Fun atmosphere for the kids. Service holds this place back… still after all these years. Decent portions, fun stuff to occupy children and all around reasonable prices. Apps were good. Bar seems too quiet. Maybe too far from the main streets for the crowds although I was not in there it was empty.

From the moment we stepped in the door, things went bad. The hostess had a mouth full of food while she was telling us the wait would be about 5 minutes. The place was empty and servers were standing around chatting in the same area the hostess was eating and no one was dealing with customers. After she finished eating we were told it would be another 5 minutes. Did I mention the place was empty and the staff were busy chatting? When she did seat us it was at an unset table and we had to ask for silverware after the food was on the table. The food was well prepared but that was the only good thing about the experience. After the downright rude reception and complete lack of attention to detail, I will not be returning

How is this place still open?! Seriously. I went a few times as a kid, dont really remember it being great or awful but do remember it being pretty crowded. Went again a coupld times after turning 21, food wasn’t the best, the bar area is small, barely anyone was there; its nothing special simply put. They did have that ridiculous moose head that would talk and wow did that suck. Went there again not long ago(couple months ago) and noticed the moose was gone(long overdue, thanks). The menu hasn’t changed, the food is still nothing great, still not crowded at all, and the interior is still the same(small bar area). I would love to buy this place and give it a nice big makeover — keep the same outdoors style décor but re do the interior, the menu, the bar, etc. PLEASEIFYOUAREREADINGTHISANDWORKFORBUGABOO, PLEASEUPDATETHEPLACEANDTHEMENU!

This time was a disappointment… The first time I came here a while a go things were great. The food and the service was awesome but this time around, things were very different. We ordered and 20 minutes later, they come to tell us that they didn’t have the cut of meat we ordered. We were okay with a substitute so that’s what we got. When the food came, one my friends order was wrong, but she didn’t want to feel like a jerk and ask to get a different one. She ended up not touching that portion of the meal. Our steak was medium rare but it was very dry; nothing like the steak we got before. It was absolutely disgusting. Overall, our waiter got our order wrong, the service was poor, and the timing of food was inadequate. If you’re planning on coming here, I would advise you to think it over.

Every time my sisters and I come here it usually around lunch time or early dinner but the dinning rooms are always empty!!! I always wanted to know what the heck happened my family and I enjoy it but I can remember like 12 – 15 years ago when there were lines out the door… Anyways the food is great and the bread is perfect and the service is always efficient and joyful.

This used to be so good. Went there on a Saturday afternoon and the place was empty-no servers, no greeter, no bartender and only 4 customers seated. Went next door to the Château instead which was very busy and very good. Won’t be long for this bugaboo location-it’ll die like the others. It died on December 24th. RIP

Why not a 0 star? We use to take my son to Bugaboo for his birthday since he was a baby. It came a tradition with our family but now the restaurant is a hollow shell of what it was.

Took 3 of our Grandkids to Bugaboo creek on Sunday night called ahead and told no wait, when we arrived told 15 minutes, however half of the restaurant was empty, after 25 minutes no one checked in with us and I believe we were the only ones waiting, we stood for 5 minutes looking on Unilocal for another restaurant to go to and finally left and walked next door to The Château and were seated immediately and we are enjoying a delicious meal!

We’ve missed bugaboo since they closed most of their locations but saw this one is still open and stopped in. Service was slow and inattentive and the food wasn’t anywhere near as good as we remember.

We ordered take out from there the other night. I got the $ 20 rib eye. I paid $ 20 for a «steak» that was ¾ fat and gristle. «Well marbled» is one thing. Having more huge sections of inedible fat and gristle is completely another. If we had eaten in house I would have sent it back. I had to be like a surgeon with a scalpel to dissect the small portion that was edible. Luckily, I have a small appetite. I was hoping to have left overs and have them for lunch the next day, which is why I ordered a large steak when I don’t eat a great deal in 1 sitting. However, if anyone expected to get 1 full meal out of this steak they would be sorely disappointed. If my husband(or most men) had ordered this item, they would have still been hungry after working way too hard to get a tiny bit of meat. Bugaboo should be ashamed of themselves for serving a cut of meat that was mostly garbage for $ 20.

I visited this Bugaboo Creek after not eating there for years. I expected the same great food and service but ended up disappointed. I was there on Valentine’s Day 2015. It was not busy due to a storm. Yet, the rack of ribs was burnt and tasted old. The smashed potatoes were hard and cold. The portions were smaller than they used to be. I was there with two friends who ordered steaks. All the meat tasted old, and was not seasoned. We used to visit this restaurant regularly, and it’s sad to see the decline. The atmosphere wasn’t as fun either. The talking animals were apparently not working at all. I’m surprised it still gets business, and definitely not the way it used to be.

Not sure what is going on at Bugaboo Creek. The place has really gone down hill. I come here every couple of months with the kids and they love it. This last time we were here it looked like they had sold off some of the décor and taxidermy but not because they were redecorating. The spots where the items used to be remained vacant. You could see the outline of where the frames had previously been. The food was nothing to brag or complain about, but it never is. We always came here for the kids, because it is a family place and they love the talking buffalo. This last time it just seemed off, not unfinished but more vacant like when you go into a store just before they go out of business and are selling off the fixtures. I think that trip was my last and an end of an era.

Coldest beers in braintree. Great steaks. Service isn’t the best which is strange because there is really never anyone there.

