Macy’s

I am so disappointed in Macy’s…they used to be the go to department store. I’ll do all my shopping at Lord and Taylor now. I went in here this past week and it was absolutely atrocious. You were falling over clothes everywhere you went. One of the fitting rooms was absolutely impassable as there was clothes just thrown on the floor piles and piles of clothes. It looked like they had been ransacked and robbed. I don’t know about you but I don’t want to buy clothes that have been on a filthy floor… My mother also went to the ladies room while we were there and she said if a health inspector came to inspect the store, they would have shut the store down because the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. When she went to complain to a manager no one offered to show her where the offices were, they just pointed and never said a word. The manager then told my Mother that they had employees check the bathroom every half hour and that’s all he can ask for. it is? What happens if they check it and it is in horrible condition? Do they do anything or just leave? My mom had had a Macy’s credit card for years and she is now considering cancelling it. Very disappointed. You lost our business.

Macy’s has a shop on line and pick up in store service that is outstanding. The pick up location is super conveniently located so you can just walk in the door, and get your stuff without digging through racks etc. Turns out the handbag I ordered as a gift was smaller than I thought it was, so I went to the handbag section with what I had purchased, had a very knowledgeable woman help me find the most perfect gift. Then they refunded the online order, added a promo coupon and rang me out in under 10 minutes. At the price I paid, I would have dug through bins — instead I got super service 3 days before Christmas. Thank you Macy’s

So let’s not even get to the selections and price and all, I’m pass that stuff. I’ve picked out the one thing that I want and all I need to do is pay for it, yet that is a journey in itself. The cash register that belongs to the item I want to buy is empty, and the registers from other sections cannot ring up the item, so as Im still waiting for a person to show up here, I’m writing this review (15 mins ongoing). Thought you guys are all about customer service? Good job Macy’s!

Debbie in Jewelry is great she helped us by bringing us to a line nobody was in after she saw me stuck behind a indecisive lady with expired coupons. She also helped me find a few items I needed to go with a set for my moms bday. Bottom line she went out of her was to help, which is rare. If anybody cares, she deserves a raise and promotion for great customer service.

The Wedding Registry department at Macy’s can’t be beat! All the ladies who helped my husband, myself (and my mom on a few occasions) are awesome. They made sure we had everything we needed, helped us get all the best sales on items we purchased after the wedding and to this day remember us when we go in, almost a year later. We all know how busy the store is and how many people they interact with on a daily basis, but it never shows because these sales associates treat you like you are the only people there. Thank you so much for all your hard work!

I usaully dont shop here because of how expensive for example for a simple tank top that I could buy at walmart for $ 3.98, they sell them for $ 24.98

They lie about sales until you get to the cash register thinking you love the outfit so much that you will just go with it, But watch me tell them put it back, No thank you and Walk off I hate deception.

I usually have either no luck here at all, or a ton of luck. All winter long I was disappointed with the selection, but spring is already starting to make up for it. The layout isn’t great, it doesn’t flow easily and sometimes there are too many things in the way to walk through what should be pathways.
Often I go to pay and can’t find anyone at the register. This happens a lot. Basically be sure you bring your patience when you’re coming here and you’ll be ok.
Over all I like this place and when every I do find something here, it’s something I love and wear forever.

For the most, I like Macy’s, especially the sales! One thing that rubs me the wrong way is that when I want to use a coupon/​code, and the total order drops to under $ 100.00 — sometimes just under resulting in a shipping charge. The result is that you don’t get much of the discount that is offered. I don’t think that the discounted order total should be the total within which to apply the discount. The shipping cot should be based on the the total of the order not the discounted total. It’s a turn off.
I recently used Macy’s Personal Shopper. She asked me some question about the colors I like. When I went to my appointment with her, she was not prepared. She did not bring one piece of clothing with colors I had spoke to her about. She had colors of clothing, which were colors that I was not interested in. My job is in a conservative field, but she offered clothing items that were not conservative. She contact the Boston Macy’s store to see if they had a sweater for me. She never me whether to not the item was located at the Boston store. I followed up with her, and I did hear back that the Boston store had not let her know by that time. No followup by her since them. She was dressed in all black — and part of her top was a see through lace top. She was dressed unprofessionally as compared to the other personal shoppers I have used in the past at Macys. She was dressed in black from head-​to-​toe with the lace on the top part of her blouse — it was very cheap looking. Sorry to say that, but she wasn’t dressed appropriately for her job. Her hair was bleached blonde, which was not flattering. tn addition, she never asked if I was a petite size etc… One would think that she could have figured that out when I met with her to discuss setting up an appointment.
I do not recommend this personal shopper. I miss the woman who used to do this job — Lisa — who wax very professional and knowledgable.
I won’t be going back to her.

Despite their decent selection, almost every experience here is miserable. The salespeople clearly hate their lives. The store is almost always filthy, and their layout is a labyrinth. I want to like this place so much. But every experience here is soul crushing.

Extremely costly even on the day of Black Friday’s sale… Very very high price and clothes looks too cheap compare to price tag on it.

