The food is just okay but pricey. The real problem is attitude. We checked in early for our reservation but had to wait almost 10 minutes while the hostess talked on the phone, and then there was no friendly greeting. It took forever to get our drinks and much longer than it should have for our cold entrees to arrive and then, just after our check for almost $ 300 for four arrived, the hostess had the temerity to tell us we needed to leave because people were waiting for our table.

This place is totally overrated. The food here is mediocre, and for the price its bad. I had the short rib taquitos which were mini tacos and not taquitos. They were bland. The new york strip was ok and at least cooked to the right temperature. The sides were not. The sweet potato has was under cooked. The brussels sprouts were flavorless.

Very hit or miss on the dishes. We went with a large group and half of the table Loved their food and half thought it was average. Adding more fish options would be great! Great service and beautiful ambiance!

Who says the reality series«Top Chef» has the top chef? A dining experience at Ember not only exemplifies some of the most creative winning dishes ever eaten, but the exotic ingredients and blend of flavors drives home the reason chef/owner Scotty is known as a true top chef. His ability to conceptualize creative menus and deliver extraordinary dishes is unbelievable. Every time we have eaten at Ember the professionalism of the kitchen, and front of the house staff, drives home why we keep coming back. It is no wonder this place is always jam packed with people seeking something truly culinary. The chef definitely steps out of the comfort zone of many diners because he wants to engage the mind and palate on an adventure. The menus change each season, and we were informed they are inspired by the chef’s worldly travels. The chef accommodated our vegetarian and Gluten-Free guests with astonishing beautifully plated food to which they remarked, «WOW»! The cous cous salad, and lamb cheeks were to die for. The veal roulade, quail, striped bass entrees were mouthwatering. We never visit Ember without getting the scallops so one person in our party got them and all night tried to figure out the sumac crust. Impossible, that is until we were personally introduced to the chef. What an amazing man. His personality and style are embedded in every aspect of his business. Our guests from Chicago who own a 5-star restaurant left saying it was the best meal they have eaten in a long time. They love ice cream and were blown away by the house made ice cream while our other guests wiped their plates clean of the cinnamon bread pudding and chocolate/peanut butter fudge cake. The ambiance is casually elegant, warm and very inviting. Cocktails are technically created with infused vodkas and various ingredients. The wine list is extensive with both domestic and international wines very reasonably priced, but we generally choose the Sauvignon Blanc Private Label Ember wine which is absolutely delicious. What a night it was! Looking forward to our next meal and bringing more guests with us. Breckenridge is most fortunate to have a restaurant that reaches new heights out of bounds.

The lamb was to die for and the conch with ice cream was a savory combo. The arepa was also quite nice. I love their unique fusion on foods I wouldn’t imagine putting together… And let’s not forget to leave out the jalapeño martini! Yummy!

Simply delicious! Unique flavor combinations made for an amazing meal. Went with friends and split up appetizers and entrees so we could all try a little bit of everything. The unique flavors were bold without being too crazy.

This was no accident to make a reservation here, given the resounding reviews on the trip advisor site. The restaurant is quaint and the server was very keen on the menu items. Each of us ordered something different, both on the Kindling and Blaze sections. None of us were taken by any of those dishes(Veal, Lazagna, NY Strip, Duck, or the Buffalo). The soup however was outstanding. Two of us ordered the Simple Salad. It was rather noisy that night, and when I ordered the Simple Salad, he heard Soup & Salad, and apparently repeated that back to me to which I agreed. Soup & Salad is not a single choice for an appetizer, so I guess he thought I was just really hungry. Also there are a couple of different Salads for which clarification was not requested. The Soup was then brought out to someone else, and then after all appetizers were properly placed, we recognized that there was an extra soup. The waiter(male) then remembered that I said Soup & Salad, and considered that a firm order, end of discussion. Fortunately, I guess, since the soup was indeed outstanding, that the person who did not order an appetizer enjoyed the soup. Won’t be going back to this one.

Embers has a true chef. The food is outstanding! Probably one of the best experiences we have had. They brought our kids to the kitchen and they had a ball!

It’s all about the dessert. Incredible cinnamon bread pudding with cappuccino mousse and a chunk of pork belly covered on sugar. Sick.

A very nice place, great ambience and excellent service. The food ranged from outstanding to good. In some ways I felt the chef was trying to mix too much into some dishes, when it worked it was excellent when it didn’t…well. But that’s the fun of this place. Try something different that you won’t find in other places. Appetisers — the lamb cheeks were a hit as were the short beef rib taquitos. The soup was interesting a combination of blueberry and duck, not the highlight of the night. Mains were solid. The buffalo was tough, the New York steak was great, the veal was very good, but the barramundi didn’t hit the spot(although the edamame guacamole was excellent). Desserts were another highlight with the chocolate pudding being outstanding and the cinnamon roll being very good. Although I’m not sure pork belly belongs on a dessert!

