Went here for dinner while in town. The menu was what really got us to choose Twist over other restaurants nearby. They have a nice variety of choices, and they have a bit of a twist to them. I had the shrimp tacos as an appetizer. They were great. I probably could have just ate 3 orders of those. But, I also tried the Panang Curry Poached Pacific Cod and a salmon item(I forget what it was called and it’s no longer on the menu). Both were good, but I really preferred the cod. The curry made it stand out. I tried a couple of drinks — one was a mint/lime flavored drink, which was quite refreshing. The other was described as a tequila«Old Fashioned» and basically tasted like a glass of tequila to me. Service was very good. I’d recommend trying this place out if you’re in town.

Sister restaurant to Relish(which we feel is a better restaurant), but a very good vibe, great food and good cocktails too… We would definitely come back and would certainly recommend! Enjoy…

If you want a table get a reservation, if not sit at the bar. The drinks are spot on and the food is well presented and just plain yummy. The service is dead on and you NEVER have to ask even at the bar… ok if its busy but they get right on it. After Surgery, Im now on a special diet — gluten free is the biggest part — they will make accommodation for you and have a menu listed so you don’t have to ask and get a «oh your on the Paleo thing». Park down the street and walk, after you eat you’ll be happy you did.

Super cute restaurant in a home setting. Happy hour from 4−6pm and I would say it’s the best in breck. Customer service is top notch here as well. From the hostess, bartenders, wait staff… I give everyone 5 stars. Food is fabulous. I would recommend ordering everything on the happy hour menu, grabbing a few cocktails of the day then don’t forget to order dessert too.

My husband and two kiddos decided to give Twist a try. We started with the iceberg lettuce salad, it was flavorful but I never tasted the pears it supposedly had in it. My kids tried the Caeser and they could not eat it, having said this they love Caeser salad and have eaten it since they were 3 years old. I tried it & it was very unusual I could have eaten it, but was not a fan either. Next I ordered the short ribs, they were tasty. My husbands salmon was charred, I would have sent it back. I can’t believe they sent it out like that! My daughters chicken was overcooked and dry but edible. My sons salmon off the kids menu was better than my husbands. Crème brûlée was awesome! Chocolate cake was good, as was gelato. Service was slow, but in his defense he had a lot of tables.

Food was ok, but not great especially for the price. Service was pretty terrible. There are better places to eat in this town. Too bad as we had heard good things. Just didn’t really deliver on any level.

Delicious food! Good service, they sat us quickly, didn’t rush us out, and gave us the check separated for 3 couples. I had the Blood Orange Drop, Pork Chops which I changed the side to their mashed potatoes, with a nice Pinot Noir. Pricey though, so I can’t go back until next year, and that means 4 stars for me.

