco on the vanilla w/vanilla icing, it tasted like they forget the vanilla in the icing. We also tried the red velvet and the cake was dry. The shoppe was very cute, the way that they decorate the cupcakes is really cute, but the flavor is not there. I’m not sure if they are going to be around. It’s ashame, they could have something great here!

Stopped in for some cupcakes today. At $ 2.75 per cupcake, I expected THEBEST. Sadly, I make better cupcakes at home. Maybe it was just the kind we got or the time of day, but we were seriously underwhelmed. The cake tasted like box cake mix and the icing was just okay. I spent more than $ 11 for 4 cupcakes. The cupcakes were very small. The lady working in the store was VERY nice… just wish the product would have been better. For an excellent cupcake, we’ll stick with Slice of Heaven in Sarasota.

This is a cute little cupcakery — coming from NYC I have very high expectations on cupcakes and this place does not disappoint. The carrot cake is amazingly moist and the pumpkin cupcake is perfect. They need to work on the red velvet — the icing is really good but the cake was really dry. Looking forward to trying some of their holiday creations — the owner mentioned gingerbread and peppermint mocha are among the flavors for Dec… yummy!