I went shopping yesterday and wanted to buy lipstick for my trip in a couple of weeks. I was really excited to buy a new lipstick until one of the ladies at the MAC counter which her name was Jenna made me feel really uncomfortable. I do not think I will EVER go back there again. Her attitude and her way of asking me if I stole a lipstick was UNREAL!!! Just because I had my OWN mac lipstick out she assumed I took it. I could not believe I felt violated in so many ways as a customer. If anyone goes to MAC in Macys at the Braintree mall make sure Jenna is not there to help you because she is very rude!

I came here last week, and the clothes was everywhere. The staff didnt greet me, or asked me if I needed help when I stoid at the same spot looking at rhem for over 20mins. Even when I was infront of them, they didnt say a word to me. As I got impatient, I asked them to help me and they aaid they’re busy. Being in retail, where was the customer service skills at? Even as my friend paid, the staff took the payment with her back turned, and took the money when my friend wasnt even finished putting all the money down yet.

I had to do one star because I can’t put zero, I stood by the Michael kors watch section literally for about 10 minutes and no one had said anything to me she was literally in my face trying to close a case and not once looked at me and asked for help. Rude? Yes. So I finally asked if I can take a look at a watch and she said «hold on I’m actually helping a customer out» okay I get it but she could of at least greeted me and mentioned that she would be right with me. So after all that is done and I finally got her attention she started to ring me up I had a lot of questions about the watch which she couldn’t give me any answers, talk about knowing your product. she then talked about warranty that I should get one and it’ll be 2 years coverage so I agreed and then she failed to communicate that there’s a 50 $ charge for that and come to find out when I asked for a reliable information on the watch it already has a 2 year warranty on it. idk overall I will say I won’t shop at Macy’s in south shore ever again.

I go to this Macy’s a lot and it can be pricey on which brand you buy. But you can find great deals their too! When ever I go there I always see thing on sale. The service can be slow but not always. And the store is messy but has every color, brand, and style.

Awful Macy’s.The merchandise is all piled throughout the store and the sizes are mislabeled… The dressing room door locks are broken at least in the petite section. Took forever for me to check out yesteday as the item I wanted didn’t have a tag and the clerk had to look up the price… the store is disorganiz
ed and almost not worth the hassle. Hanover is almost in better shape than this branch…
Store just overall seems cluttered and dirty.

My dress sizes varies in certain stores. In some stores, I’m a 0. In others, I can fit into a 2. I saw a gorgeous sundress on a mannequin in the women’s department, but could only find sizes that would look like circus tents on me. I asked an associate if they carried a 0 or a 2 and she placed her hand to her mouth and LAUGHED at me. Then, proceeded to reply to me with, «We only carry MATURE sizes!», and then just walked away from me with a snobby air.
Seriously? How incredibly rude. I’m contributing to your paycheck, dude. God forbid that I am a petite woman who isn’t contributing to this country’s friggin’ obesity epidemic.
If you’re a Clinique user, make sure that you specify what type of skin you have and double check your bag before leaving. Some of the women at that counter are so eager to get a customer to go away that they’ll just grab any product off of the shelf and carelessly toss it into a bag and ring you up. It’s annoying to have to drive all the way back to Braintree to return a type 1 for a type 4.

Outstanding customer service!
I was shopping with a friend yesterday and I wanted to sample a spritz of an Estee Lauder perfume that is kind of obscure. Naturally, there were no Estee Lauder representatives to be found. A lady named Fang appeared and asked if she could help me. She patiently rummaged behind the counter to find the two testers I asked for, then pulled out every bottle in the drawers to find the ones I wanted, She was pleasant, no pressure at all and did not make us feel rushed. Compared to my usual experience trying to buy perfume, this was utterly delightful.
By the way, I tried to find what I wanted at Nordstrom’s first but they had neither the testers nor the actual bottles for sale. If you are looking for an obscure E.L., head straight to Macy’s.

We just spent a ton of money here for xmas but we got a car full of items all on sale, all great prices. I have a new appreciation for this place. So happy that I am considering opening a Macy’s charge card. Yes, people, that is shocking bc I usually hate individual store cards, but seeing the savings my mother got while using her newly opened account was impressive.
The store is crowded often and can get messy (esp shoe dept)
The women’s clothes selection is vast, most of which is not my style from the get-​go unless I am willing to do some serious searching.
Bonus: (i.e. Fourth star) Huge Carter’s selection to fill the void of the separate Carter’s store closing down in this mall.
Another bonus: Lost my Macy’s gift card but had the receipt. With the receipt and my license, they were able to replace it!
I just wish the sore would be neater more often.

It looks like a tornado hit this place! It is ALWAYS a disaster in here!!! Not one single time have I gone here and it was neat. Not an exaggeration.
I have bought kids clothes here (NorthFace), but I think they should add new better styles to that department.
They also only have boxes to put clothes in (say for a birthday in my case) during HOLIDAYS ONLY. I mean what if you don’t have one like me!
If this place was not a pigsty, and had better clothes, and boxes, it would have ⁴⁄₅ stars.
