Went to my first all male salon today! This place is a must go! Have Alisha cut your hair. By far the best place I have ever gone to. I have tried a number of places from salons to barbers! 18⁄8 exceeds all your expectations from a great style with a barber feel. Ask for Alisha!!!

Alisha is amazing and super professional! She asked us for what kind of haircut we are looking for and walked us through the process. She knows her stuff! We love her!

I emailed the corporate office about my experience but never heard back. My experience was great but I was placed at a seat immediately adjacent to the break /supply room. As staff would go in and out every couple of minutes the door would slam loudly and a bright fluorescent flight would flood my field of vision. Staff in the break room would be chatting, eating, etc like any other break room. I was truly unable to relax the entire time. Over the course of the 45 minutes that I was there this probably happened 30 times… It’s a busy room/area. I am more so disappointed in the corporate office for not taking the time to respond to my email about this issue. I would gladly return but certainly not if I was to be placed next to this break room again. Owner contact me and invited me back. Was very happy to see some of the issues remediated. Awesome cut.

First time. They really take care of their clients! Do make an appointment online ahead of time. My stylist Emily was great! She was also very helpful with her explanation of how I could restyle my hair tomorrow just as she did today.

It was my first time at THIS18⁄8 in brea on Saturday. I had previously been to the one in Anaheim hills and had a much better experience. I had Lisa as my stylist this last time in brea. She was friendly and all but didn’t exactly take in what I said and I had a feel from the start she wasn’t familiar with the type of cut I was after. I showed her a picture of my hair the last time I got it cut and told her I needed a touch up. She definetly wasn’t skilled enough for the out there style I went in to get which is not a big deal just went in thinking the establishment was a bit more stylish than a barber but came out with barber results :( She also put some product in my hair before blow drying and it feels damaged now. Which makes me think she didn’t know what product she was even using on my hair! It definetly didn’t have a heat protectant. Poop.

**TIP** Make sure you set an appointment. Although it says on Unilocal it’s not by appointment only, I suggest you call in advance and schedule a time, otherwise you will be waiting hours before someone can see you. Very misleading. I left and got my cut elsewhere.

Edit: I have since been contacted by the owner/manager of the salon who was very understanding and apologized for the experience that I had. I will say it sounds like it was a misunderstanding between my expectations of my haircut and who was assigned to cut my hair. I appreciate being contacted by the manager and her offer to make things right. When I decide to take up that offer I will post a follow up review. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – I went to 18⁄8 because my sister’s boyfriend went and he said it was awesome and he got his hair cut for $ 13. Apparently he has a sick sense of humor. When I arrived I was asked at the desk what cut I wanted. I told her a mid razor fade. The girl at the front was nice and said she could schedule me to get cut in an hour so I went and had lunch then came back. I was greeted by a nice girl and I told her also what I wanted, mid razor fade. She asked me to point out on my head where I wanted my hair faded up to. I pointed to the middle of head. She used clippers for about 10 minutes and pulls out a mirror for me to check out her stellar work I asked about getting the razor done and she said, «Oh I’m not a barber.» Awesome, thank you for telling me now that you can’t give me the haircut that I asked for. She said she could use a safety razor to try and shave it a little more. She takes one out and shaves the lower portion of the back of my head but not the sides. I asked if she can blend the obvious line that is around my head where she shaved halfway up with a zero guard and she fumbles around to poorly blend it for three more minutes. When she’s done again she pulled the mirror out and says the lighting in there is bad and that it looks better than what I can see in the mirror. I accept defeat and go to the counter where I’m told that my total is $ 27 for a cut that I want to shave off when I get home. I will never return here and will go back to any of the three other local barber shops that are in the area and get my hair cut for less including tip and have a cut that doesn’t make me want to put back on the hat that I came in with when I leave.

I had my hairdresser for almost 10 years and I was worry about having a new one. I have a particular style and David did a great job… even better than my original hairdresser. He is detail oriented(I am detail oriented too) and he did an awesome job. I highly recommend this place. Its a bit pricey but in life you always get what you paid right? it was well worth it!

I won’t go anywhere else. Great facility. No girly magazines. Coffee and sports t.v. Elishia was fantastic! She really did a great job. Took some extra time to get it just right, but she was a real pro. That hot towel on the face was amazing. Who needs a massage when you can just get your hair cut at 18⁄8.

What an amazing experience! We arrived and first of all… the place has this wonderful smell to it. It’s clean, people are friendly, there’s awesome music playing. My Fiancé saw Elishia for his haircut and she did a rocking job! She was very meticulous and thorough with his hair. We were definitely thrilled with the cut she gave him and how great of a job she did! We will certainly be back in the future! You have some very happy customers over here!

