If you’re looking for a casual meal of good eats and brews, Murff’s fits the bill! In search of a spot for lunch with a friend in the Brentwood area, we found this place. The menu features American pub fare including sandwiches, salads, sliders, and burgers. We both went with the ‘Five Step’ Burger that allowed us to build our burger the way we wanted it. For me? Single patty, jalapeño cheddar roll(awesome), ground steak(they also have turkey and chicken), no cheese, and jalapeños, lettuce and tomato. It comes with housemade chips on the side, or you could substitute another side for an extra charge. I stuck with the chips! Our burgers came out quickly and were really darn good! It was juicy but not too messy. We both ate every last bite. The chips were fresh and addictive. I didn’t miss fries at all. Service was very friendly and my bill came to only $ 10 since I stuck to water. All in all, the place is pretty no frills. There are lots of tables with chairs, a bar area with seats and a TV, a jukebox and some area to hangout. I don’t frequent the city so don’t know if I’ll have the chance to go back, but wouldn’t be shy to send others there!

Worst restaurant in metro Nashville? Quite possibly. I have no idea how this place has a 4-star rating. Let me preface by saying that I consider myself a foodie and I generally critique restaurants more critically than other people might. 6÷3÷169:00PM: Red flag #1: The three of us decided on Murff’s after another place we stopped had already closed the kitchen. We walked in and stood around for a few minutes and was never greeted or sat at a table. There was no one at the hostess stand and no servers on the floor to greet customers, so we ended up seating ourselves. We were one of maybe 5 tables in the whole restaurant. Red flag #2: The server finally came out of the back and to our table after quite some time. We confirmed with our server(affectionately known on the receipt as «PM B») this it was happy hour. The specials board and specials list on the tables read that wine, shots and cocktails were $ 1 off from 9-close. The server proceeded to tell me they didn’t have cocktails, to which I inquired about the list of cocktails I was holding in my hand. She seemed dumbfounded and told me that it only applied to cocktails like vodka tonic, etc. I ended up ordering a double vodka and soda with 3 limes. My cocktail arrived in a rocks glass(small glass) and I couldn’t even taste the vodka. Being that this is my go-to cocktail at bars, I’m quite familiar with how this drink should taste. There is no way that there were two shots in my cocktail. Our waitress also incorrectly served one of the people in our groups a double vodka and soda, even though she asked for a single — we didn’t find this out until our check came. She weighs about 130 lbs(I weigh 270) and, after two rounds of double vodkas, neither one of us felt any sort of buzz from either drink. Not to mention a single shot of vodka is $ 5.50?! Are you kidding me? $ 11 for a double vodka in Brentwood? It’s cheaper on Broadway! Red flag #3: Ordered the hot chicken wrap. Let me tell you, when it comes to wraps, this may be the biggest joke I’ve ever seen. I actually wish I had taken a picture of it. It came out in a stiff, cold tortilla shell; a tortilla shell that was much too big for the amount of filling they put in. The chicken seemed like it was precooked and barely reheated chicken strips, iceberg lettuce and unmelted shredded cheddar cheese with some blue cheese dressing. Maybe it was because we ordered 30 – 45 minutes before closing, but it was lukewarm, flavorless and unappetizing. By the time we were able to flag down our waitress in this not-so-busy restaurant, I had eaten over half my meal. The waitress never asked how our food was or if we wanted anything else. We had to ask for water — even though we were eating spicy food and drinking alcohol less than an hour before closing time. Red flag #4: Our waitress never returned to pick up our cards to pay. We had to go to the bar and have her run them from there. While waiting, it appears that the«owner”/“manager» had a kid there that may have been his son. They were doing push-ups and sit-ups in front of the door in the middle of the dining room with multiple tables still«enjoying» their meals. This was encouraged by a woman sitting at the bar(a wife/gf?) and didn’t seem to be out of the ordinary for the rest of the bar staff. Extremely unprofessional and trashy. Overall, this place is a joke. I have no idea how it remains open with their overpriced and under-poured cocktails, abysmal food and incompetent staff starting at the top. I will never be back and I encourage you to stay away as well.