In short: the service was really great, but also really slow, and the food was not very impressive, especially for the price. We didn’t have a bad time, but I don’t think we will be returning. The service at Ember was extremely pleasant. They kindly held our table for us when we were running late and the waiter was very attentive. There was a mix-up with our appetizer and bill, but both were very quickly rectified by the staff. They generously offered two free appetizers due to the mix-up. However the service was rather slow. There was about 15 – 20 minutes before the appetizers arrived, then another 45 minutes before the entrees when we had ordered the appetizer and entrees simultaneously. My family and I really enjoyed the appetizers; we had the soup du jour, taco salad, and tacquitos(although I don’t know that I’d recommend the soup to everyone, it was rather an odd taste). We also ordered the bass, scallops, and lasagna. None of the food was bad or anything, but it also wasn’t memorable especially considering the cost.

Went here for my birthday dinner. Made reservations before making the trip out and I have to say I really liked the experience here and the ambience. The wait staff were great– welcoming, friendly, helpful. We got to sit in the front window which is what the host called«the best seat in the house.» It was cozy and not too loud, just where you’d want to be after a long day of being out in the cold. The only reason I don’t give this place more stars is that I was kind of hoping for the food to be something that it wasn’t. I guess I didn’t look too closely at the menu or maybe it wasn’t clear, but every dish seems to be Indian-inspired. It was tasty, don’t get me wrong, but I guess I had different expectations. I had the quail dish, which was served alongside spaghetti squash and a green salad. The quail was tender and cooked perfectly. The sauce served with it seemed to be vindaloo-esque which went nicely with the quail. My love got the scallops, also accompanied by the same spaghetti squash. He complained it had too much cinnamon and was overall too sweet of a dish. The flourless cake at the end was a delicious morsel of dessert though. It was rich and the tidbits of candied ginger were lovely. Also, the waitress recommended a nice bottle of wine for us when she discovered the one we originally wanted was no longer available. It turned out to be my favorite part of the meal! Just know that the dishes are very Indian-inspired and if you’re into that, you’ll love it.

Everything you read in the other reviews are true; Ember is an incredible dining experience… Also, if you or one of your guests requires gluten-free options; this establishment is knowledgeable and more than accommodating… A gluten-free diner will actually feel like they are not compromising; and can have a full 5 star experience like all the other reviewers cite! Having a family background in the restaurant industry; I’ll get to the point… This is one of the finest dining experiences I have had; in as long as I can remember… For an establishment of this genre to succeed, the owner/chef has to posses both; a love for people, and the intuition to serve up what people never knew they really wanted to try! On the surface, the menu is bold and irreverent; but as you review, the plate descriptions & ingredients, you are drawn into a unique scratch-cooked Colorado comfort-food palate of choices; that will make you want to come back to try what you did not order on your next trip… Incredibly tender meats with a mouthwatering presentation that includes savory sauces and and ingredients… Also noted that table placement is very strategic; with an obvious objective of offering enough space between tables to create both an intimate experience for diners; while offering wait staff more than ample room to attend to all without bumping into or violating their diners’ personal space… That being said, the physical environment can best be described as French-intimate; with a staff that can best be described as more upscale-metropolitan; with a genuine & sincere local Breckenridge demeanor… The people who work here, everyone, come-off as if they too are experiencing a sense-of-satisfaction with what they do and find joy in hearing compliments… Yes, martinis here are wonderful too; the Beet Martini? Off the charts unique and tasty! Other details: –These guys don’t open till 4:00, so I left a voicemail to get reservations and Max, was prompt in getting back to me to set time; table was ready immediately and restaurant packed… –You can also book via Open-Table, but recommend making reservations directly… –Erica was our waitperson and knew every detail of every dish; very impressive… –Took a peak at kitchen; clean, organized and saw how focused and organized the cooking staff is; this place will never-ever be on Chef Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares; this place should be on Anthony Bourdain’s bucket list! Highly recommend!

Nice, eclectic menu and great ambiance. This restaurant in a converted house is a tad pricey, but we had a nice meal and I’d recommend this place for a nice night out(with your wife, girlfriend, whatever) versus being a regular staple. On the night we went, I opted for a buffalo tenderloin and the wife had quail. Both were very well cooked and flavorful — I like green leafy veggies so was pleased with the chard served alongside my meat. If there was one negative, it was that the spaghetti squash served with the quail was a bit too sweet and neither I or my wife could finish it. We had homemade passion fruit ice cream for desert — very bright and tasty, chocked full of nuts and fruity bits. Our server was super friendly and professional too.

