$ 20AYCE hot pot any time/day(and a few simple sushi rolls such as spicy salmon, California etc). I don’t think i will be returning for hotpot though. If you do want to try their hot pot I HIGHLY recommend you bring your own bbq sauce! The one they give you are extremely bland & oily. Its not the same as the traditional ones you would get at like shabu, hot pot buffet in chinatown. Theirs was extremely odd(not in the good way) The sauce is so important for hot pot and they messed up there so that reduced 1 star. Although i have to say their udon was great. Meats were sliced perfectly thin. Salmon was super fresh. But their kim chi broth was horrible. Their hotpot items are extremely fresh but also extremely limited(no fried bean curd!!) I didn’t get to try their special sushi rolls but i did try their simple rolls(spicy salmon, tempura roll) and they were«okay» nothing special. Oh and their mango smoothie is extremely sour! Their fried ice-cream was also«okay» Ive had better around quincy I would come back for sushi only.

The best food ever! The service is outstanding and the owners are wonderful, very engaging and friendly! The drinks are over the top and bargain priced. Can’t say enough good things about this establishment. I’d give it 10 stars if I could! I live it here. a relaxing after work detour!

We came here about a year ago so we don’t know how it is now but we tried the sushi and hotpot buffet(different pricing for access to different areas). The buffet also allowed access to the other buffet foods. There was an okay selection of meat and veggies. There were the basics for hotpot like tofu, mushrooms, beef, shrimp, and various vegetables. The sushi buffet only had a few selections and they were kind of slow to replace tiny rolls. The hotpot broths are not that great and plain. We don’t really like hotpot but the pricing was enticing for all-you-can eat(better than shelling out $ 100+ for ordering dishes for hotpot). The green tea ice cream is terrible. This might be due to K. anticipating matcha green tea and receiving a dark green tea flavor with an icy texture. The servers were quite attentive when we needed help.

This review is for the buffet. This place is mediocre. The broths are plain and the selections are not varied. They just have many types of one thing on an already small menu. The sushi selection is actually really small and include but just a few simple rolls, the usual. When you walk in there is a hosting area, but I don’t feel like I wanted to stay since the restaurant was colored in a brown color and it was not helping any mood at all. The chairs, booths, walls and even the ceiling were of some shade of brown. the hot pot broths were just the usual and they were overdosed on MSG. I usually have a bowl of the broth when its hot before everything comes. I usually take it out and have a bowl of the broth hot and then i get half a bowl of it and just cool it down to see the difference in the taste. My mouth was literally coated with MSG and it made everything taste unappealing. The sushi that we ordered had panko on everything. Everything was drenched in panko bread crumbs, even our salmon tartar. Honestly, this place was better as a hotpot/chinese restaurant before the new current owner took over. You can definitely the crowd dwindling down. Honestly, not a come back spot for me.

Well, just found our new Chinese/Japanese take out! So much food for the money– soup, salad, choice of appetizer(we got spring rolls in 2 and chicken strips in mine for the baby) and, very unexpected but certainly welcome, 3 pieces of sushi(California rolls I believe) as well as fried rice. Amazing food! Husband even ate the sushi which is something I never thought I would see him try again and he even ate mine. Plus I ordered a Philadelphia roll on the side and it was only $ 5. The dinners were only $ 10.95 each which is about what we paid at a different place and the food is so much better. Delivery was quick and the delivery guy was really nice. We’ll be back for sure!

used Unilocal’s app to order online(Eat24 service) and it was easy as ever. def recommend it bc it starts a timer right when you place the order. anyhow not the point bc it has nothing to do with this eating experience. got a small order bc I didn’t want to fully commit to a new restaurant. the wasabi is horseradish-up-your-nose hot, the rolls didn’t fall apart in the takeout container, pupu platter had a great variety for $ 10. my favorite part was the seaweed salad bc the dressing tasted great and they had fish eggs as a garnish! no lettuce filler here thank God. I enjoyed the sushi, but I’m super particular about where I get it so I would need to eat here again to see if it’s really that good

I have never eaten in the resturant but each time I’ve gotten taken out it was ready just as I walked up and was still hot and delicious. The host is very friendly and welcoming. Last time I visited we placed an order for 4 and received a complimentary dish. Everything came out great. The pork fried rice is awesome and so is the beef and broccoli. The sushi is fresh as well. 5 stars. My go too place in an area with many low quality asian options

Ok… now that Hubby and I are regular here~~~I can honestly say this is one of our all time favorite restaurants. Last time I only reviewed their sushi(still exceptional by the way)…this time is on their hotpot. And it’s AWESOME… Their fatty beef and fish are SO fresh… when Hubby and I are on Whole30 diet, we come here at least 2x per week~~~ you really can’t beat the price on $ 20 per person all you can eat FRESH food. Their service has always been excellent~~~ however, on a busy night, might have to remind the about your appetizer but no biggie~~~ We normally come in during in mid-week, rarely on Friday and Saturday night. The servers are friendly and the owner really care about his customers. This place is NOT for romantic dinner… and you’re not paying for atmosphere… but in terms of food… it’s definitely one of the best in town. I highly recommend this place if you haven’t tried it yet~~~and yes, I am a picky customer~~

We decided to try this place due to good reviews when leaving thought how can this place possibly get 4 stars? Were people on drugs when they came here? Our first time here today and sadly I won’t be back even though it’s 2 minutes drive from my house. Hostess and waitress were very nice, I can tell they really try to satisfy their customers but they don’t know how. Food wise hotpot is really below average and their sauce is not as good as other hotpot places. Husband hated it, but he said the cocktail was strong. The hotpot menu is a joke! Extremely limited You can only get two grades of beef which is sirloin beef and fatty beef. Meat was terribly chewy and not fresh, shrimp is soft and saugy. We also got watercress and enoki mushroom and noodle, that’s it!!! No lie, my husband didn’t even eat, but my 3 year old still wants more shrimp. Our waitress was nowhere to be found, after a while I said enough is enough i had to get up and literally went to find her, while the hostess is busy chatting and laughing with some people. I read Unilocal reviews and someone mentioned $ 2 beer when you get the buffet which is not true, we was charged $ 25 for 2 beers and one cocktail… Which is fine but I was expecting the $ 2 beer thing. Eating my stomach starts hurting but I brushed it off til I got home. Sorry too much info but I miserable the whole night in my restroom. For $ 86 tips included wasn’t worth it at all, Back to Shabu restaurant on Hancock St.

