The place looks like its all closed up, yet again…

The food is great here but the service is pathetic. I am not sure what happened. Tonight I sat there for 15 minutes and neither waitress looked at me. I walked out. The bartender was more worried about giving out free beers instead of customer service. I love the owners but the wait staff is going to stop me from coming back

Would give it zero stars if I could. It stunk the moment we walked in and that should have been warning enough. My fiancé «no onion» request on his burger was followed by not only raw onions but fried onions both being put right on top of it. Not to mention he asked for medium and the burger as burnt. My Ruben came out and looked strange. Instead of corned beef or even pastrami as they are sometimes made it had this fowl tasting white mystery meat in it and burnt toast for the bread. I even asked the server what the meat was and she said she didn’t know. Immediately asked for a manager and was told there wasn’t one on property… Uhhh way to support your staff owners. Needless to say we ran out and We will never step foot in there again.

Now I do feel bad because what I am about to review is going to be a little bit negative as I was highly disappointed. Especially since the waitress was incredible, super helpful running all over the place to try to make everybody happy and she succeeded. It’s your typical older style bar where you can go and watch football games and drink beer, love those places right?! But this is about where it ends. I had a weird feeling because the place was empty at 6:30 on a Saturday night. Uh oh. Never a good sign. The food. Was terrible. It was definitely edible but it felt like it was made from the frozen appetizer section at Walmart or Winn-Dixie or Publix whatever you like. Pub food can be delicious but this was just absolutely terrible. I would give it one star but I got three because like I said the waitress she was amazing.

Chef is trying something new and it’s fantastic. A Reuben egg roll and a Jamaican Jerk chicken egg roll. The jerk is terrific but the Reuben is great too. So hard to choose. YUM!

Great little neighborhood place. I’ve stopped in here a few times in the last few months and been happy with my food every time. My favorites are the Tailgate Burger and the Shrimp Wrap. The fries that come with both are delicious! Really family friendly place with games for the kids and inviting atmosphere. One thing that could improve is better rotation of craft beer handles. The selection is decent but could improve with more options! Definitely planning on stopping in again soon, especially on Wednesday nights for trivia.

When this was big bellies it was awesome. Then sluggers took over. The Burgers are made with low quality meat(don’t like arteries while hitting in my burger) homemade chips are atrocious. Veggie toppings are not fresh. Stay away from this place.

Great burger, fries, beer, and atmosphere. Friendly staff that care more about the experience than splitting pennies. We will definitely be back!

Such a disappointment. Went at 3:45 on Saturday afternoon. Only one waitress who was clearly overwhelmed by the 3 tables she was responsible for. Our food sat in the window for 5 minutes before she brought it out to us, and needless to say it was not hot. She watched the cooks put it in the window and went to take an order!! We ordered burgers, wings and 2 kids meals: our«medium» burgers were well done(at best), both the chips and fries were dark, dark brown(likely overcooked in old grease). The burgers and wings were served almost 5 minutes before the kids meals, so my husband and I weren’t able to enjoy our food, as we were still trying to keep our hungry toddlers at bay. My husband insisits that I mention how good the wings are. I agree, they should’ve been great. But overcooked and dried out is not very appetizing. The floor was so sticky that I almost lost a flip flop walking on it! Also, the waitress overcharged us by $ 1.50 for a kids meal. All in all a very frustrating meal and total waste of $$$.

I know there has been some changes with owners and staff and I come here often. Food is good service is excellent but if the kitchen can’t get my order right what’s the point? Come on guys step your game up!

Food was burnt, Manager(I think she was?) was our server &GREAT. Everything & everyone else was pretty poor to average. They have changed ownership twice since we moved to the neighborhood 7 months ago. The new owners seem to be a couple of older gentleman that only seem to care about their regulars and fellow Ohio fans. Our food came out incredibly burnt. Seriously, the inside of the buns were black. Our server(believe her to be the manager & if she’s not she should be!) could tell just by looking at the plate. The French fries were WAY over cooked also. And in old grease. She told the owner, twice, that my food was bad & she took it back. Never once did either owner stop by our table to say hi, ask how it was, or comment on the fact my food was taken away uneaten. They had no clue we use to be regulars and we’re just waiting for new owners & the return of the full menu for us to come back as regulars. Funny, they had time to chat(at length) with many other guests, walk right by us to welcome other regulars/friends, play with the TV channels & volume and make announcements about sports trivia… Just sad because Michelle is awesome and really cares about the place. The food use to be great and it was a nice corner, close to home bar & grill… Now the food is over-cooked & owners don’t care about anyone other than their little group of friends.

