Not bad. I was lured by the prospect of frozen custard while shopping at the Braintree mall as I had never had frozen custard before. Needless to say, it’s a cross between frozen yogurt and soft serve ice cream. I don’t think I’d go out of my way to get it but if I were in the mall and had a taste for something cold and creamy, then yes.

The location is no longer Kohr Brothers, and the product definitely doesn’t taste as good. :0(

They just opened, it was a cold windy morning — and I must have startled the woman behind the counter, sitting in the back room mixing custard. She was curt and told me the wrong price and my vanilla tasted like peanut butter. If you don’t have a frozen custard place near you and your jonesing for custard and 8 months pregnant this is the place to go. I’m sure I went on an off day but for $ 3.75 I felt disappointed.

I used to eat the Vanilla and Peanut butter flavor everytime I went shopping with my mom; being a toddler back then anything sweet, soft, and cold tasted good to me. Now that I’m a teenager/young adult it taste ‘A-OK’. I remember it used to be silky smooth and it still does. I just don’t like the peanut butter flavor. Now as a teenager/young adult the only flavors I eat are the Vanilla, Orange, and chocolate flavors; taste great! What’s better than a creamsicle custard! I don’t really remember how the Strawberry flavor taste but I remember it wasn’t up to par to me, even as a kid so it probably won’t taste so good as a teenager/young adult.

It’s alright… I got the frozen vanilla custard and orange sherbert(creamsicle) but it really tasted like regular soft serve vanilla ice cream. I was a little disappointed since I tried to compare it to Abbott’s Frozen Custard which seemed to be much more flavorful and creamy. I’ll give it another try on another day.

As we’re walking through South Shore plaza, my husband spots this looong line at Kohr bros and says«hey, I want to get some custard, the line is long, it must be good». Being the recent Unilocal addict that I’ve become, while we’re waiting in line, I look at their reviews. Thanks Lawrence W! hahaha. We got the orange-vanilla twist and it was OMG yummy! We walked into one of the shops in the mall(custard in hand) and the 3 young girls working there start commenting in their high-pitch voices«oh my god, that looks sooo good»…“oooh, is that orange cream”, it was kinda funny to watch and listen to, I felt like Justin Beiber just walked in or something. Def try the orange-vanilla twist!

I paid $ 4 for a petite vanilla on a cone with jimmies. I don’t really dig frozen custard that is soft and melty texture. I was racing time on eating this b4 it all melts and get messy. When I’m walking in a mall, I really don’t exactly feel that I have to eat frozen dessert like I’m at the beach on a hot summer day but i sure did. Overpriced for what I got and had to go thru. Perhaps, I do need to go back to DC to get the irrestible frozen custard!

Just a few weeks ago, I was walking through the South Shore Plaza for the first time in years, and what did I find? OHMYGODNOWAY — IT’S A KOHR’S!!! See, here’s the thing. I grew up in New Jersey, about 45 minutes from the shore at Point Pleasant. So every summer, my family and I would take frequent trips to the boardwalk to play games, sit on the park benches by the inlet and watch the boats sail by, and eat DELICIOUS, UNHEALTHYJUNKFOOD. It was pretty much paradise for a kid. And one of the best treats there was the orange-vanilla twist at Kohr’s. It’s not ice cream, and it’s not frozen yogurt… but it tastes like soft-serve ice cream and it has the same nutrition profile as frozen yogurt, so it’s kind of the best of both worlds. And the orange-vanilla twist flavor is like a big ol’ creamsicle in a cone — TOTALLYAMAZING. Maybe I love it so much because it’s just one big nostalgia trip for me. But if you happen to be in the South Shore Plaza and you walk by this place, then really — give it a try. Close your eyes and maybe you’ll even hear seagulls, too.
