The ice wine and cream sherry stand out as highlights. A real baller vineyard. I had a great time at the tasting with all of the expert staff.

One of the best wineries on the lake. Very knowledgeable staff who love the wine. The regular tasting, as well as the chocolate tasting, is great. I highly recommend paying the extra dollar to try the ice wine at least once– it’s delicious. The money you spend on your tasting comes back to you in coupons, which is nice if you’re buying bottles. The Alchemy and the Chardonnay are my two favorites, but there’s something for everyone, and they also sell other local products.

We have been coming to Keuka Lake & Hunt County winery for 20 years. They have great wines & have greatly enlarged their winery space, as, many other wineries in this area. If you are traveling to the Fingerlakes area from out of state, I would check out the Keuka Wine trail for there events, you get many wine tastings with a food presentation. You can also take a wagon trip through the grape vineyard area. We enjoy the peaceful area, lake or no lake! The N Y Fingerlakes(in our opinion), has the best wines with many choices. Do not care for Napa, Sonoma, many other states or countries.

I usually don’t like writing a negative review, however, this place is ridiculous! I will say that it is nestled in a cute location(although you cannot see the lake), the vineyards and picnic tables outside are very pleasing. But the service is appalling. They have tons of counter space, but offer no order. No one to greet you and account for you. You have to hover behind the people who are tasting and then rush to the wine tender in order to get in. Otherwise people who come in after you and hover get in before you do. I find it extremely disorganized. After 10 – 15 minutes of waiting and seeing others who came in after us taste before us(because they were aggressively waiting behind the current tasters), we left. I just don’t see the point of having an experience where you have to fight your way to taste wine and when you finally get to the counter to taste, the next set of people are hovering behind you impatiently waiting. Just defeats the purpose. Needless to say, I will not be back here. I’d suggest to the owners that they find a better system for tasting.

This was the only winery I checked out that didn’t have a view of any lake; despite the absence of lakeside charm this was still on a cute little parcel of land. It was also one of the more crowded wineries, so apparently they have built up a loyal fan base over the years. When I saw they offered a wine and chocolate tasting for four dollars I knew I had to try it. The chocolates they had to offer were very interesting; for instance their best combination was their coconut curry flavored chocolate with their Vignoles wine. It was a great combination, the best of the four I tried for sure. Also keep in mind that for regular tastings it costs extra to try the ice wine, but when you do the chocolate tasting you can pick the ice wine for no extra cost. Of their desert wines I must say their cream sherry really stood out. It was extremely alcoholic and burned a bit but it still had a great flavor to it. The Vignoles, ruby port and ice wine were all solid offerings as well. However, I did try some of my boyfriend’s drier wines and was not impressed. Compared to other wineries, they were definitely lacking in that regard. Go for the desert wines. You won’t be disappointed there. Skip the dry wines though.

Wine & regional products at a tasting room/store. Plenty of bar space for tastings, big parking area. Pretty wide selection of wines and a staff that can lead you through a tasting session. Some of the wines cost extra to try(Ice.) Hunt Country deliberately tweaks wine snobs with its«Foxy Lady» wines that proudly adopt the derogatory tasting note attached to native grapes. The store has all kinds of country products ranging from crafts to New York vodka, bourbon & gin. There’s probably more here, but it’s had lots of people there on most of my visits. Not my favorite winery, but there’s something that stands out on every visit, so I keep coming back.

This was our first visit to this area, and our first winery. Many of the wines were good. The tastings are inexpensive, and small. They use those automatic toppers, and the pour is literally two swallows. You are only allowed to do one tasting, which was 5 wines, even though they make more than that. That was disappointing for us as we are here all week and would have liked to try everything in order to buy a case for the week. Instead we only bought 2 bottles. They have 3 ice wines, but we were only allowed to taste the 40 $ bottle, and it was not worth buying it fit that price. We did like the wines, but the overly commercial feel of the place left us looking for a smaller lesser known vineyard.