I rarely give bad reviews. But man, I was disappointed by this place. First off, we got the recommendation from a local… and since we had been to the sister restaurant, Relish and loved it, we figured we would also love Twist. Not so much. First off, the host acted like he was in a frenzy when we got there. There was no one else waiting besides us and we had a reservation. So why he was acting ‘too busy to be kind’ definitely made me feel a bit off at first. I’ve also worked in restaurants and even as a hostess back in the day, so I guess to me… first impressions and courtesy go a long way. Anyway, the tall slender man eventually gave us attention and sat us but he was less than friendly and didn’t really make us feel welcomed. It was more like he was put off by having to do his job. Anyway, he sat us upstairs in the very back. I’d be ok with this… if it wasn’t for all the other open tables that looked out the restaurant’s windows. But, I still wasn’t going to let it ruin my evening. Then came the server, she was ok… not truly knowledgeable on the food but, I figured she was a ski bunny and a seasonal worker who probably came up to work and ski, so let her off the hook. We ordered the cheese plate, the meatloaf sliders, the drunken noodles with chicken and the bratwurst/mashed potatoes entrée. The meatloaf sliders were pretty decent, the actual meatloaf was great. I took it off the semi stale bread and ate it alone. The cheese platter was alright as well. It wasn’t so much cheese as it was other items like homemade pickles(good) and some jam and some cheese, bread cracker thing. It was decent but not something I’d order again. My husband’s brat and mashed potatoes and sauce was very good. My drunken noodles were terrible. They were overcooked and so was the chicken. I choked down a few bites and stole bites from my husband’s plate. We also ordered dessert. I had the flourless chocolate cake and my husband had the crème burlee… the flour less cake was… flavorless and dry. Like they’d had an old piece from a few days back… and heated it. It was disappointing. Overall the food… was lackluster. I’m from Austin where I’m use to great food and this just missed the mark. But, where I may give the food 2.5 stars to 3… the actual restaurant building and atmosphere was so bad. The table they stuck us in the back, was next to a table of 10 super drunk middle age yuppies who were yelling and talking over on another. They had been drinking at the bar downstairs and sat them next to us about 5 minutes after they sat us. We were a table of two on a date, which was pretty obvious. And we couldn’t hear one another talk. It was so loud that I had to stick my fingers in my ears a few times. I get that it’s a small older home, but they could of let bigger parties sit in the back and maybe let smaller tables sit in the front? It was so unnecessarily loud. And the servers kept bumping into our table. They probably knocked into our table 4 or 5 times. We looked to move but our server disappeared and our food was served to us by another waiter. So we stuck it out and left. Yes, we did do dessert but that’s mainly bc my entrée was so bad I was hoping for something good to end on. And we had a babysitter for the first time in months and I was determined to enjoy the night. Lol Twist let us down majorly. :/not only was the food bland, the place too loud to hear your date… but overpriced to boot. Go to their sister restaurant, Relish, instead.

One of my two favorite restaurants at Breckenridge. My wife had the shoulder steak and I ordered the short ribs. We also shared calamari. Everything was delicious and the servers were wonderful. All the locals recommended this place while we were visiting, and now I know why!

Rudest encounter I have ever had with a restaurant maître d, period. The host(said his name was Neil) was belligerent, condescending, and entirely unprofessional. Friday night, a group of five friends decided to call around to see if we could get a last minute reservation. As expected most restaurants were booked, but when we called Twist, the person we spoke to was accommodating and informed us no problem, come on in around 8:30pm. When we arrived, we went to the host stand and informed Neil that we had a reservation for 5 at 8:30. He asked for our name, and we informed him that the person we spoke to did not ask for a name but simply told us to come in at 8:30pm. In a mocking tone, Neil responds, «nice try buddy, didn’t happen». Thinking he was messing with us we asked if he was serious, to which he replied«I’m the only one here who takes reservations and that’s not the way we operate». We were completed dumbfounded by this interaction, and pressed him a bit on the issue and he basically dismissed us, insinuating to the other guests at the host stand that we were not worthy of his time. We even pulled up the phone number called on our cell to verify that we called the right restaurant, and he said«that’s our number, but we never spoke». No one in our group became confrontational, surprising given the interaction, but we certainly wanted to figure out what was going on and were in absolute shock by the way we were being treated. I do not know what happened when we called to make the reservation, or with whom we spoke. Regardless of how the mistake occurred, this should have been handled differently. Neil could have offered a simply apology and said«I’m very sorry, I am not sure what happened but we don’t have you down for tonight. Let me see if there is any way I can accommodate you.» Had he not been able to get us in we would have been disappointed but not insulted. I have been to the sister restaurant Relish several times and have always been blown away by the great service and quality of the menu. I have read many good things about this place, but unfortunately I will never be back.

A Breckenridge jewel not to be missed. Three of us shared: Curried Chowder Escargot Caesar Salad Lamb Ribs Pecan encrusted Trout Baked Alaska Every dish was superb: the masterful blending of complex flavors, brilliant execution and presentation. Our new favorite restaurant! The staff is attentive and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, some guests are very loud.

