When I first went here, the food was pretty good. especially the meats. But they failed to tell me that there were no free refill on soft drinks! Then they don’t really have a wide variety of food on the salad bar. They are trying I guess. Actually, just found out they closed down. Sad. It was a nice cozy place to dine.

Ok, one thing is that you have better experiences than other people, but it seems odd that there are so many negative reviews. I’ve had my birthday dinner at this place twice and I as satisfied both times, and all the rest of the times I’ve gone. There’s a whole salad/soup/app bar. You have this little wooden contraption that you flip over depending on your eating pace. People come out with all different types of meat on sticks, from bacon wrapped turkey, to chicken hearts(my favorite), to their killer baked pineapple. My only complaint is that it’s kinda– overpriced. But, yu can stay for a long buffet experience! But then again, like i said it’s overpriced. You get way to full way too fast for the price. If you bring kids, your gonna have to get away with them being under like ten to save a bunch of money. All in all I wish I could rate them like 3 ¾ stars for being overpriced, but they’re really good! I’d say it’s pretty worth it.

Having had Churrascaria /Rodizio in Sao Paulo, Rio, Valadares, Bahia amd of course several places in the USA. This restaurant caters only for the American palate. A bit slow on the meats service to start but after being addressed thag changed. The taste was good but the selection of meats were limited. Good atmosphere, clean and well stocked salad bar.

Loved it! Nope, it’s not inexpensive, but the salad bar has a wonderful, eclectic, and delicious variety to choose from. The meats are flavorful, moist and so scrumptious! I don’t how anyone can complain about a lack of flavor or variety. We’ll be back! It’s obvious to me that people who think this food is bland probably work at a neighboring establishment.

My one star is based on service. We walked out before having a chance to eat. My family of four went to South Shore tonight for the first time. We were looking for a special dining spot to celebrate my daughters birthday so I was ready and willing to drop some money. This place is not my first choice, but since California pizza kitchen, Cheesecake Factory, and American joe all have one hour wait, we thought Saturday night 7:00pm with half of the seating empty this can be a quick hit… WRONG! We entered and the host asked if we have reservation, since we didn’t he went and had out table set up. Remember I said the place is half empty? So there goes 10min in an empty lobby… looking at 3 hosting staff and 3 bartenders doing not much. This downtime allowed my wife to check Unilocal…2.5 stars? I decided we forge forward since kids are getting antsy. Finally we were seated. 4 hungry people with 2 menu… I am all about sharing, but this buffets rules of engagement is complex… you pay $ 20 for all you can eat, but that doesn’t include meat(wtf?)…more money for meat… but then it seems to read you get some free appetizer… what about dessert? Damn why can’t they just charge one fee and call it a day? Reading the rule about those green/red block is also a joke. 10min into waiting and see meats being served to all tables I was getting antsy. Not even a greeting from any staff. Am I suppose to just go up to buffet bar and start eating? No one taking my water drink… my wife had to ask next table patron to make sure we didn’t miss anything… another couple minutes later we walked out. Forget it. For a meal that would’ve cost me about $ 150 I was expecting a better service(or some service). I came home and finally read some Unilocal review, and I am so glad we walked.

This place is awful!!! Drove from providence for my birthday not only be let down but pissed off! The service was horrendous and never really got to try the food. When we asked for a manager all she did was try and give us a bill for the full amount. When I told her that was unacceptable she cut it in half and told us they had a party in the back and they were very busy«they were doing the best they could» lol if you can’t keep up with your tables stop seating people so the customers you do have get some kind of service. Thanks for nothing! Oh except the bill.

If you’re thinking this is a high quality or even mid quality Brazilian Steakhouse ala Fogo De Chao — You would be sadly mistaken. The poor quality food is only surpassed by the even poorer quality service. I sat for 25 minutes upon seating waiting for a waiter to get me started. Once I did I found the meat to be subpar. Another 40 minutes before I saw my waiter again. I would not return again and would certainly not recommend it as well.