This place is absolute gem in Quincy: — delicious crispy calamari — flavorful beef and broccoli — amazing pineapple fried rice — free appetizer when using Unilocal to check in! — yummy melon based drinks(got the Pearl Harbor) — reasonable prices! A great find indeed.

If you are too lazy to go to Quincy, it will do. They will forget your order, and the service is slow. But, the food is good. I would go for lunch or dinner at the bar. Wouldn’t bring someone you’re trying to impress. P.S, the waitress took my beer away with the check, before I finished it. Lol

It’s been a while since our last visit. We rave about the place to our friends. This time, we brought a friend with us. The restaurant was busy. We generally order sushi items only(no hotpot). We’d always been weary bout the sushi lead time if the restaurant get busy(generally the sushi takes a while on a slow night). Guess we found out the hard way. The service was a bit lacking — had to ask the server a couple times about our appetizers, salad and soup. It took almost an hour for our sushi entrees to come out! You can tell the sushi chef did not put in the same level attention in the presentation as he normally does which is understandable for a busy night. However, for my hubby’s sashimi combo platter — the tuna was tough as leather and not chewable. We informed the server and the host/manager stopped by. She said the sushi chef gave us a better tuna grade– called chewy tuna. Nice gesture if only it was edible and better — not buying into their excuse. The sushi chef should know the fish quality when he’s slicing it. Overall, the dining experience was off-key. They should have kept their A-game.

My gf has long talked about this being the«other» place I should go to for local sushi. She even mentioned that it’s the same owners as Fuji in Wollaston. Mmm, perhaps this was an out-of-the-norm experience but it was just downright terrible. We tried the spicy salmon and hamachi hand rolls which looked nothing like the ones I get from from Fuji and the sashimi quality(at least on that night) left much to be desired. Actually, it was subpar. The Toro was chewy and inedible. Our saving grace was that the free Unilocal check-in appetizer, Angry and the Spider Maki were decent. The food along with a 1.5 hour+ wait to eat due to also being short staffed just wasn’t worth it.

This used to be a different asian buffet place that didn’t serve hotpot but did include chinese and some sushi items. they’ve changed hands again and now offer hot pot and sushi all under one menu and one buffet price. the items are pretty limited and not as much as other places. HOWEVER — considering the price… i am a very happy camper. They offer many of the items i do like on their hotpot menu. only a few rolls were on the menu which are included in the hotpot buffet price but you can also order from the regular menu at half off. when you order salmon on the hotpot menu, they actually give you salmon that’s sushi grade so you can eat it as sashimi or you can have it cooked. The first time i was there, i wasn’t so happy with the place. the main reason was miscommunications in that they weren’t clear on the menu, and there was also a wait that wasn’t anticipated. their was also a matter of a small language barrier even i was having with some of the workers there. this last time i was there, our waitress was very tentative and sociable. her english wasn’t perfect but she was trying hard. the place was very busy and she kept forgetting our stuff but she did work hard. because it was mid-autumn festival and celebrations, they were offering the rock crab on the house. this was a nice addition. PLUS, it was very fresh. the thing was still moving after it was all chopped up and dropped in the boiling broth. overall, experience was positive. can’t wait to come back :)

Very nice place. $ 19.99 for Japanese hotpot and sushi. In Boston area it is an incredible price! You can have unlimited Japanese beef and salmon sashimi! It has become one of my favorite place in Boston! And their service, warm and nice. $ 1.99 Sapporo beer with ice and $ 19.99 buffet, it makes my weekend perfect!

This place is a hidden gem!!! Alexandra is a great bartender and very sweet! The entire staff is friendly and the service is great. The sushi can’t be beat and the Chinese food is fresh and outstanding. This place has become a place that I frequent often. My favorite is the Angry Dragon roll and the Avocado Salad. I can’t believe that I can get into this restaurant without a long wait. Alexandra will make you a drink to satisfy any mood. A woman at the bar told me that she was served the best drink she ever had called«Alexander The Great».

My boyfriend and I were in the Braintree area craving sushi after a long day at work and the Unilocal reviews led us here. The restaurant was about half full. When being seated I asked if we could have a booth(since there were so many open) and she said they were reserved for hot pot but no one asked if we wanted hot pot. We didn’t but I thought that was odd. Our waitress Lisa came over super friendly. She was a little … how can I say this nicely … white trashy? which was surprising to find at a Japanese restaurant but she couldn’t have been sweeter. We first enjoyed a free app for checking in on Unilocal. We had a choice between scallion pancakes or some kind of raw salmon dish and opted for the pancakes. They were hot, crisp, delicious. Of course things always taste better when they’re on the house. We also ordered a few maki rolls — all awesome! We were still hungry so we ordered a Pu Pu Platter for one to go. It came with a lot of food and was a perfect late night snack. They also have a really nice bar! We would have probably sat there and watched the basketball game that was on but we walked right past it. We skipped drinks that night because it was the first meal of the day for both of us but they had a great cocktail menu. The drinks were super cheap too. Definitely will be back!
