Good beer! Fun atmosphere. Great on a warm summer night when they have a live band! So fun. However, if you’re looking for a kid-free atmosphere, this isn’t it. As some other Unilocalers have posted, kids are allowed so be prepared to be surrounded by full families. I did wish they had more food trucks outside as well, instead of just one. The majority of the tables are located outside so in the summer it’s great but in the winter it can get super crowded inside on a Friday or Saturday night. They have a tendency to sell out of their beers as well! All things considered, still a fun place to check out on a Friday night or Saturday afternoon.

By far the best of the three CT based breweries we visited. Spacious taproom(it was massive) with plenty of seating. All of the beer I tried was AWESOME also.

really cool place. Had great beer and a fun atmosphere. They also had crowlers which are canned beers like 16 or 24 oz or something that you can take to go. Great concept

Nice, cozy place to hang out with friends, a nice choice of local beers(lot’s of IPA), some games, and the possibility to bring your own food. Great ! The fact of having full families from junior to Grandpa on a Saturday evening was kind of surprise to me but do not limit the interest of the place Good to know: . Possibility to have testing plater with 4 different beers to have an idea of their products before switching to higher gear . Frequent concerts . Some weird events(to me !): Yoga + pint . Nice summer deck

My girlfriend found this brewery while riding in a brews and bikes event with her friends. The brewery has a huge bike rack with tools to fix minor bike issues and free air for your tires. The bar itself is set on a small inlet with a marina behind it, so on a warm day, you’re sure to see people boating or paddleboarding by, or even up to the bar. The back yard has a beautiful deck, and every lawn drinking game you can think of! There is a bocci court, many corn hole boards and life size connect 4. Now on to the beer… they have a huge selection, and we liked all the beers we tried. You can get sampler orders where they put four samples on a cool wooden tray. If beer is not for you, they had some wines there as well. Finally, if you love the beer and want to take it home, they have a sweet gig where you can get a crowler(huge beer can) of whatever beer you like. They fill it and put the lid on right in front of you, and then slap a hand written label with the beer name and ABV on it. They make a great gift. We loved this brewery and the facility was beautiful, and super clean and neat. They don’t serve food In the building, but had food trucks outside. Highly recommend checking this bar out!

Thank you, SC brewmasters!!! You have built an amazing spot that is sure to be a Branford landmark for years to come! We needed this! The outdoor area is awesome. Great for parties too. The beer its self is excellent. Love trying their new seasonals and taking beer home with me. So happy to have this in town.

I’ve come here two times and have had very different experiences. If it’s super crowded, and there aren’t many beers you like, then all you’ve really come for is to be near a creek. I like their layout and communal tables. Since you can bring in your own food, large groups of people really seem to make a day of a visit to this brewery. There are more kids running around or in strollers than you might have guessed, and the overall clientele ranges from mid-20s to 60s. Unfortunately, I did not most of the beer, and on my trip, there were literally no beers I liked.(The vast majority on this August weekend were IPAs.) The bartenders were relatively good at managing the crowds and keeping track of everyone’s orders and tabs. There is lots of parking, including s second spillover lot across the street. There were one or two food trucks in the parking lot, so you are kind of stuck with those options since there isn’t much else around here. Sitting down by the water is nice — if you can get a seat — and it’s good for watching some hardcore corn hole players.

Pleasantly surprised by this brewery. Most of the stars can be attributed to the ambience. Corn hole outside looking over the water? Come on. Sold! We didn’t do a tour we didn’t try and learn anything about the place. We came we drank and played corn hole. Service was awesome. Girls we’re very nice and prompt in refilling my empty calories of goodness :) The beer is good but not mindblowing but the atmosphere makes up for it. If you happen to be in the area and area craving brews with views get here!

Stony Creek Brewery — Branford, CT — 7÷10÷2015 What a great place to go and I’m not even a drinker! They have a beer tour that explains how beer is made and the guide was both informative and entertaining. Although they only serve beers, there is a Pizza restaurant right in the parking lot and there are several menus on the table as you walk in. All of which deliver. We were attending a private event so I have not yet had the opportunity to try some of the take-out options. Outside, there are two large decks where you and a group of friends can have a really great time. They also rent out space for private functions. Great place to go and highly recommended!

Two words: heck no. This place was crawling with drunk college kids yesterday. I was so startled when I walked in and found it packed with everyone who looks like they hang out at the Russian Lady or the Pavilion. I haven’t seen this many crossfit t-shirts, popped collars and boat shoes since I last visited Newport during peak bachelor/bachelorette party season. I’ve visited my fair share of breweries and this crowd was just so vastly different from any other one I’ve been to. I’m so used to being surrounded by fellow beer enthusiasts, not people slamming mugs back and shouting over a corn hole game outside. If this is your scene, my apologies. I don’t mean to sound so judgey. But it simply was not mine and just seemed out of place for a brewery. Unfortunately, the beer was awful, as well. To be fair, we literally just came from Bar in New Haven and Overshores in East Haven and their brews are really great so maybe we were jaded? I had to stick with Stony Creek’s Crum, which was apple cinnamon beer(yuck) because the lager I would have preferred to try was sold out. The only options left were hoppy and I’m not a big hoppy fan. My boyfriend loves hoppy and his reviews were similar to mine, he was not a fan. And the service was awful! I was ignored at the bar for a long, long time and drunk guys kept cutting me(who says chivalry is dead?) I actually gave up and had my boyfriend come in and shove his way to the bar. I had to give this place stars for the location. It is beautiful. The building is brand new and modern and sits in a marina. The patios are big and overlook the dock and the water. You can bring your own food or grab some from the food trucks in the lot. Notwithstanding the college crowd, I did see a number of families at the brewery with their picnics, which is always nice to see. Still though, overall, not my scene.