This is my very first Unilocal review, but after enjoying a delicious, flavorful and freshly prepared meal at Rodizio Grille in Braintree, I felt compelled to write. I had purchased a Groupon for 4, and before leaving to meet our friends, my husband decided to read the reviews posted here. I had to practically drag him to the restaurant due to the negative reviews. What we experienced was almost the complete opposite of what has been posted — our server(Vanessa) was helpful and attentive, the salad bar(both hot and cold offerings) were fresh and abundant with hot items hot and cold items cold. The servers who came around the dining room with the meats were knowledgeable about their selection and accommodating, offering both rare and more well done choices off the spit depending upon where the meat was sliced from. I particularly enjoyed the lamb, sausage and tritip steak. Even the polenta fries brought to the table got a thumbs up. The only negative to the experience was that the air conditioning did not seem to be working. Fortunately, it was not a hot evening so the dining room was comfortable. The 22 oz sangria(delish) included with our Groupon helped to keep us cool.

This place is horrible! Do not waste your time or money. The meat is bland and dry! The Bread was hard, the salad bar was just sad. The young men bringing the meat out don’t speak English which is very frustrating. We asked to speak with the manager and the person that came out looked about 16 years old and gave us a free dessert and a $ 25 gift card. WOW! Which is useless because we would never return to this place. Sad…

I have been to Rodizio Grill several times since its opening, and I have found that it is on a steady decline in both service and quality. The last couple times I have gone there, there has been no host/hostess at the front, and I have had to ask the bartender to go get somebody(after 5 minutes of waiting). This will generally be followed by 10 or so minutes of waiting for a waiter/waitress to take our drink order. On at least 2 occasions I have had to ask for the appetizers that are provided with the $ 35 meal. The salad bar is usually well-stocked, although a few times the hot dishes have looked like they’ve been sitting out way too long. The staff is either seeing high turnover, or they are receiving dogshit training — what kind of rodizio doesn’t know how to slice picanha? Speaking of which, many of the meats are horribly overcooked, and the servers have been unwilling to provide better options. On my last trip there(this past weekend), I was left waiting 35 minutes for my bill(this was after alerting our server). I asked another host/server(it’s tough to tell, because most of the staff is clustered at the bar chatting) to get my bill, and the manager — only to find out that the person who left me waiting on my check WAS the manager! This was the first time I’ve left no tip in over 15 years. I would recommend avoiding Rodizio Grill until they get their shit together.

Every single person we talked to here was fantastic, from the host(manager?) to our waiter, to the kid with the meat. All the food was great, too. I’ve never been to a Brazilian steakhouse before, but getting an endless supply of delicious meats in rotation was fun! And that grilled pineapple, wow.

I’ve only eaten here during lunch, so I’m not sure how dining in the evening is. In my experience servers are not especially attentive and rarely will you be offered steak; it’s mostly chicken, pineapple, and pork. The salad bar is okay, but I don’t select many options from it because I’m more of a carnivore and prefer to enjoy their red meat offerings. The asparagus was good, but the Caesar salad had an overwhelming lemon taste to it. After waiting twenty minutes for steak to come around I decided to sample a piece of marinated chicken, and to my distaste it consisted mainly of fat. All in all it’s okay if you aren’t expecting much meat, but for someone like me it’s a big disappointment. Try Fogo De Chao in Copley if you’re looking for a more customer oriented, meat lovers heaven experience. Edit: Immediately after posting this servers came over with two different cuts of steak. One of them had heard my request earlier and made sure to come to our table first. Their sudden attention was surprising, but very much welcomed as I was pretty hungry. For that I am changing this from two to three stars, but be sure to voice your concerns about service if you want to receive a certain foodstuff.

I was hesitant coming here for dinner based on other Unilocal reviews regarding service. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The food was constantly coming to our table and the servers were very attentive. The BBQ was very tasty though some of the meats were a bit dry and over cooked. There was a big selection of cold salads and hot food but none looked very tempting to us. Overall we will probably go back but not as regulars.

