The wine is 4 stars. I tried all of the dry reds and they are all nice affordable table wines. They are around 12 $ and they won’t blow you away but they also won’t make you cringe. The porch and the hospitality of the wine pourer are what definitely deserves a 5+ rating. Outside food is welcome and it’s a perfect place to taste and then do lunch on the porch.

Another hidden gem that makes wines and not views of Keuka Lake. Located in an old house, up a steep driveway, Yates Cellars has a great selection of wines. We tried the selection of 10 which was a great value. Our host knew his wines and offered helpful suggestions. We plan to stop back with our friends to try the rest.

More remote than other Keuka Lake wineries, and no lake view, but the property is large and the old house is inviting. The owner /winemaker provided a leisurely and informative tasting in the main room of the house, and there I had my first experience with«Vincent,» a red varietal that’s a popular wine in Canada. He also has a dry Gewürztraminer that’s a winner.

This winery doesn’t seem to be on any of the local tourist maps, but it definitely looks like this place has been around for a LONG time. The winery is inside a very historic mansion of sorts. The place has a lot of interesting history and is a pretty unique setting for a winery. I recall about a dozen wines to choose from, plenty of variety as well.