I have been here twice now and have left happy both times. The first time was for a wine tasting with the family. The second was a paired chocolate and wine tasting which was great. My mom says they also offer cheese and wine tastings, which I cannot wait to try next time I am out there. The staff are always nice and I always find at least one or two wines I like there. You can also try their ice wine, a unique and different treat. Even if you don’t like it you still get to try it. Not all of the wineries have/make their own.

If you come here with a group, DONOT expect them to honor the foursquare discount that comes up. Mark the manager called me a ‘pain in the ass’ for even inquiring about it. They lost my business!

Took a last minute trip up to Rochester this past weekend to visit my boyfriend. While up there, I decided we should go on another Finger Lakes wine tour(we went last year to Seneca Lake), but this time on Keuka Lake. This was our first stop. When we first arrived, we were worried that we were the only ones there, as we didn’t see any other cars in the parking lot. However, when we were inside, they didn’t make us feel awkward. It’s $ 2 to try 5 wines, and $ 1 extra to try the ice wine. They give you $ 1 coupons to use on their wines, so if you buy a bunch of bottles, your tasting is basically comped. They also offer a wine and cheese plate, or a wine and chocolate pairing, however we opted just to try the wines. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable about their wines. I tried mainly their whites, which were all pretty decent. My boyfriend went for the sweeter ones, including the ice wine, which was delicious. In the middle of our tasting, a bunch of other people showed up, so I guess we just got there early.

Excellent service, best wine we tasted out of several wineries on Keuka and overall just a great place. They offered a nice cheese and wine pairing or a chocolate and wine pairing which I thought was so nice and added such a personal touch. They didn’t rush you and they spent a lot of time one on one with you which we didn’t get from many of the surrounding wineries. Great little gift shop as well. By far my favorite winery we visited.

This was our first stop of our Finger Lakes wine tasting adventure(being from the Napa area) and we absolutely started with the best. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the woman behind the counter was sweet and wanted to know all about the winery that I work at. When she realized that I wasn’t a big fan of the regions reds and steered me to the much better sweets. I would like to note that I hate sherry, but she poured me a sherry that made me weak at the knees. As I write this I am staring at my bottle wanting to open it but hating to not have it anymore.

The first stop of our wine tasting tour around lake Keuka. Also one of my favorites of the day. Even though it costs a little extra, you MUSTTRY the Ice Wine, it is one of the coolest tasting drinks ever. I’m not a big fan of dessert wines, and I believe this falls into that category, but holy crap is it good. If you’ve never had one, basically they let the grapes sit on the vine until after the first freeze so that they are good and frozen when they get mashed. I’m not well versed in how or why, but this leads to a super sweet, awesome flavor. The employees there can fill you in on the details. If you really need to trust me on this one, I picked up a bottle($ 50 and I’m a cheapo) to take home with me. Also a really cool gift shop, my wife found a few little gifts to take home to the family.

Great atmosphere with an even better view. The staff was personable and knew their wines. Our tasting room employee was new but still great and knowledgeable. Good wines on the dry side. Also had some pretty yummy wine ice cream and interesting wine kitch. Good experience and definitely worth the trip(a mile from the main road).

Another large Finger Lakes region winner — this place is large and commercial but retains a warm, family-run feel of a smaller winery(if I would compare it to a Virginia winery, it would probably be Barrel Oak in Delaplane). The wines are all good — stand outs being their Seyval Blanc, Vignoles, and another fantastic dry Riesling.(Although their semi-dry was good as well, if you’re more into the sweeter versions). They get a huge kudos for offering their old newsletter subscribers a «$ 10 off any bottle» gift card, for simply choosing to receive their newsletter via email, vs. paper.(To help the environment and cut down on their costs). I have yet to use this coupon but it merits a trip back to this spot.

This is a much larger and more commericalized winery. They have an enormous tasting room, easily able to accomodate large parties. Not the same rolling views of Keuka Lake as some other local wineries, but definitely a great place to sample wines. Lots of awards, countless wines, and very friendly folks.