Been here twice. Delightful service. Delicious cuisine. As much as I hate to tell others about this restaurant – I just have to. So extraordinary to find good fresh, creative food in a mountain town(there, I said it). These guys do a great job. Portion sizes are Goldilocks – not too small, not too big, just right. The craft cocktail menu is spot-on and very reasonably priced. I can’t wait to go here again

FOOD I’m frequently wary of restaurants labeled«American(New)», because I’ve had poor experiences with these restaurants merely having uninspired, overpriced, small portion, but well-presented(pretty) dishes. However, the food was fantastic. Everything that our group ordered tasted delicious. It was clear that the dishes were well-thought-out, since they balanced flavors and textures. The beet goat cheese ravioli was delicious. The pasta tasted freshly-made, and the beets added a little bit of sweetness and great color. I could taste the freshness of the herbs in the sauce, which wasn’t overly heavy or creamy. The trout was nicely-prepared, but I thought that the squash purée was what made this plate. I’m not a huge dessert or sweets person, but a friend and I shared he chocolate chip waffle with sea salt caramel gelato, and it was divine. There was just the right amount of dark chocolate drizzled on the page for the amount of waffle, and the gelato was superlative. The sea salt flavor of the gelato came through without being overly salty, and the caramel was just the right darkness. The gelato was also the perfect creamy texture that’s often hard to find in the US. AMBIENCE Twist is in a two-floor Victorian, and it has a nicer-than-casual ambience, but doesn’t come off as uncomfortably«high class.» I think this is due to the fact that, while the place has«mood lighting» and white tablecloths, there’s still warm background noise of conversation(without it being too loud). SERVICE Fantastic, attentive service by a guy who seemed to sincerely want us to have a good dining experience.

Unilocalers, you have done it again. Thanks for guiding us to a great spot in Breckenridge that satisfied the pickiest of eaters in the family. We decided Happy Hour was the way to go, and it was perfect. We got there shortly after 4 pm and were seated immediately. The outdoor patio is lovely and cozy, and service was attentive and quick. We ordered three orders of the Jamaican Jerk pork tacos, three orders of the broccoli mac and cheese, the fries with aioli, the Poutine Twist Breck fries, wings, crab and artichoke dip, a cocktail, and beer on tap. The total? A very reasonable $ 69 before tip. The cocktail was a sake martini, and it was lovely. You could taste the smooth sake with a hint of the citrus from the orange peel. Perfect way to end another great day in Breck. My husband ordered a black IPA and enjoyed that as well. The crab and artichoke dip came out first, and my kids devoured the bagels chips with dip. I was worried we would either run out of chips or dip, but somehow my hungry crew made it all work out just fine. The dip is served room temperature, which makes it easier to snarf down. The tacos come 3 to a plate so we initially ordered two orders. The tacos are garnished with carrot red onion slaw, and again the kids really enjoyed these though I would’ve preferred more taste to the pork and slaw. The poutine!!! So, we fell in love with this Canadian gravy/sauce concoction a few years ago, and this version was spot on. The pork cheek gravy, egg, bacon and cheese spread over the fries made for a heavy but not too heavy addition to the meal. The wings were the least favorite of the plates, and I didn’t try them myself since I was too busy licking the poutine off of my plate. My husband and son said the wings were just OK. The Breck fries with with pepperoncini aioli were also delicious because who can say no to that aioli? Apparently not my family. The fries were a bit heavy on the sea salt, but that is more of a personal preference since I do not use a lot of salt in my cooking — too many family members with heart and blood pressure issues. Nothing too serious that gets in the way of Unilocaling. The winner was the mac and cheese. My one son avoided all the broccoli; he has a gift. But the rest of the family enjoyed the rich and flavorful cheese over the al dente mini shells. The dinner menu looked great, but not something I would bring my kids to. And after a day outdoors in the altitude Happy Hour hit the spot. It’s not on Main Street, which we preferred — quieter but not dead, less street noise, etc. Definitely worth revisiting on our next trip to Breck!

Delicious Food! The standouts– * Complimentary Chex Mix — I could eat this for days. They combine basic chex mix with nuts, butter, herbs, etc. I asked for a 2nd bowl. * Habanero Bacon Buffalo Double Decker Burger | $ 15 — Haystack Farms green chili, jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, brioche bun choice of house cut French fries or mashed potatoes — Good combo of ingredients. Bison + jack cheese is delicious. Encased in a brioche bun. Muah! * Western Slope Zucchini & Summer Squash Vermicelli | $ 8.50 — field greens, Caesar dressing, grana padano crisp — good dressing flavor, though the vegetables were drenched in it. Other popular dishes are the meatloaf and short ribs.