Unfortunately, we had a disappointing experience at Rodizio. Let me preface by saying that I’m a big fan of Brazilian steakhouses and have had a my fair share of the all-you-can-eat meatfest meals across the country. As a result, I don’t mind paying $ 40-$ 50/plate for a good version of that meal. Rodizio, however, didn’t live up to the hefty price tag. Décor was fine, but the lighting was a little high and the location in a mall leaves something to be desired. The place was empty on a Saturday(bad sign), though we did come early around 5:30PM. The staff was friendly, but a little rough around the edges. I’m accustomed to Gauchos politely approaching and explaining their cut of meat, pacing themselves as you slowly fill your plate. At Rodizio, because we were one of the few parties in the restaurant, we had a line of 6 gauchos at our table, mumbling what meat they had, whispering and laughing to each other in line. Not very professional. Again, they were friendly, but you expect more professional service when paying this amount. The salad bar was serviceable, but missing some of the nice touches that you’ll find at a more deluxe steakhouse. Our big knock, however, is the quintessential component of the the meal… the meat. At it’s finest, Churrasco meat is a salty, crisp, melt-in-your mouth wonderland of flavor. It makes you gladly hand over your hard earned $ 50 bill and keep your little traffic light coaster green, begging for more. Rodizio’s meats were tough, chewy and lacked a standout flavor. Gaucho’s didn’t let you select how your prefer your steaks, instead struggling to carve through overdone steaks requiring an alarming effort. All in all, I wanted to like Rodizio, but I honestly can’t say that I did. Spend a little extra and head to a Churrasco alternative.

Not worth the money. Management isn’t very professional. Filthy. Heres my experience: We booked for 3 families(12 people) and upon arrival, the manager told me he was checking on our table but 25 minutes later, he still hadn’t come back. We then went to the hostess who couldn’t find our reservation so she called the manager and then realized it was there in the computer after all. Okay… we all brain dump. We then sat down to dirty water glass with lipstick stains & chunks of food on them and the hostess was steadily pouring into them until I told her we all needed new glasses. The bathroom also was filthy – one of the toilets literally had not been cleaned after someone got sick in them. Disgusting. Not a great start. In ordering, we requested different tickets for our 3 parties but the waitress said it wouldn’t be a problem to divide them in the end. It was a MAJOR problem. We even wrote what each of our 3 checks should be charged to what card for her on the back of the receipt. Should have been dummy proof. It was not. 35 minutes after waiting for our cards to come back – the waitress told us that the manager was taking care of our tickets(she never mentioned that there was overcharging issues with our cards). It wasn’t until I checked my account the next day that I realized I was charge for my meal AND the rest of the ticket for the entire meal – nearly $ 500! Another friend, same thing with her account. I called and was told by a manager that the money would return to my account in a few days, when it didn’t, I called back and left a message with an employee and never received a call back. My money was back by the end of the week but because the management wasn’t very professional in any part of my experience, I am going to ensure that others know what my experience was like in hopes that people won’t waste their money. Its unfortunate too because the meat servers were the greatest group of guys and the food is really good but I won’t be returning here. Service is KEY in where I dine – no matter how great the food is – if its poor service, its the deal breaker. Save your money & dine elsewhere!

For the price, I expected a little more. But for an all you can eat place, this wasn’t too bad. My group got the meat/salad bar combo. I can’t remember the price, but it was in the mid $ 30 range per person. With that, you get unlimited salad and meat(dessert apparently not included), as well as appetizers. The meat for the most part was so-so. Some of the steaks were way too salty or garlicky for me to handle, but I did enjoy the chicken that made its rounds around the room. I also loved the salad bar; there was a lot of variety, and I was quite excited to see chickpeas as an option. I probably wouldn’t come here again, seeing as one meal is my grocery budget for the week(gotta love couponing) and the food didn’t wow me. But it wasn’t too shabby either.

I read Cindy B’s review below and had a very similar experience, so I wanted to share. I was actually at Rodizio the same day as Cindy for lunch around 2:30. I actually enjoyed the food; the two stars is based solely on the service. Like Cindy, Stephanie was our server. She was MIA most of our meal. First off, she gave us our bananas, but never returned with the polenta and Brazilian cheese bread appetizers. We were already well into our meal when another guy(he was the host, I believe) came by and asked us how everything was. He ended up bringing the remaining appetizers when we asked. My water was also empty and she was no where to be found so I could flag her down for more water. Finally she made an appearance and brought me more water when asked. The person I was dining with had a free birthday meal, so we gave her the coupon when we were getting ready to pay. She ended up bringing us the incorrect bill. When I let her know, she brought us ANOTHER incorrect bill. Fed up, I went to speak to someone at the front of the restaurant. They took my bill and went to find Stephanie. When she came back, she apologized, but made some excuse that another waitress signed in under her name, or something like that. Whatever. It’s inexcusable. Learn to check your bills. Both of them were someone else’s and included drinks that we never ordered. Fortunately I enjoyed the food and the frequency that the gaucho chefs came around. Also, they brought a variety of meats. I had gone to Fogo de Chao in Back Bay and felt that the same type of meat was being brought around(lamb…and I don’t eat lamb), so my money was wasted there. One thing I want to point out — one of the gaucho chefs kept letting the meat pick touch my plate. I was a little grossed out by that, wondering if he did the same thing with other people. If only Rodizio had the better service of Fogo, I’d give this place more stars.