We brought our 12 year old for a haircut. We normally go to Sport clips but the wait times are ridiculous. We live right down the street so it’s super convenient. Our sons stylist was Brittany and she was awesome! She did a great job on his hair and managed to sit through our family life story as she cut his hair. When my son was asked if he wanted to go back to Sport clips or back here, he said back to 18⁄8. :) Being able to make an appointment is icing on the cake. No wait time. A little more price wise but totally worth it.

WORST haircut I’ve ever received. Erik can’t understand simple instructions. I specifically said«I like the length ONTOP» mind u I had a ponytail. I can now spike my hair. Thanks Erik! NOT! I wouldn’t have been this upset if he hadn’t tried to sell me on the shitty haircut, or just followed my instructions. Measure twice cut once dumbass.

18⁄8 is simply a great place for any male haircut. This was my first visit to 18⁄8. My 15 yr old son and I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon without an appointment looking to create a style(first in his life) to his average unruly hair. The receptionist made us a quick appointment and 30 mins later we were greeted by Eric, a well dressed, groomed welcoming guy. I let Eric know my shy son wanted to brush his wavy hair to the side and to keep the sides short. I let him have full range to work his magic, because I thought that’s what he will need to create something for my son… I relaxed in the cozy lobby sipping on a complimentary drink and watched some baseball on TV. Aside from being crazy clean, this place somehow makes you feel relaxed… The true glory of this place was shown when my son came out with a grin from ear to ear with a style to rival Ronaldo’s haircut(my son loves soccer)! Eric made such an impression with him that my son actually was inspired to buy a hair wax to keep up the look. I can’t say enough about Eric and 18⁄8.

After 2 long years of searching for the right place to get my hair cut in the LA area, I have finally found it. Very cool spot, extremely talented and friendly staff. If you care about your hair and your overall appearance, then definitely check these guys out. If you know exactly what you want, perfect, they’ll do it. If you have no clue what you want, they’ll hook you up. No stress. They do more than hair too. So if your significant other is grinding your gears about your nose hairs, or wants you to cut back your man of a beard…18/8’s got you covered, no problem. They’re a little pricier when you compare it to a Floyd’s, but you get so much more. Plus they spend time with you and your hair. Not just your«get in, get out» type of barbershop. Very happy with my stylist, Brittany. I highly recommend her. Very friendly, talented and never makes me feel rushed.

I was skeptical at first about spending this much on a men’s haircut, but after my experience I can say I will definitely be a repeat customer. Brittany did a fantastic job and I truly feel like I got the best haircut I’ve ever had. Worth the price without a doubt.

First time customer at 18⁄8 and was very pleased. Customer service starting with the receptionist was spot on. Samantha cut my old gray hair which is an issue of its own and did the nicest cut I have had in years. I’ve bounced from«drama salon» to the neighborhood«chop-shop» barber over the years and this is the first place I’ve actually felt relaxed being there. Atmosphere was professional, clean, friendly, and relaxing without the«drama». Samantha took a lot of time finding out what I needed in a cut and listened to what I had to say and wanted done. Need to see how the cut grows out but I have a feeling I will be returning. Many thanks 18⁄8.

I was traveling last week and forgot my razor. I have only had a professional shave a couple times, and thought I would treat myself. The hotel mentioned there was a new place they heard was good, so I tried this out. First let me say everyone there was awesome. I felt very comfortable around a bunch of happy people. My barber was great. I was treated to a beverage when I got there and put into a robe. Not used to swapping my shirt for a robe, but it was cool. The shave was great. Barber took their time and I almost fell asleep. I wish I lived in the area as I would do it again some day. Don’t remember the barbers name or I would call them out here. I can’t comment on the haircuts as I have a clean head and have nothing to cut.

My check in didn’t take for some reason, but I was here! This isn’t your average salon, nor barber. First, they have beer. Complimentary! It was hot outside so I stuck with water. Next, the chair is AMAZING! Want to feel like Captain Kirk? This is your chair!(In fact, they told me that’s it’s actually called the captain’s chair). But you come here for a haircut which is what you get, plus a lot more. Massage, hot towel wrap, did I mention beer? The chairs are in their own little space, separated from each other. No listening to the people gossip next to you. It’s all about you. As it should be. The stylists here definitely know what they are doing. David J. looked at my hair and could see how they cut it last time and suggested a couple different ways to improve it and make the cut last longer. Came out beautiful. They give you a card to come back in a couple weeks if you need a touch up on the edges and collar. Are they cheap? No. But if you get a haircut that lasts a while, and the free«express cut», it probably adds up to about the same. So check this place out! You’ll be glad you did.
