IHOP

This IHOP is very small, but efficient. The service is on par with that of other IHOP’s in the area. You can make a reservation in advance on Unilocal (for those busy Sundays) and you can order pickup in advance as well.
The food was the same as at any IHOP, as were the drinks and prices.
With a Check In, you receive 15% off your meal.

Poor. Always with the manager, he stands looking confused and has no leadership capabilities. The staff is a reflection of him, they all suck

My service was good, and Joseph, my server was good. My issue was when I was having my breakfast, I witnessed 2 Servers digging in their heads and another one playing in another Server’s hair… not a good look, especially when you’re handling someone’s food.

I hadn’t visited an IHOP since I was a young child. It became a tradition with Grandma, and every time was a fantastic experience that created warm memories. Today, now in my 30’s, I was invited by a business partner of mine to experience what he deemed, «the world famous IHOP of Bladensburg!» Why not. 100% glad I did. Easy parking in a convenient and clean parking lot. The exterior of the building was clearly well taken care of. And that was just the outside… My favorite part about inside the establishment was the staff: Miss Dionne greeted our group with a smile, tended to us in a timely fashion, and made us feel right at home. Every staff member along our stroll to our table said ‘good morning’ and asked us how we were doing– a gesture hard to come by these days. The food reminded me of my childhood– the same awesome chocolate chip pancakes were available on a professional and hip new menu, but I chose to go with the crepes with a side of eggs and bacon. Great choice. Today was a wonderful experience and I’m proud of the staff and the way in which the Bladensburg IHOP was run. Well done!

Every time my friends and I come here there is an issue. Sometimes they are out of certain foods, food may not be cooked all the way, waiter/​waitress is rude and is not very attentive. This particular time we attempted to order the tilapia. The waitress said they didn’t have any spinach. We asked if we could have broccoli instead. She left to ask her manager who was sitting in the room across from us. The manager was very very loud and rude when responding to the waitress telling her that we could not substitute the broccoli. We asked why not? The manager started fussing and making faces at us. My friend decided to get the tilapia without the bed of spinach and without broccoli. I attempted to order the Turkey Bennie with 1 cinnamon brioche French toast. The waitress went to ask the manager of that was possible and looked straight at me with the most disgusting face telling her no. When the waitress returned with the answer (that I overheard as she was sitting just a few feet from us), I just said ok and took the order as is (with 2 French toast). At every IHop I have been two they have been able to accommodate my request but since the manager clearly was upset. I just agreed to whatever they could make.
The manager on the other hand, who was pregnant and sucking on chicken bones, was starring at us mumbling to another employee. I couldn’t believe how unprofessional she was behaving so I proceeded to take a picture. She noticed my action and decided to pose for the camera. I really wish I could have gotten a video because her behavior was out of control!
And then the food came… My friend received her order and I only received half of mine. The waitress said she forgot and quickly went to put it in. I ate the French toast since there was a long wait for my Turkey Bennie. When it arrived the avocado was as hard as a rock and the Turkey was very dry (Good thing I had 2 French toast because I could not eat the bennie). The waitress came over and kept apologizing but naturally we left her no tip. I asked her for the survey because they have a habit of taking them back so that people can’t fill them out but thank got for Unilocal!
Don’t go there. They suck 99.9% of the time. There is never a wait… but I’m sure you can imagine why…

Great service every time we go. Even my 5 yr old daughter asked to go there for her birthday. We wanted to take her to chuck e cheese thinking she would enjoy it more. We are to Blessed to have server Dionne any time we go. We have been to other locations and service has not made us want to go back.

Typical IHOP. Actually it was a lot nicer than the last time I recall being there close to a decade ago. Then again, this location burned down and was rebuilt. Maybe the management changed hands because it was awful back in the days. LOL. The service staff members were very pleasant to my daughter and made her smile. Food was good. This IHOP does well on things that IHOP restaurants should do.

Ok I very rarely give 2 stars. I’m really not that hard to please but with my last visit i had to remove a star. First of all I usually meet my mom at this restaurant because it’s closer to where she lives. It’s always crowded especially on Saturday and Sunday’s. Upon entering you get a ticket and wait for your number to be called. Ok that wait wasn’t to long but the waitress just couldn’t get my order right. I asked for potatoes and received hash browns. I never got my bread till the meal was almost over. I asked for decaffeinated coffee and received coffee with caffeine. I know this because I was unable to sleep last night. They need to be careful and please listen to your customers Is that to much to ask.

