We came during the last week of March on a Sunday. There was no wait. The service and food was good. The Nachos on the appetizer menu is enough to feed ¾ adults. After that the old fashioned burger that came just looked average. But although it was normal looking with an average portion of fries the meat seemed fresh and not a frozen patty. All in all it was ok. But $ 7+ for a margarita seemed a little steep, it was a $ 5 margarita in my opinion.

Waiting on food to come. It is dec 26th and it seems the waitress doesn’t want to be here. Appears surly. I’ll update after the food arrived… service improved. Ribs arrived. They were from previous day. Smoky taste but had an aftertaste like chemical smoke. Beans were old too. Texas toast was great. Meat on ribs was a bit mushy. It would be better to come on a different day. But we probably won’t be giving the place a second chance. We’ve had bbq all over the country. One last observation. The French fries were hot and great.

You never know what you’re going to get when you stop in a random restaurant in a touristy area. We were very pleasantly surprised! The inside is kind of cheesy but adds to the charm. The server was very friendly and quick. The food was great! I had the ribeye which was a little more fatty than I like but still had very good flavor. I should have went with my gut instinct and ordered the ribs. I tried some of my friends and they were very good, smoked to perfection, fall off the bone. I did have to add a little BBQ sauce though. I’m glad we stopped by Doc’s!

I was a little worried when we were coming here. My in-laws love this place but the reviews worried me. You know what this was so good. Service was great! Food was awesome! We all loved our meals. Thank you all for treating us right.

Ssssssslow, mediocre food with an occasional hair in your beans. This place is definitely geared to tourists. Advice: go to Danna’s– better, faster, cheaper!

Amazingly good food! Love the tender brisket, the pulled pork, and the fries. Haven’t tried the ribs yet but definitely will. Fun, relaxed atmosphere with live blues in the afternoon and country music in the evenings. Great barbecue sauce! Awesome service!

What a fun surprise! Tons of really good bbq food, friendly staff plus really nice live blues music throughout lunch even though early in the day with only a few of us in the audience! Thinking we’ll be back just to hang and have a few brews and snacks in the evening… feels pretty rocking even on an early Sunday afternoon, can’t imagine what fun with friends on a Saturday night!

My wife and I showed up on valentines day for a nice dinner, we got nothing. Told by hostess a 30 min wait to be seated which was fine. 45 min later they still had not seated us and the lobby was filling by the moment. I decided to look around and they had more than enough empty tables to sit all standing for long waits. It was completely ridiculous. Then to top it off the hostess seated a table for 2 that came in 20 minutes after us. During our 45 min wait we observed 3 other parties walk out, and in the picture window to the kitchen plates of food sitting there for 10 to 15 min and servers stop and look at the plates then walk off without serving them. In my opinion I don’t know how those folks keep the doors open with a pitifull service that they seemed like it was how to do it. On top of that there was no management to be found. In summary. WOW!!!

We had the smoked turkey and pulled pork. It was mediocre and extremely dry. The fries and fried okra was very good. Tammy was our waitress and she was outstanding. She kept the glasses full and was very attentive.

We were kind of hesitant to go here based on reviews on Unilocal.Grateful that we did. The bad reviews I read said it had an empty parking lot, bad service and dry meat. We went on Labor Day, a Monday, which would usually be a day they weren’t open. So the parking lot was empty which added to our hesitation. The service was very good. The fried pickles were the best I have ever had; they hand dip each pickle slice. I got the heart stopper and while I didn’t even try to make the challenge(win a shirt and your name on the wall for eating it all in 30 min) it was still an amazing meal. Highly, highly recommended.

FOOD! Let me do that one more time. FOOD! If you love big hunks of meat, sauce in every direction, fried food and greasy fingers… read on. If your stomach is churning, turn away now. We came here based on the reviews and got what we wanted… plus more. At 3pm, they were quiet and service was decent. We had a booth next to the window and bathrooms were quick and easy and clean. They have a special deal that you can split an entrée of meat and add in two more sides and texas toast for $ 3 – 4, so we did that. The brisket was ok, but add the sauce on(and make it thick) since it is a little dry. The sides were plentiful, although nothing stood out as fantastic. The fried pickles were great and the sauce that came with them was complimentary. Give it a shot if you are in town looking for some BBQ.

If you love BBQ then this is the place to be! Love their Brisket Platter and their own BBQ sauce ties it’s all together. :) Desserts are delicious! The Oreo or Red Velvet cheesecake?! Can never go wrong there! Come on down to Doc’s and you won’t be disappointed! Wait staff is a delight and you’ll be treated like family!

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. We chose this restaurant because we had a 50% off appetizer coupon. We had the onion petals and they were served with a smokey dipping sauce that was delicious. For my entrée, I ordered the smoked brisket with two sides: baked beans and fried corn on the cob. The brisket was a nice portion, but very tough. I had to use a knife and I shouldn’t have to do that with brisket. However, it had a nice smoke flavor and the BBQ sauce was great! The baked beans were good and the fried corn on the cob was awesome! Salty crispy batter all the way around a cob of sweet corn! My plate cost $ 12.99 and for the kids, they had a few menu items prices under $ 8.00.

Finally a great BBQ joint in SWMO! Ribs fall off the Bone goodness. Fried battered corn on the cob WOW what a great side! Moist great flavor brisket. I couldn’t get enough of it. Deep fried pickles with a great crunch. Service was awesome never an empty cup. Don’t miss this hidden Gem. Thanks Doc!