I used to love Bugaboo when I was little, and when the one in Watertown closed I was pretty disappointed, so imagine my happiness when I found out there’s one still open in Braintree. Unfortunately… it’s pretty awful. The bread they serve is okay, but it’s clearly trying to be Outback bread, which is infamously good, and theirs is just a cheap imitation. Side note: boyfriend is in love with Outback bread, so a few months ago I tried to make it for him. This was the first time in probably ten years I made bread from scratch and while it wasn’t as good as the real thing, it was waaaaayyyyy better than Bugaboo bread. I got the Black Magic steak with asparagus. The asparagus was almost raw, had an unpleasant taste, and I got the distinct impression that it had been microwaved. Bleh. Now on to the steak. This steak was terrible. The waitress hovered waiting for me to cut it to ensure it was cooked properly, which is fine I guess but really awkward. It was cooked fine, but OH my glob did it taste bad. The seasoning was just confusing and gross, aside from a lot of salt I couldn’t identify a single flavor. I absolutely hate sending food back, but I had to. I didn’t want to say, ‘this tastes like it fell on the floor’ so I just said it was too salty, and the waitress seemed really confused??? She told me it was seasoned, and then came back to say it was Cajun seasoning. I don’t think anyone working there has even been in the same room as Cajun food. The manager came over and while he wasn’t exactly rude, he seemed almost offended, and again mentioned that it was seasoned(yes, I know, I read the menu description, thanks). He just kept harping on the fact that it was seasoned as if I couldn’t understand it. Like Bugaboo is serving up such exotic food that my peasant palate just couldn’t handle it. Whatever. I got their chicken sandwich as a replacement, it was pretty average. Not bad, not great, just a thing. Boyfriend got a burger, said it was just okay. The manager kept coming over to ask how it was going, and talking to the waitress. I’m not sure, but I got the impression that he was mad at her, as if their crappy food is her fault. Overall, huge disappointment. The service was fine, the manager was annoying, the food was terrible.

Worst food EVER! Two of us went there because every other restaurant was overcrowded with long waiting time so we thought we’d give Bugaboo Creek a try. We had heard unfavorable things about it, but we figured how bad can a burger be. We should have known when we entered and there was no wait(on a Saturday night, and it was Valentines Day!). Ordered one burger with fries and one order of BBQ Spareribs. Burger was awful, could only eat 2 – 3 bites; spareribs were overcooked, dry and no flavor. Baked beans came with it, worse than if they were canned. Would NEVER, recommend this place. They should close their doors.

Came here for my brothers birthday and it was a disappointment! There place was empty at 2pm on a Sunday. The waitress seemed rushed the entire time. When we told her that 1 steak was massively under cooked she began too argue with the table… the manager I think Steve came over to apologize about the steak. The waitress never apologized. Never again will we return

This place is awful. Normally I am very understanding and to write a bad review for a company is more work than I’d ever want to do. However this experience with Bugaboos was bad enough for me to write this. Upon arriving at Bugaboos, we patiently waited to be seated as like any other normal restaurant. Not at Bugaboos though. 10 minutes later our patience was running low and still not a hostess in sight. The bartender saw us stand there waiting, but had no intention of calling a hostess nor showed any sort of customer service. We finally saw a waitress passing by and asked if she could seat us. She tells us to wait for the hostess. I responded«We’ve been waiting 10 minutes to be seated.» The waitress rolled her eyes and says«Well the bartender could seat you.» What kind of attitude does this show? No respect for the customer at all. We immediately turned around and left and will not be coming back.

This is the fourth time I’ve been freezing cold while eating at this bugaboo. I didn’t have a warm coat with me so I had to wear an insulated coverall suit to eat my dinner. While I was outside getting dressed(into the coverall) I grabbed my infrared thermometer from the glove box. I checked the temperature at our booth right beside the kitchen door. It was 63* at 4′ above floor height and 61* on the floor. Before I went outside to get my coveralls on I told the waiter I was cold and had been cold when I ate here in the past. I said look around at all of the people eating with their winter coats and hats on. There were several I’d say half or the patrons with winter coats or winter hats on. I asked him to turn up the heat he said no problem. After we ate and paid our bill(we left our waiter over 20% tip by the way) I saw the manager talking with two women at their booth. They were all bundled up like they were up skiing. I went over and asked the manager what he thought an appropriate temperature a restaurant should be kept at? He said 70*. I pointed the infrared thermometer a couple of feet to the right of one of the woman’s heads so the manager could easily see it. It read 63*. I said 63 degrees! It’s 63* in here! I said people spend a lot of money to have dinner here. I said I just had dinner on Saturday night with my girlfriend wearing a coverall suit I wear all week at work. I concluded by telling him he should sell half the shit on the walls and pay the heat bill! I feel a little bad for the manager because I know he is being instructed by his bosses to cut costs. To the corporate genius of bugaboo creek who can’t figure out how to draw patrons to their restaurants. DONTFREEZEOUTTHEFEWCOSTUMERSYOUHAVELEFT!

This restaurant used to be awesome, it’s the opposite of that now. Portions– Smaller, way smaller than before. Me and my girlfriend both had extremely small portions and we left feeling still hungry. $ 14.99 for the Snowbird Chicken Platter with 5 relatively small pieces of chicken isn’t worth it. Service– Loss of family friendliness. Not judging off one staff member, but waitress was very short with us and quick and barely had attended to us when drinks were empty or any other request. She didn’t ask if we needed anything and did not seem to care to inform us on why our meal took nearly an hour to receive even though we were 2 of only 10 customers seated around the place. Overall– Last time returning here and it’s unfortunate because this used to be a really great restaurant with generous portions and friendly service. It’s lost it’s touch in both aspects.