There’s no wait on Sunday night as the restaurant was half empty. we started off with banana appetizer, really liked it that I asked for a second dish. Meat quality was great, love the lamb & beef tenderloin, juicy, tender and fresh. however, on the second round, the outside part of the lamb was salty, but the inside was still good though. salad bar has lots of options, but I wasn’t too crazy about it. Waitstaff was attentive and nice as well as the guys that go around with meat sticks, really friendly. As this was our first time here, its a good experience.

A couple of friends wanted Brazilian and I thought they were referring to Rio in Quincy or somewhere else. They said they wanted to try Rodizio because they’ve heard great things about other places. This is our first time here. We walked in and were greeted by folks in clean uniform, both hostess and managers. They took my friend’s name down and told us the wait is about 20 minutes. This was just before 7pm. We waited about 10 minutes and folks who were there before us weren’t called yet. I happened to be on my phone and checked if they were on opentable which they were. I looked for the next opening and grabbed 7:15pm. At 7:07 I walked over to the hostess and told her I had a reservation. The manager told me it should be ready by the time of the reservation. 7:17pm. I walked over and wondered how much longer was the wait since my friend still hasn’t been called yet and they’ve only called 2 others while we waited. By now, my friend has already waited over 20 minutes. While standing by, the hostess was conversing with one of the managers. She was told to bring us to one of the tables in the back. While you wait, you can grab drinks from the bar which was right by the front door. There is not much room to stand around or sit to wait. There were a couple of short benches just before the bathroom which was right around the corner. There were three bartenders moving around serving customers. We followed the hostess and was seated in a more private back room where you could not see from the front. The room inside was chilly. There were several empty tables around us. Within a minute we were greeted our server Kelly who was very friendly and bubbly. She was helpful in describing the foods, pricing, drinks and such. She was very attentive and returned to check on food and cleared the dishes quickly. Drinks were brought to us quickly and refilled just as quickly. They have two menus. The one with meat is @$ 35 per person and if you just want the salad bar it was @$ 23. The price does not include drinks or desserts. The salad bar was a pretty good variety but it definitely wasn’t worth $ 23. I did enjy the Shrimp Salad which had chunks of cut up shrimp mixed with some veggies and small shelled pasta in a creamy sauce. I didn’t dare eat a lot of it but did try others. The dish to the left of it which had edamame beans were pretty good too. I didn’t care much for the steam/boiled broccoli and cauliflower. It was chilled but the taste wasn’t fresh. It seemed like it was steamed in dirty water. I also liked that there was fresh Parmesan cheese. It was so full of flavor. There wasn’t much of a food salad unfortunately. The only fruit served was cut ups of pineapple, cantaloupe, honeydew. It must have been out awhile, or perhaps the fruit was too ripe because there was a pool of water/juice in it. The pineapple was the best of the three. It was riped perfectly. Up above there were unpeeled bananas. As I said, I ordered the salad bar. Both my friends ordered the meat buffet. They got a variety — 4 different types of beef — including center cut, loin. There was also spicy sweet chicken, fish, grilled pineapple. They looked fresh and succulent. My friends said 2 of the 4 beefs they tried were very good. They didn’t care for the fish which was white fish saying it was moist but tasteless. We did not have the opportunity to try the grilled pineapple since by the time they brought it around, we already ordered dessert and asked for the bill. The chocolate dessert wasn’t very good to me but one of my friends liked it. I felt the cake itself was too dry and everything was extremely sweet. The variety is good but for the price, it wasn’t worth it. There are so many places you can go to with similar choices and not had to pay as much.
