Made a special trip just to try this place out and I’m glad we did(though my belly fat is cursing me for it). Located literally right next to the AMC theater, this bakery is very small(no seats) but they have more than enough of a selection of pastries and baked goods. DH has a big sweet tooth while I’m more of a savory kind of gal and my eyes were drooling looking at all the deliciousness before me. There were about 10 things I wanted but we settled for the following: — Chococo mousse cake– no comment from me other than it was beautifully presented since this looked too sweet for my taste. In fact, first thing DH said when he tasted it was, «Ooh, that’s sweet.» — Apple Cake — A cross between a dense sponge cake and vietnamese tapioca cake. Very generous portion(half a slice would have been more than enough). Sweet but not overly so, and not rich. One thing I disliked was they sprinkled sugar on top, which I felt was unnecessary taste-wise but also the sand-like texture of grainy sugar is a bit offputting to chew. — French Flan — this looked simple but is the exact kind of thing I enjoy. They call it flan but it reminds me more of an egg custard pie(not that I’ve ever had a custard pie). Not too rich, not too sweet, wonderfully eggy. Pretty basic and maybe not everyone would care for it, but I prefer that kind of pastry to most of the other über sweet ones. — Ham & cheese croissant — well, it’s a croissant with ham and melted cheese. It was good, rich, and buttery, exactly like what you’d expect it to be. We had it toasted. Some of the cheese had oozed out and hardened around the croissant, and that part was the bomb. Total price came out to be $ 20 which sounds expensive for a few pieces of pastries, but an average of $ 5 a pop for the quality hand-baked goods we got seems more than fair, especially considering the portions of a few of them. I’m not a huge fan of traditional sweets like tarts, eclairs, and macarons, so I appreciate the unique items offered here like the apple cake and flan, which I’ve never really seen anywhere else and certainly wouldn’t expect in a town like Brentwood. I was bummed when Anderson’s Bakery closed down years ago but Dore seems to be the next best thing, if not better.(Although this location did not have the variety of fresh breads that Anderson had.) Definitely recommend and will certainly be back(although for my gut’s sake, I hope not too often). Service was spot on as well, friendly and efficient.

We’re pretty much regulars here, especially when it’s a Monday and their first original location is closed. It’s a bit pricey especially if you go with your whole family(easy $ 50 each time) but it is well worth every penny. Everything is made fresh,(their bread– OMG!) and basically the best desserts in Brentwood period.

Cute little shop right by the movie theatre. I stopped by late, they were almost closed but the staff were kind and patient. Which would be hard since my dad was with me and he takes a long time to decide on what to get. Ended up with a chocolate tart, blueberry tart and an assortment of macarons. The tarts were good, pretty flavorful but not something I have to have again. Macarons were yummy but again nothing stands out. Will give this place a try next time I’m over at the movies since I love macarons but not gonna rush over any time soon.

Warning: if you are trying to lose weight stay away. The focus is on absolutely scrumptious pies, cakes etc and I am sure they are all bad for your diet. They do have some bread too and it is excellent. And the beauty is it is literally a mom and pop operation. The lady who served us said that her husband was the baker. Kudos to Streets of Brentwood for being willing to take local businesses as tenants.

The macaroons and Napoleon were tremendous my wife and I are excited to go back! Next time we go to the movies I will definitely go this Dore up for all my sweet treats before heading into AMC.

I happen to like this location than the one on Brentwood Blvd; nicer staff and they actually have Macarons in the display! And they’re in a convenient location – right next to the AMC theaters and Mel’s. Go Check them out! the pastries are all yummy. we have already tried one of each :)

We have been coming to Dore’s for their pastries. We decided to order a cake for my husband’s 50th birthday party. The cake was a strawberry cake with Meringue. The cake was awesome. The presentation was absolutely beautiful and the taste was fantastic. We had about 70 people and we ordered a full sheet. There wasn’t very much cake left over and our guests were quite impressed. I would recommend Dore’s for any occasion. You won’t be disappointed.
