good food but the service leaves a lot to be desired. specially knowing that the bartender/owner(Vanice) the Asian lady(using the term loosely) owner, who met a man on the job and had a daughter after cheating on the husband, that hard working Chef/Owner, poor Jerry. after you know the story it gets a bit uncomfortable there, there are also rumors they are running an illegal sweat shop with illegal Asian immigrants working in the kitchen over 14 hours a day, Chin and Linda(her American name) who don’t even speak English to defend themselves.

This is a great family place to eat. The owners have a daughter in my daughter’s class and they are a great family! Always kind and very hard working. We love the food. Great prices and one of the best local eateries! The pizza is the bomb and the fettuccine Alfredo is also great.

Good service but food was overpriced and under heated. Seriously ‚$ 9 for a small. plate of under sauced noodles which dont even come with a salad. The veal dish was good but not as hot as it should have been.

I have been stopping at this restaurant for many years on my trips back from Glamis. It has a new name now and the worst Italian food I have ever tasted. Frozen entrees and terrible customer service. Took forever to bring our drinks and food. The waitress seemed to be overwhelmed and she never refilled our drinks. The manager should be walking around asking if people like the food. Get it together!

I wanted an Italian dressing for my salad and they said they don’t have any… Ordered the minestrone soup and it was broth with little pieces of carrots and O noodles. No vegetables. The garlic bread was burnt to a crisp. Never asked if we wanted refills. The waitress had an attitude. They gave us a pencil to sign the bill so we asked for a pen. Overall horrible experience. I would give them no stars if I could.

Went for Sunday lunch and was astounded how poor the service and food was at this establishment. There obviously was a problem with the staffing while two staff were relatively idle while a busboy and waitress did all the work, while the owner watched unconcerned. We did not get a refill on our water nor did anyone check on us other than to take our order. The food was bland and in the case of the eggplant parmigiana, inedible. Shame for Brawley to have to put up with such a mediocre restaurant and worse still for unsuspecting visitors.

Great place to come for dinner. Great Italian entrees. It’s nice to be able to choose sizes of your entrée(small or regular) and the side as well(pasta or vegetables). Great steaks are served here as well. Friendly service and a nice quiet atmosphere.

I was excited to go to this restaurant because I’ve stayed in this hotel many times before. I come to find out they’ve changed it to an Italian place which is fine because I like Italian food. I walk in the restaurant and find the manager yelling at her worker. She was yelling at her for not handling the customers bill the right way. I was so turned off by the way she was treating her worker. The worker was clearly shaken up and should not have been treated that way. I wanted to leave but there was nowhere else to eat so I was forced to order. The food was sub par but I was also bothered that when I asked for extra ranch and also told I was willing to pay for it she looked at me funny the manager and almost threw it in my bag. I will not come back to this restaurant due to the manager she was very rude.

Great service, great food! Never disappointed with the Chicken Assaggio dish. Veal Marsala is the very best here. Their bread is so delicious served warm mini-loaf style. Small venue so it was very loud.

Pretty cool atmosphere, and an old school bar. The opening basket of Warm bread is awesome. The chicken Marsala is my favorite there. Also, if you like sushi, this is the place!

Small town feel for a «hole in the wall» restaurant. It doesn’t look like much on the outside, but there is a warm welcome for you on the inside. Very friendly staff will serve you. The menu has good build your own pasta(choose a noodle and a sauce), good soups(minestrone, pasta fagioli), nice little side salads, and all the expected Italian staples(e.g. veal parm, Fettuccine Alfredo, lasagna, cheese ravioli). They also have great looking steaks(rib-eye, filets) that come with fresh veggies(broccoli and carrots and baked potato) — my friend had the ribeye and it was huge, and he loved it. Next time I would try that. My other friend ordered the lasagna, and didn’t love it as it was too oniony for their taste. If near the area, it is worth a visit.

My favorite restaurant in Brawley! The hot antipasti is amazing as well as the salad. My favorite main dish is the chicken assaggio however all their food is great! If you are lucky enough to be there when they are serving sushi you are in for a real treat! They have both amazing rolls and sashimi! I would highly recommend this place for any lunch or dinner meal!

looks a lot better inside than it does outside, exterior is not particularly inviting. fairly nice place inside, food is reasonably good for a small town Italian restaurant, service was fine. there is a bar inside also.

Seated quickly, 20 minutes to get a warm beer, 45 minutes after seated waitress says she forgot to put the appetizer order in and would give us a free tiramisu. After an hour dinner arrived my was burnt my wife received the wrong order, but my son’s was good. Our waitress never checked in on this again. My daughter ordered the tiramisu. When the bill arrived we were charged for the free tiramisu. The place was loud, dingy and run down. Worse service I have experienced in years.

We were booked into Assaggio to dine with 25+ others as part of a large group outing. When we got to the restaurant, they had indeed set up two long tables for our group. But that appears to have been the extent of their preparations. Two overworked, nice young women were trying to wait on all the other customers. And as it turned out, they were going to be expected to wait on our entire group as well. We ended up waiting for 45-odd minutes for a beer and a basket of bread. That was after the waitress’s response to «What draft beers do you have?» was, «None!» And after we asked what bottled beers she offered, she said, «What kind are you lookin’ for?» Oh yeah … we also had to ask for a glass to go with the bottled beer. Classy! We eventually decided that things could only get better for the rest of our group if we cleared out and lightened the load for this poor, inept staff. No idea how the dinners turned out. The bread was pretty good — even if they don’t seem to realize that many health-conscious diners nowadays prefer olive oil to butter.

What a surprise! Off the beaten path and non-descript exterior. Just when we thought we were going to eat fast food, Unilocal led us here. Everyone in our party of 8 ended the evening with empty plates, a full stomach and good things to say about every dish. The bread was amazing!

Service was lousy and it took forever just to get our drink order. From the time we walked in to the time we decided to walk out an hour had passed. Our server never did come by to tell us why our order had been delayed. Funny thing is that when we decided to leave our order was being served. We paid for our drinks and salad then left. I may try it again but not in the near future.

The hot antipasti appetizer is 5 stars! Next time we go i will order it for dinner. The meal(calamari parm) was less then exciting! The sauce had no flavor, the calamari steak was fresh out of the freezer! We will go back and give them another try, not anytime soon though. The service started out great but it didn’t last very long. Next thing we knew our waitress was sitting at the bar having drink! The waitress that we ended up with was very friendly and helpful. She was just a little over whelmed.

My family absolutely loves this place. Everytime it gets mentioned to anyone that has ever been there they all go «Mmmmmm…» The staff is really nice I can’t think of a time that they were assholes. They are always making sure you are fine, but not in an annoying way. It’s not the best decorated restaurant but it’s fine the staff and food make up for lack of décor. The food is s heavenly. I have been to many italian restaurants but this place really hits the love spot. Their salad is delicious, the dressing is kind of sour/sweet but the ingredients they add to it makes it taste so delightful. Any dish you have from there is amazing I can’t think of one thing I have had from there that I would never order again. They do have a full service bar and it is sectioned off so you can have a nice dinner then walk a couple feet to the other side of the place and get wasted. The bratenders are ok and make some pretty harsh drinks.