My husband and I were visiting Breck for a quick, 24 hour getaway from Denver. Our reservation was at 8:30 pm, but we were starving after a long drive and some brief sight seeing, and they were able to seat us around 7:45 on a quiet Thursday night. I selected Ember for dinner because of their delectable looking menu… and boy am I glad I did! The food is absolutely exquisite! Since this was a special occasion, and my husband and I are such foodies and like to try as much as possible… we started by sharing the Lobster Ramen with watermelon radish, edamame, and yuzu broth appetizer… YUM!!! We were starving after waiting forever, but I’ll get to that later. Next, I ordered the Monkfish with yucca gnocchi, mango chutney, clams, and key lime and coconut broth. Well, let me just tell you, that flavor combination is like a party in your mouth! I love the way it tantalized the senses and my taste buds!!! Seafood in Colorado can be hit or miss, even in some of the more renowned restaurants, and this was a total hit! My husband had the Duck Breast with confit tabbouleh, a honey goat cheese salad, and fig-kombocha vinaigrette. That confit tabbouleh with the duck was just heavenly! I am only giving four stars because of our service for most of the evening. Have you ever seen the insurance commercial with the little kids? That’s how my husband and I felt for most of the evening. When we were seated, we probably waited about 15 minutes to order a drink, and maybe another 10 – 15 before they were brought to the table(which, by the way, were delicious! I had the Pearmintini, and my husband had a seasonal pumpkin ale) Also, she didn’t bring us the Papadum that had been brought to every other table around us. Finally, when I was delirious from hunger after 30 minutes of waiting to get a drink, I finally asked her to bring us the bread or whatever everyone else had. She mentioned that it was Papadum, but in a tone that made me feel like an idiot. I eat every type of food on the planet, so I’m familiar with Papadum. She kind of made us feel like awkward 15 year old high schoolers on a first date… I don’t know how else to describe it, but that toddler commercial is pretty damn accurate, lol. That is… until it was time for desert, and our server brought us the desert menu. Once she did, we mentioned we were celebrating my birthday, and her demeanor changed completely! She became friendly and talkative, even comping my dessert! She went from treating us like a couple of ignorant children to best friends… It was a nice turn around, and we will definitely be back. Speaking of the dessert — I know you will be so full from the unbelievably delicious entrees, but do yourself a favor and order the Butterscotch and Sea Salt Gooey Coffee Cake with cinnamon syrup and coco nib whipped crème. WHOANELLY!!! A simple description can’t to it any justice, but this was the absolute highlight of the meal! It was just the right size for the two of us to share, since we were very full, only about 3 bites each. We sure did make the most of it… it absolutely sang when it hit our tongues!!! Despite the rough patch with the service to start, this restaurant really shines in terms of creative and delectable entrees, as well as ambiance! We will definitely visit again!!!

Food was excellent! We had the lettuce wraps and pork belly appetizers which were amazing. It was a chilly evening and I drank the Apple Pie hot drink. I then had the pork tenderloin and my friend has the shrimp. Everything was excellent we will be back!

Our family made our annual trip to Breckenridge last week. We usually cook most nights, as eating out with 17 people(7 kids!) Is a little pricey. But some of the family left early for other events so 9 of us went to Ember Friday evening June 252015. Our server was Amber-she did a great job taking care of our crazy table & was very pleasant, helpful. We ordered 2 appetizers — the soft shelled crab slider w/cricket guacamole… we loved it! It was unique but delicious. The antelope lettuce wraps were equally scrumptious although i only got a tiny taste! I ordered the shrimp with chorizo stuffed piquillo peppers, artichoke guac-darn delicious:) 2 of our party got the pork loin & loved it, another the beef ribeye(very very good). The monkfish was ordered and devoured as well. We splurged & ordered a single butterscotch & seasalt gooey coffee cake… to die for! All in all — a great experience at a local eatery in Breckenridge who knows how to treat customers(especially ones with small children!) We will return next time we are in Breck!

Awesome restaurant and experience. You definitely need reservations. The atmosphere is small but very inviting. Our waiter, Parker, was the best waiter I have had in a long time… which says a lot considering how much I eat out traveling. We started with cocktails, had a great bottle of French wine and ended with a couple of their very creative specialty cocktails. Food — we shared the soup of the day(green chili chicken) and simple salad. Both wonderful. We shared the NY steak and it was cooked perfect and they, of course, split it for us. Can’t wait to go back next time I am in Breck!