By far the best hot garlic wing’s I have had. The service was great the beer was cold. We had buffalo chips and some mozzarella stick all was great. This is my go to place for wing’s.

This is a hit or miss place, my advice is don’t come here on a slow day. The food is good but sometimes the service sucks. I would still comeback.

Good place to watch a game. Definitely a good Sunday afternoon crowd… Bucs, Cowboys, and Dolphins fans! Great beer deal and decent wings, fries and great tater tots. Chicken fingers, burgers, quesadillas not so great. I would go back for beers, but that’s it. Service was very good and the girls were definitely hustling. I will try a few others before I head back.

My wife, son and I went for the first time on 6⁄12 around 2 pm. The waitress was very friendly. When we sat down to our suprise/delight there was a Cigar City Jai alai beer poster on the wall. We asked the waitress and yes, THEYHAVEJAIALAIONDRAFT!!! We all 3 had the burger and fries and we all thought they were the best burgers we’d had in a long time. Little things like the quality pickles on the burger and having mustard avail at our table made the experience all the better.(it’s annoying going to some of the burger chains and having to tear through a handful of packets).so we will definitely be back. Quality food, friendly atmosphere and Jail alai on draft…5+++++ stars!

Sluggers is the sort of family friendly catch a game with a burger and beer kind of joint that every neighborhood should have. Tucked in to the Corner of Bloomingdale Avenue and John Moore Road, there is easy access and ample parking(even on nights when a Cornhole Tourney takes up spaces). Joining me for the dining experience were my teenage kids who attend Bloomingdale High and Burns Middle Schools. For them, going out on a weeknight for burgers, fries and a soda is quite the treat and Sluggers is a perfect choice. The burgers at Sluggers are of a good half-pound dimension and there is ample toppings and options. The fries and onion rings are quite tasty just the right size. The wings are a pretty standard fair in that I wouldn’t go out of my way to dine on them, but as an appetizer offering they are quite worthy. For variety, I ordered from the Sandwich menu and ended up with half a chicken breast that substituted for the standard burger. It was a little dry but fulfilled what pint-size promise was expected. And speaking of pints, I was delighted to find that the beer selection offered a couple of local options tucked in among the standard big brews. With more than a dozen televisions spread throughout the bar and dining area, pretty much any sporting event you need is available. And if you don’t see the one you want, just ask your server for a channel change. Sluggers may not produce the best burgers and wings I have ever had, but they are certainly far from the worst. The same goes for the sides and drinks. Good, solid, dependable staples with a pleasant atmosphere. This is a good place to bring the family when you just don’t feel like cooking, or need to commune with other locals for the big game, and have a hankering for comfort food on a budget.

This place is a solid neighborhood kind of place. We were going to a movie in Brandon, so I wanted to find a nearby local joint, something like St. Petersburg’s El Cap. The place is spartanly decorated. That’s fine, as long as it’s clean. It is very spacious, so I doubt it would ever be tough to get a table or seat. Service is very casual. I walked in and had a hard time finding anyone to tell me if I could seat myself. The menu is basic, mostly burgers and fried things. I tried the hot and spicy burger, and I asked to have bleu cheese on top. It first showed up without the cheese, and it took about 5 minutes for the waitress to walk by again for me to get her to remedy it. The burger was fine(it might have been better if it had been served correctly first since then it’d still be hot), but nothing to write home about. The fries on the side were crunchy and very salty. The beers on tap were cheap, but as other reviewers noted, you don’t really get the full pint that they list on the menu. It’s more like 12 oz. And, as it is served in a flimsy plastic cup, the beer warms up pretty quickly. Don’t waste your money on the Shock Top, stick to the cheaper Yuengling.