This was our best meal in Breck!(True, check out my review for the other top restaurants in Breck)(Also check out their sister restaurant, Relish(I’ve also reviewed)). As soon as we walked into the bright natural light filled front room we were in love. The décor is simple and bright. Looking out the front bay window is a picture perfect mountainous scene. We popped in a bit early(we were so hungry!) and made it for the last half-hour of their happy hour! Score! Did not even plan that! We stopped in at 5:30, it was quiet expect for one other table and a few seated a the bar. They do get busy later in the evening so always best to set a reservation. My boyfriend was all smiles as he sat down and learned of the happy-hour menu. He was all smiles again as we discussed the great beer menu. Further, the waitress we had was very knowledge able about the beer. We even got into a conversation about breweries in Denver we wanted to visit. We told her we could not locate one of them, and she gave us directions! My boyfriend kept smiling and exclaiming how this was his favorite place in Breck. I couldn’t agree more. OK, so we may have ordered way too much, between the happy hour menu and main menu. My boyfriend went big off the happy-hour menu with the Beet Salad and Crab Cakes. The Crab Cakes come two to a plate. They were gone before I could even reach for one. The Beet Salad was not exactly what he was expecting for a salad. It was mainly salad with some beet shaved on top. Still, the flavors mixed really well. I went with the soup of the day which was a lobster bisque like chowder with a cumin base and lobster roe. What a take on a bisque/chowder. It had a kick to(I loved it but I am not able to eat a ton of spice), but was all around great. I also, wanting to try something hearty, went with the Mac-N-Cheese. A Twist on normal Mac, the light tomato sauce gave it a slight pink color and mild flavor. I wish I could have tasted more garlic. Sadly, after a conversation about cheese(I absolutely cannot eat goat, blue or any stinky/moldy cheese. My mouth will not accept it), I learned that there was a possibility of some funk in the Mac. I went for it. Well, I also learned I do not particularly like Sheep’s milk cheese. While we discussed it was not as funky as goat and the other flavors and the Mac would mostly cover it up, I had too many bites that tasted t a little off to me and funky. Live and learn, right?! I was glad I tried and enjoyed the other flavors, but my boyfriend had to finish this one off. Next we shared the Ruby Red Trout. Yummy! Genius to have the fish covered in the lemon-pepper crust. Salty, juicy perfectly cooked fish fillets. Luckily, I got most of this dish because the boy had filled up on everything else! We sat and savored the flavors as we stared out the front picture window, literally looking at a picture perfect scene of mountains and snow sipping the last of our $ 5(happy hour) wine by the glass!

Delicious dinner. Great, quaint atmosphere in a house-like building. Was pretty quiet around 630 but is hopping at 8:15PM. We tried one of the specialty cocktails which was delicious and beer and wine, and enjoyed the meatloaf and red trout. The meatloaf was very good, but the red trout with forbidden rice is outrageous. What a delicious, enjoyable meal. PS — we also had the deviled eggs which were the nominal… Being from the south, where deviled eggs are a staple, I think that says a lot.

Happy hour 4 – 6 is awesome! See menus I posted! Super busy at 5pm. Sat at the bar-solo. Felt super comfortable. I had to try their Winter version of Amoretto Sour, not on the happy hour list, but I highly recommend. You know they say pasta will help with altitude sickness, so yes please to Mac n Cheese. Good portion. Nice consistency. Highly recommend. Also had the Devil Eggs. Creamy and oh wow amazing! Absolutely recommend and will be back next year! Wish the husband was with me so I could have ordered more food! :)

Sadly, their food was not great and the service took forever. It was my birthday and I painstakingly picked a place really wanting the best experience, and I’m pretty bummed it wasn’t what we would have wanted it to be. The mac and cheese was more macaroni and warm milk. My friends who got the the elk burger found it dry and strange. I got the lobster rolls which were kind of tasteless… They only redeptive part was the pork wings. They were excellent. Amazing flavor profile, perfectly cooked, and well balanced with the sauce.
