Been here several times for breakfast. The food is always good and fresh. Service is very good and the staff is very friendly. The dining room is clean and inviting.

Mediocre food made with some local ingredients, great coffee(not sure where the beans come from but yum!), inexplicably TERRIBLE service. And I’m anything but a hard-liner! Maybe this place just needs some time to get up and running. Maybe some staff imbued with basic common sense regarding customer service and cleanliness. Who clean their fingernails. Tried it 4 times. Obviously, I liked it alright(it’s hard to find a decent breakfast around here so I had high hopes) but always required patience with friendly staff that didn’t seem to know the first thing about any of the standard items on the menu. Not to mention some glaring hygiene issues to be overlooked. I was short on patience the last time I ate at the Restless Rooster after my friends and I had quite a long list of unusual service issues. For example: cold food, incorrect orders several times improperly remediated, forgotten sides and silverware, fake maple syrup passed off as real… after waiting quite some time for silverware, with cold food getting colder, the cutlery was dirty and napkins were wet with coffee; un-noticed/unreplaced. Our teenaged waitress carelessly dropped a spoon in a cup of coffee on the table thereby splashing all three of us with tepid coffee and walked away WITHOUTEVENNOTICING). I am not a stickler for ‘perfect’ service’(if I was, I would never have come back after the first time I went when the very kindly and affable waiter answered«I don’t know» to every single question I had about the menu). But this was an especially amazing experience. I made the mistake of calmly mentioning my valid issues to the server(whom I tipped 15% instead of my usual 20−25%) and writing a friendly — though critical — PRIVATE message to the owner. Although the waitress apologized and the owner responded politely enough, the owner and staff have since loudly and publicly expressed dismissive and disparaging commentary regarding myself and my issues. Such bad form people! You’re supposed to KEEP your customers. Not drive them away. ANDYOUHADME, along with all my friends and colleagues in tow. Until now. Obviously I won’t spend my all too rare dining-out dollars there anymore.

Had pancakes with real Vermont maple syrup. Pancakes were large. Hash browns on the side tasted good. Server was warm and talked with us about Brattleboro. Prices are reasonable. Had a clean restroom. Restaurant is open until 2PM.

Clean, good service, wheelchair accessible, and the food was good to top it all. I wouldn’t say that my party is the most low maintenance, so it was great that everyone was happy here. The breakfast is your average fare; omelettes, pancakes, eggs. Try the buttermilk pancakes with homemade applesauce on the specials menu. That is what prompted my review. The applesauce/compôt on the pancakes was homemade with some seriously good flavor, and the pancakes themselves were light and fluffy. A nice place to wait for the delayed train.

It looked like a really nice place and the menu was interesting but we never got to try it out. We walked in grabbed a few menus found a table and waited, they were serving tables all around us but never came to our table. Maybe it’s because we weren’t college students. After 20 minutes we walked out.

They’re doing a great job here! Grouped together my table tried an omelette, the hash browns, eggs, chocolate chip pancakes, a biscuit, Vermont sausage, and the grits! Everything was delicious, but the grits were a miss. The coffee was great, service amazing, attentive, and I enjoyed every minute of my brunch. Nice décor too! Definitely worth a visit.

Was lucky enough to stumble into this place during a recent visit to Vermont. It was clean & had a nice vibe. I had standard breakfast fare; eggs, toast, bacon, etc. and it was all really good. The blueberry muffin was packed with berries & had a great texture; the top had the slightest«crunch» to it, as if it was just out of the oven. I’m not a fan of coffee shop syrups, so the soy latte with real maple syrup was a nice surprise; no fake flavoring there! I took a slice of the cheesecake to go and it was also great; not too rich or heavy. Looking forward to going back some time!

Wait staff is awesome attentive, nice and polite. Don’t care for their bacon but the rest of the food was fantastic, I’ve been here a few times and the wait staff gives it a 5 even with the 2 star bacon and you need to try the pumpkin muffins
