JUSTGOTHERE!!! First of all, the food is amazing. The volcano roll in particular is the best I’ve EVER had. Thanks Josea! The staff is amazing. Attentive and friendly. I found myself in special circumstances where I was back and forth between this restaurant and one next door(I was hiding out at Hana’s because I was a special guest for a surprise party.) The bartender Rob was especially helpful while I used his bar as my hiding spot, in costume. After the surprise party I returned to Hana’s for some chit chat, some food and the cool décor. Performing a singing telegram can really work up your appetite! I want to thank the entire staff for all their help while I was wearing that crazy costume and appreciate their sincerity and kindness. I’ll be back with my boyfriend next time…

This place always has great food. Try their Origami roll — it’s my absolute favorite and I get it every time I go. Atmosphere is always great as well, very hip :). The staff are excellent — they always are prompt and are very knowledgable on the menu.

I’d love to write a review of their food but unfortunately arriving early in a party of three is not on their menu. I was turned away with my party at 4.54 pm. Incredible. I start work six minutes early often earlier but not these guys. I hope their work ethic does not affect their food.

Two friends and I visited lakewood ranch from Boston to see my girlfriend. We wandered over to Hana from my girlfriends apt with no expectations… I have never been so impressed. Boston is a city of very pretensions bartenders who have«signature drinks». I casually ordered a Mia Tia wo any expectations, as most would, i immediately knew something different was happening here. The bar tender Taylor made us 3 different drinks in total and all were worth a trip back. I have never written a Unilocal review before now, the place was that good, food included!

Kaleigh is our Server. She is a pleasure. Ordered The Volcano with REAL Crab piled on top. It’s worth every penny. Then, the«Krab». Always ask, if it’s imitation. And, a Chicken Tempura Roll, a Shrimp Roll. They all disappeared quickly. Delicious and we complemented the Sushi Chef. He was excellent. Kaleigh, is very good with people skills, friendly. I’d like to return in the evening. They have a very nice Bar area. The Dinner Menu. Has good prices. And, seems to have an appealing seating area. With lounge tables and round low comfortable leather like chairs. A more personal touch. Their food has always been served promptly. At the proper temperature. As long as they stay consistent. So will I as a returning customer. Enjoy:-))

I don’t normally take my hat off to many places, especially when it comes to sushi. I was impressed. This is a definite must put on the list. I highly recommend that you come by for sushi. I’m going to try desert just because which is something I don’t normally do either. I have to say fabulous. This place is my new favorite after many years at Saga’s in south Sarasota. I’ll be back for sure…

Surprisingly delicious! Stumbled upon this place while traveling. The chicken fried rice was authentic sticky rice. We tried Godzilla roll, three amigos, and soul good. Our favorite was the Godzilla! Server was attentive and helpful. Worth a stop when looking for good sushi.

By far the best sushi I’ve ever had, and we’ve had sushi all over the country. The volcano roll is delicious, the aloha roll was fabulous. The food is excellent!

This restaurant offers a broad selection of sushi rolls but a relatively narrow selection of fish. What fish it DOES offer is quite fresh and tasty. In particular I found their scallops to really shine. If you are in the area this place is a good neighborhood restaurant. The waiter also indicated that the chefs are willing to special order favorites. But if you are in Sarasota there are other alternatives downtown that are also quite good. One issue, and it’s not unique to Hana: they keep the inside way too cold. This is problematic because one can get bitten up outside.

Simply outstanding experience. We went in to have lunch and were gladly surprised. The place is nice and was very clean. The waitress helped us with the menu items and took our orders in a breeze. We ordered Bento Boxes with the Hana Meat. One salad and one soup. Food was really good. I wasn’t sure about going to eat Sushi because I mainly feel I like it more for dinner but was really happy after I tried my food. As a plus, owner was there and she is really friendly, nice and corteous. Overall as I said, outstanding experience. Will become regulars. Keep it up!

Love Hana! The sushi is fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. Our cocktails were perfectly made. And to top it off our waiter, Garrett, was very friendly and accommodating. Will be back soon.

Décor: 4⁄5 –Roughly 6 seating at the sushi bar –Roughly 5 – 6 seating at the drinking bar Service: 5⁄5 –Amazing service, food kept coming Food: 5⁄5 –Hana Lobster roll is loaded with protein and wrapped in avocado. All my favorite ingredients. –Mackerel and Unagi were the tastiest sashimi. The sweet ebi was a bit lackluster.

