This is kind of a different review because I have been here 3 different times. Each time I would rate it different. But, over all in the end I would say I love this place. My first trip was a girls trip. We booked on Expedia. When we finally arrived at the lodge it was 2am. Pitch black outside the mountain didn’t lack the ambiance of a horror movie. After driving around in circles forever we finally found the check in door. It was closed! There was a sign saying to check in down the street at the lodges sister hotel. We went to One ski Hill to check in. I was begging and flirting the best I could to ask them to just find us a room there. We didn’t want to drive back up the mountain in the dark not knowing where or what we were doing. While my skills didn’t land us a room it did get us an escort to the hotel. We followed him as he showed us how to get to The underground parking lot. All the while I was thinking, how the hell would I know this wout him? You needed to use your room key to get into the lot. We tipped him a hefty tip and we went off to out room. The room was beautiful. I mean perfect. Clean. New. Everything you could ask for. The next day I called the front desk to complain. She rudely told me that the hotel clearly states in the fine print that it’s not a full service hotel aka the lobby is not open 24. Really bc everyone reads the fine print. We changed and was ready to hit the slopes. Not knowing where to go we went to the Lobby to ask where to go. She told us to walk right outside and take the gondola. We did. And we took the gondola… right DOWN the mountain! Turns out if u walk out the front door the gondola takes you down the mountain. Yup. I think the first time i stayed here I would have given it 1 star if that. I guess I’m a sucker for second chances and bc of its perfect location I decided to come back. This time I knew my way around especially taking the gondola going UP. However, this time I rented the condo from VisitBrecK so the condo was separate from the hotel. Still in the same building but This meant no asking for towels or maid service. Basically, your on your own. I learned something new yet again. Since I was with my family. I cook and I cook a lot. The kitchen was very basic. One set of pans isn’t enough for me. Most homes we have rented have condiments like salt/sugar/spices anything non perishable left over from other renters but not this home. Everything is cleared out. I felt it was wasteful bc we had to throw out our left over spices. We were also disappointed bc the lodge claims to be ski in/out. But since it was still the beginning of the season the chairlift wasn’t open. Paying a ton for ski in/out and not getting it kinda sucks…3 stars. 3rd charm must be a charm. Bc here I am again. I rented the same condo again. This time I brought my own extra pans. We stayed during a time that the chairlift was open. And we could ski right home for lunch. Not sure why but my family needs tons of towels. Maybe bc boys never hang there’s up? But Here’s a tip. If you need more towels just go to the hot tub. There plenty there and we just changed them out every day. All together now that I know hopefully everything there is to know about the Crystal Peak Lodge I really love it In a nutshell. 1. The location cannot be beat. Except early and late in the year it is not truely ski in/out 2. There is not 24 lobby. It can be scary and confusing at night. 3. When you are renting a condo don’t expect the hotel to service you. They are 2 completely separate businesses in the same building. 4. This has to be one of the nicest and cleanest places and I travel a lot and super picky. Literally every nook and cranny is pristine.