We were seated waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the back room.
I think the servers forget about you once they seat you back there.
My waffle was a little over cooked with my chicken and waffle meal.
I dared NOT send it back because it took 45minutes to get or order to us. Table for 2!
my sister and I decided to eat here instead of eating at church. Man! we were almost late for service messing with ihop — and the church is down the street.
I will NEVER come here if I am in a rush! I don’t think they understand the meaning of RUSH or refill

If I could give this place negative stars I would. The whole time we were there the place was almost completely empty but it took us 20 minutes to get our order taken. On 2 seperate occasions we went to the front desk and said we were ready to order and nothing happened. They were socializing with each other and were sitting down and eating. We were finally served because we had to walk them over to us. The were VERY rude and NEVER again will I come here. The manager gave us discount for terrible service.

Service is extremely slow greeter wasnt at the desk when We arrived took her 10 min to appear after We were seated our waitress arrives takes our order for drinks took a few min to come when our drinks arrived My Mother inlaw had requested water with lemon, no lemon been sitting now 23 min no refills, hope it gets better with the food other wise I will not b paying, hold for end result…
Ok so the food came & it was great, the server needs to work on Her customer service skills she literally threw the plates on the table, if I come back here I will not have her as a server, her name is Erma

this place is hit or miss. if you go on the weekend, you will have a longer wait to be seated and have to deal with the crowd, but the service and food is much better than if you go on a random weekday. i went yesterday and my daughter and i finished our whole meal and took a bathroom break before my husband received his pancakes. our food just wasnt great. i’d rather return on the weekend, the food is always hot and fresh

I only go here for pancakes, it’s about the only thing they get right. I live close by but tend to skip this location and head to Denny’s in NE, DC for «brinner» (breakfast for dinner).
The servers bicker about the place to each other while serving customers (I experienced this on many occasions). One server in particular is off the hook! Always talking loud, yelling at the kitchen staff, complaining. I don’t think she’s a manager but it’s very off putting.
One time I asked for ketchup. The server (possibly new) said I don’t think we have ketchup. I was thinking, um you might want to go check on that. What restaurant doesn’t carry ketchup?
I’ve had servers hover over me once they give you the check and ask how much you are going to tip them — really? You get the feeling that some of the servers are pipeheads.
I’ve had checks with wrong amounts that no one seemed to know how to fix at the register. No one seems to know what they are doing at this location. Go to a different location or head to Denny’s.

This in no way is a reflection of how I feel about IHOP and its food because I do love my pancakes. But on this night Me and my family went here on a Tuesday about 8pm the IHOP was not busy. We were left standing at the entrance before we were greeted for about 8 mins all the while a worker was at the to go register and didnt greet us. After my boyfriend had to ask her if anyone was going to seat us she took it upon herself to do so. We werent personally given the menus she just put them in the middle of the table. We wanted steak tips and eggs and she told us there were no steak. My food came back too salty and and my daghters food was dry. Over all I will not ever visit this IHOP again. Ill be going to 14^th st.

The perfect place to grab breakfast after a long Sunday morning service. Love the new décor and renovation job that was done after the terrible fire some years ago.
I make it my business to sit in the section of my favorite waiter, Justin. He is fast, thorough and very attentive to his customers. Always willing to fix an order that may not meet our expectations.
Really good cooks in the back as well.

I visited on a Sunday night around 7 pm and the restaurant had only several customers. We were seated quickly and the waitress took our order. I was amazed at how fast our food was brought to us. Im sure this was due to there being hardly any customers in the restaurant, but even so, it seemed as one several minutes passed after we order that our food arrived. The quality of the food was equally comparable to any other IHOP. However, once we received our food, the waitress never came back. The next time she came back was to give us our check. She never checked if we needed any refills or napkins. This is the only reason I gave this place three stars. I would have given it five if we received better service from the waitress.

Food was on point today, but and there always is a but!!! It was a family with a little boy who just kept running back and fourth, up and under the table next to us, kicking my leg and once he did sit down for a second he was playing a Nintendo game of some sort making Hella noise! I couldn’t even enjoy my pancake stacks with «all» the trimmings! Da*m they ruined my breakfast.

Apparently the first ihop here burned down. A shiny new version of it had their grand opening about 5 weeks ago.
It probably deserves it, but I can’t give it a 5^th star on GP. It’s an IHOP.
I’ve eaten here twice now. Once at 3am and once at 11am. Both visits were solid. Speedy seating (even the 11am on a Saturday morning), two different servers, both were speedy and the food came out fast and accurate.
Both times, it was packed with folks chowing down. But then, there aren’t a lot of alternatives in this area.
Scrungy part of town, but this place is clean. Recommended.
