Things Remembered

Customer service has been excellent! I was in need of buying some special gifts for a group of ladies and after a few visits to the store trying to make up my mind the results have been fantastic. I was ordering some wood serving trays and they made sure all the wood grains were perfect before engraving and even sent me pictures of how the engraving would look before doing them. Laurie and the entire staff have been over the top with service. Such a joy! I will definitely be back in the future!!!

I bought a gift in remembrance of my nephew’s initiation into the Mortar Board Society. After ordering it, about 5 hours later I realized I made a mistake. They had already engraved it, but they said they would take care of my mistake.
The gift was a hit. My nephew has thanked me over and over, and I thank Brea Mall’s Things Remembered. GREAT JOB.

So I have been messing around on Unilocal and was reading through previous reviews that I have posted and I ran across this one. So its time to update!
6 months later and one of the items I purchased is broken. It was a nice thick mens bracelet that I actually received a few compliments on. however like my first post said, «when it says „made in China“ it usually means cheap.» and guess what this was a cheap piece of jewelry that a retail mall store can mark up in price and charge three bucks a word. Im not very happy.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted right away. We knew exactly what we were looking for and were pointed in the right direction immediately. Everyone was so nice and helpful and the item we got engraved was ready within 45 min, on a Friday afternoon too. A very positive experience, we will definitely use again.

Got my cake cutter/​champagne flutes set here for my wedding, had an average experience. At check out the lady asked if I wanted to join their membership for $ 10, I thought I’d come back in the future and they did say that they will offer me some coupons in the email that are worth at least $ 10 along with other perks.
A month later I came back for a birthday present for my dad, told them that I’ve never received the emails with coupons (I have been keeping an eye on my junk mail too). She did not apologize, and just said that there’s nothing that they can do. I asked her to double check my email address, and it was correct! So if I have been actively checking those emails and my junk folder, why haven’t I receive them? She said she could ask her manager if she can get me a $ 5 discount on my current purchase, she went in the back room, and literally 5 seconds later she came back out and said the manager said no. I highly doubt that she had sufficient time to explain to her the whole situation and that she went in just for show. The manager never came out and see me either. No apologies.
I would have felt better if I didn’t pay $ 10 for the membership, heck, it’s not even about the few bucks I was going to save anymore, it’s their indifferent attitude and their terrible way of handling customer issues!
On another note, their products are in poor quality for their price, packaging looks cheap and on the flutes you can see the hot glue at the bottom of the glass (and some overflowing out. If you are going to shop for products that are cheaply made in China (not being stereotypical here, I am Chinese and I know there are great products made in China too), you might as well shop online for much, much cheaper prices.
To end this, I am NEVER coming back to this store again and I do not recommend signing up for their membership, it’s really not that great. You save more by getting free memberships at other stores. I am writing this review in hopes of minimizing future victims

Brought my Niece here to get a gift for her Mother’s birthday. I was impressed with their selection of items and the variety of items they have. It’s nice that they have items which are into the hundreds but also items which even a teenager can afford.
Just about everything in the store is able to be engraved and I think that’s where they make a lot of their money. The different types of fonts and graphics they have available was impressive, just be careful not to select a ‘premium’ font which will make the cost rise quickly. Bonus that they were able to engrave the item my Niece selected in less than an hour on a Friday night; it was nice not having to make a return trip to the mall with a teen! LOL
Staff is very friendly and were able to answer questions quickly. All-​in-​all a great experience!

I walk in the store… didn’t get greeted til I had to stare a lady down. eh I didn’t let that bother me because I heard many good things about this store. Essentially came in to order a ring with engraving on it. The lady told me that rings are online order only, but free shipping. Cool sounded great already! They have tablets in the store for you to setup and see what the outcome would look like. So she tried getting it started, but I actually had to suggest her what to do on it because she seemed lost. Anyways ordered the ring and it also came with a free jewelry box, cool. I wrote what I wanted for the engraving on they’re receipt, done deal. Two weeks later, I receive the ring. the quality was not as nice and pretty as it was seen online. AND the engraving was WRONG. I was LIVID because it was a valentines day gift! I called and spoke to Nicole the assistant manager, and explained the situation. did she apologize… NO. She just said «Let me call home office and see what I can do.» So she said I was able to bring it back and get a full refund, then asked me If I wanted the free jewelry box, I thought she was going to compensate me it for the mistake. NO $ 10 if I wanted to keep it, no thanks. So I went into the store to get my refund, explained what had happened to another lady that was ringing me up, did she apologize for what had happened? NO, just an «OH, do you have your card?» Really. Did not get one apology from this place. This store is called Things Remembered and this is not something I want to remember. Never going to shop here again, sorry, na not really, no sorry like they did me.