After seeing all the reviews and walking past it several times, a friend and I decided to try it. The décor is wonderful and welcoming both inside and out and it is a quaint lounge. Unfortunately, the rest was not as good as I had hoped. Once seated, we noticed we were placed next to the humidifier that was being used in place of an a/c unit. As a through and through Floridian, I was comfortable, but I can imagine many others were uncomfortable with the heat inside. Also, there was hardly any air moving through the restaurant except for when the door opened to let in a breeze from outside. Our waitress took a while with our drinks and even longer to take our order. Although it was a simple drink order(two sodas), she walked past us several times without either drink. When it came to food, My friend’s sushi and chicken came out first. It didn’t look bad, but I didn’t have my food. The waitress tried to give me the wrong thing first before realizing it was wrong. Several minutes later, she came back to check what I had originally ordered as it seemed my order had gotten lost. When ordering, I had specified that I could not have anything hot or spicy. I have a food allergy and I can’t have them at all. Unfortunately for me, she hadn’t paid as much attention or something and one of my nigiri orders(white tuna) came out with a heaping dallop of spicy red chili paste. I was unable to eat it but thankfully, I could try the rest. My sushi was midgrade quality and I’ve had better from Public. My salmon wasn’t terrible, but the scallops were unappetizing and tiny. The best part was the crunchy rice balls I had ordered, which were fried rice and cream cheese. My friend had the volcano chicken and it was clearly soaked in the red chili paste, the fried chicken sticking to each other and quite soggy just to look at. The spicy tuna roll she said wasn’t bad, but she’s again had better. The fried wonton the chicken came in was perfectly fried and crispy, making the rest such a disappointment. For the money we paid, I feel it was not high enough quality. While it was affordable, it felt like it was cheap quality sushi and not worth the $ 15 we both spent. The décor was truly the best thing about the place and I won’t be returning.

Great lunch spot, with a great lunch menu. Glad to see a much better sushi restaurant replace Jpan. Consistently good and I’m picky!

Pretty décor. Earnest, if not excellent service. The sushi was pretty good. The soup with udon noodles was OK. Looks like the bar would be a nice place to hang out.

I am rating this place based on the cocktails, not the sushi. Had great«hana martini» which had cucumber and basil in it. It was very flavorful and artistic appearing but I felt there was almost too much cucumber taste to it. My husband had a warm tea with bourbon and time which was also unique and a mixture of different flavors. He finished the night off with a pumpkin pie martini which was dessert in a martini glass. What made it different was the touch of fireball added. Overall, I think the bartender is very creative and passionate about what he does, the drinks could have been a little more balanced. The place was very quiet for a Saturday night and they close at 10, hence only 3 stars instead of 4.

I’d give the bar four stars and the restaurant three stars. The bar is super cool and bartender is on top of things. The restaurant is beautiful and serves decent food. Outdoor dining in Lakewood Ranch is always a nice experience. I’ve been coming to this restaurant since it was Saijo, Jpan, and now Hana. The aesthetics and ambience have improved greatly to make it more appealing, but I miss the old rolls I used to get. I’ve found the rolls since Saijo are really heavy on the rice. Sushi is fresh, but I’d like to taste more fish than rice. We have found it best to get the sashimi to supplement the rolls. The yellowtail tuna with jalapeño, awesome! The non-sushi menu items are okay and include noodle bowls, tempura dishes, meats prepared Asian style. We haven’t found anything that wows us, but definitely no complaints. The bento box kids meal is adorable and includes a perfectly portioned plate of rice, tempura, potstickers, and orange. Service depends greatly on who you get and whether you’re outside or not. Sushi can be slow. Everyone is hustling and tries hard though. A for effort. Enjoy the bar for a cool vibe. Enjoy the patio for outdoor dining. Order sashimi over sushi. My two cents.

Decent but not incredible. Management probably thinks most patrons don’t know good sushi from mediocre, and he may be right, but that is still no reason to serve mediocre food. This place could do a lot better for its customers. I will go back, but only because there is nothing better for sushi in Lakewood Ranch. The sushi is often kind of tired looking and size and preparation varies wildly. Service is also erratic. Like so many restaurants in Lakewood Ranch, they do a good business from having a captive audience. Some day this area will have a top notch sushi place. .maybe when the new mall opens. Till then I will continue to go here with just modest expectations.

Had a family reunion here on the fourth of July and was treated fairly well. The Lakewood Ranch area is always friendly and down-to-earth. I’ve never really had a problem with the people or their positive energy. The wait wasn’t bad at all and my party received window seatings. Since Hana is a sushi restaurant, I was interested in how their sushi was. Overall performance 4⁄5. Sushi freshness 4⁄5: We ordered salmon, shrimp, crab, eel, and tuna rolls. Most of the fish were fresh except for the tuna. Some of the tuna rolls were slightly on the brown side. Appearance 5⁄5: When the sushi was brought to the table, it was beautiful and well planned out.(*See my foodie pictures!) Wait for food 5⁄5: We ordered half of the appetizers, for a party of eight, on the menu so the wait was decent. Hostess was sweet and knowledgeable, always a smile on her face. Our female server, I forgot her name, she was really good to us though! Super accommodating and attentive to details as a server should be. She remembered our order to the tee and refilled our drinks without having us ask her to do so. During our evening, there was one thing that stuck to me and it was the owner came out to ask how my party and I were doing. Only then did it come to my attention that Hana was the first sushi restaurant that the owner actually cared to come over and talk to her customers. Very wowed by the notion. Regardless of the business drama I heard other customers gossip about, my party was well taken care of, the appetizers and sushi were fantastic and we were lucky to have had the chance to chat with the owner. The experience was excellent, thanks Hana! :)
