Genies Weenies

You’re not really going here for Geenie’s Weineys, unless that’s what you want. Their weineys are good. Garlicky with a nice snap. Weineys are just one item on the menu. Who doesn’t like a good weiney? I just like the word weiney.
A little hole in the wall with super sized portions. Very limited indoor seating, so feel free to cozy up on someone’s lap.
For bfast, they have excellent omelettes. Lunch has good grill items (burgers, etc.) Can stay or take out. Very reasonable prices.

Genie’s Weenies offers great cheese steak sliders, very tasty! Real tender beef, not the processed meat. We will definitely come back to try their burgers. The place is small with some tables outside, which is great for the summer. We opted to eat inside, despite the beautiful weather outside, to avoid the dust and noise of cars passing by on Route 22.

Genies is an awesome little all day eatery off of rt 22. I ordered a couple of dogs here for the first time yesterday and I agree with all of the great reviews here. I keep a short list of go to places for takeout and Genies made the list on the first attempt. A great family run operation who (you can tell right away) cares about their customers by serving great comfort food. Enjoy!

For over 10 years now, I’ve been looking for a burger/​hot dog joint that I could be happy with going to, find a great staff who remembers me, has great food, and has great prices. I’ve finally found my spot, and it is here at Genie’s Weenies. This place has some of the best items on the menu that I’ve ever tried from a burger/​hot dog place.
From their meat to the buns, hands down has some of the tastiest, biggest patties and hot dogs that I’ve had. Every succulent burger they hand you, is sizzling and drilling with cheese, a monster pile of very crispy, tasty fries, and a nice side of cole slaw and a very juicy pickle. This is hands down the best burger I’ve had on the east coast, if not from all around. The thick, juicy hot dogs are from my favorite company (Thumann’s) and they pile on nice toppings, such as BBQ onions, bacon, cheese, cole slaw and onions. Best hot dogs I’ve tried.
They give you so much bang for your buck, which really makes you feel good about your purchase. The staff, who are the owners, are beyond friendly, and always make me feel welcome and put a smile on my face. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this place, the food or the staff. My only hope is that they get a bigger place and expand, because their food needs to be tasted by the masses. Quality and quantity is something they make sure you appreciate.
I give them an A++. They truly know what good food is and how to make you feel good coming in and leaving.

We decided to stop in the try it for lunch while looking around the area. It was such a great place! Staff is friendly, food is great, prices are low. I am sure to be back since the atmosphere was laid back, clean, and felt like visiting a grandparent.

Very friendly staff, great food. We had the loaded chili dogs and a double bacon cheeseburger. It was way more food than I needed, but I loved every bite.

A branchburg institution. Can’t go wrong here. Wether you’re trying to kill your hangover or trying to have a fantastic breakfast or lunch, geenies has you covered. The specials are always delicious. I’ve been coming here for at least 6 years. Not once have I left unsatisfied. My favorite is the bacon cheese burger or the waffles. Fire.

I’ve had this place to visit on my radar for a long time and finally decided to drive out of my way with a friend.
It’s small inside and there’s not a lot of room to really enjoy eating in. My table was a little dirty. There’s a few tables outside that would be good in the summer, but right now it’s winter and freezing out today. Having said that has no effect on my review because, because even though it’s small it’s still cozy and I like the decorations.
My review is based solely on the food and the service. The ladies behind the counter were friendly, but when I went to check out they had their backs turned to everyone and the one lady was going on about burning her finger or something. No big deal I guess. Just took 2 minutes longer to check out.
The food wasn’t very good. Reading the menu they have a «Texas Weiner». It’s got BBQ onions on it, bacon and cheese. I’ve been to countless «Texas Weiner» restaurants in New Jersey and they all have «greek chili sauce», mustard, and onions. I wasn’t even going to give this a try.
I opted for an Italian Hot Dog. It was a decent size for the price, but they cut up the hot dog into little pieces. It was a Thumann’s hot dog, but I wonder what kind. It was nasty. Tasted almost like kielbasa rather than a hot dog and visiting Thumann’s website I see they make a Turkey Kielbasa. I’m already upset that I couldn’t finish my meal since I hate kielbasa, but if it was a turkey kielbasa I’m even more upset because I hate turkey.
I forget what my friend had, but I do remember he ordered a hot dog with coleslaw. He did not ask for a Slaw Dog, which they have on the menu and gave him by mistake. The Slaw Dog has Russian Dressing on it, which he didn’t want. He said the Cole Slaw seemed to be made with milk, thus very messy, and it was too crunchy, and didn’t mix well with the Russian Dressing.
I gave them 2 stars rather than 1, because I’m sure they have some other good stuff on the menu since so many people give good reviews on this place, but I’ll never know as I’m never coming back.

The french toast portion is a must have, I’d suggest sharing it between 2 – 3 people. Other items are Sandwiches, rolls, omelete, etc. Inside seating area seats about 10 – 15 people, there are also outside seating. Nice place to grab breakfast and lunch. Very local, down to earth, food serves fast, as log as there isn’t a balloon festival going on near by, cause then everyone would rush here based on Unilocal review. I would definitely stop by the place again when Im in the area. Aan alo they have these mini puzzle games on the table while you wait for your food:)

Stop by for breakfast or lunch and you won’t be disappointed. I have had breakfast sandwich s omlets. All cooked to order and generous portions lunch is great too with daily lunch specials.
The staff is always friendly and it is clean. The only down side is the place is small not too many tables. I us all eat out side or get it to go.

Looks like a hole-​in-​the-​wall-​kinda-​place, and it is. Seating is limited and tight. The building is weird (but the color makes it easy to find). The staff is friendly, and the french toast portion is gi-​normous. Terrific, classic Jersey roadside food stand. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area, especially if you eschew chain eateries.

I have had Genies on my radar for months. My fiancé comes here almost every week and has loved everything he’s ever tried. He’s not the only one who sings Genies praises though, everyone who knows it seems to love it. I thought it had to be too good to be true…
But no, Genies really is worthy of her almost perfect Unilocal rating. It’s the type of place that should be on Diners, Drive-​ins and Dives. Tiny little shack on the side of the road serving up some good old American grub in a no frills environment.
It was a little early for weenies, so we had some breakfast which is always served all day. I had the melt in your mouth, buttery, glorious french toast which could easily feed a family of 4. I only made it through 3 pieces out of 10 before throwing in the towel — It was worth every heart stopping bite though. He had the «Triple B» which was basically every breakfast food imaginable on a huge roll. Low prices and friendly service. Plenty of outdoor seating as the inside is a little cramped.
Seriously, stop driving by this place and just stop in already. You won’t be disappointed.

Amazing breakfast and the portions are huge! If you’re looking for a local reasonably priced breakfast place, this is definitely the place to stop by. The French toasts are super buttery and soft.

My husband and I finally tried this place and are so happy we did! It is very tiny inside– a couple of tables and a counter w/​stools. What’s nice is that the counter looks out to the highway so I didn’t feel so closed in.
My husband had the chili dog w/​cheese & onions. I had the french toast. Both lived up to the reviews. The french toast portion is very large and was great the next day after I heated it up in the toaster oven.
The owner is friendly and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back to try more menu items and support this local business!

Small little green shack that you might just drive on by but worth a visit. Small cramped inside especially in the morning making this not the best place for a sit down bite to eat. Summer time you can sit outside on the picnic benches. The have great breakfasts and hot dogs. I personally the like the pork roll egg and cheese. The prices are decent here.
The coffee is really good as well. I am a fan and always stop in when in the area.