I went to Murff’s because of all the good reviews… The place was packed when I got there, so I thought I hit the jackpot. WRONG. When I walked through the front door, the smell hit me in the face. It smelled like a musty old trailer. Nobody else seemed to notice, but it grossed me out. I was super hungry, so I decided to stay and have a beer and a burger. The Son of a Peach ale was good – fruity and easy drinking. The sliders were juicy and tasty. The onion rings seemed to be home made and could have been good, but they were saturated with oil. Unfortunately, I will not be back.

Cute little local joint. The burgers were pretty good but the onion rings and homemade chips were bomb.

This was a very cool, small, family owned spot. The brother of the owner sat and talked to us a while, giving us some of the back story. Loved the authenticity. The burgers were awesome. Juicy and tender. We recommend the hot pepper cheese, which was legitimately hot. They onion rings were perfectly beer battered and crispy. They had all craft beers on tap. The Murffs Nashville light is comparable to any light beer you may be accustomed to. I would definitely return next time I’m down this way.

From the outside of the restaurant, you wouldn’t expect too much — I know we didn’t but we’re glad we came. Our burgers and beers warrant 4STARS alone. Solid beer suggestions from the waitress and the burgers were mouthwatering. Maybe the best we’ve every had(likely due to the quality of the meat, which was perfectly cooked). Topped with smoked cheddar on a jalapeño bun, added bacon and grilled onions/mushrooms, it was had me thinking about it days after the last bite. Would of given Murff’s the 5th star, but the service(despite being super friendly) was a bit slow and they forgot our fries — neither were a major detriment to the experience. Would had liked to try the BBQ potato wedges, but they didn’t have the BBQ pork. The floor was oddly sticky, which might just be part of the charm of the place. As gross as it was at first, I won’t hold it against my rating of Murff’s.

Lots of places claim it… but this is really the best burger in town. Hand pattied and packed full of flavor(from family recipe seasoning). Great craft beer choices. You have to try the baby burgers and a Murffs Amber. Seriously… Murffs Amber is amazing.

Found this place via Unilocal and glad I did. This is an honest, local, American pub. If you are looking for a bland, corporate cookie cutter place, this is not it! Plenty of soul, great food/beer and amazing staff :)

Cleanliness seems to be an issue. First visit, food was decent and beer was good, service was slow and the bathroom was disgusting. Told the server how gross it was and got a passing apology. Possible bad day. Second chance visit, crusty stuff on the rim of both of our water glasses(replacements were super luxurious styrofoam cups) and the bathrooms still looked like a frat house after a party — filthy toilet, gross walls and floor, broken glass in framed picture, cabinets in disrepair. If this is how the public side looks, I can’t imagine what the kitchen looks like. Told server again. Zero care given. Won’t be back.

Looks like a dive from the outside but don’t let that scare you! Best smoked wings I have ever had! Everyone is pleasant and accommodating. I had the smoked chicken salad which was an awesome salad that I didn’t even need dressing. My husband had a double burger with smoked cheddar and the bite I had made me quite jealous :)

This place is a somewhat hidden jewel in Brentwood. I hope that people find it and support it. I do not usually write reviews but the hamburger was as good as any you will find ANYWHEREANYTIME. We were waited on timely and by at least 2 or more of the Murphy brothers. I was told that 6 of the 7 were on site today. The story of this family and the obvious closeness that Murff must have created lives on with the kindness and the obvious family ties that exist for them all to be on hand this Sunday. They were right on top of the customers with attention and some stories of their childhood and Murff. The place was 80– 90% full with families. It is a throwback feeling of great food and family service. I see a few critical reviews but discount them greatly. Like any social media the unhappy often spend a lot of time and effort to voice their beef. Read the 5 stars to get a pretty good feel for what you will experience!

I had no idea this place was here. I remembered that this used to be Phillip’s Delicatessen. I always enjoyed that place, but I knew this place was vacant for a while. We were in the area and looked on her for something with a patio. The rating was well and it said it had outside seating. We arrived around 12:30pm on Saturday. We quickly noticed that the ‘outside patio/seating’ was 4 iron tables placed next to the parking lot. We decided to sit inside and eat. There is a notice on the front door that they love cash, but will also take credit. We were greeted and told to sit wherever we wanted. The service was fast and friendly. We ordered the hot chicken tenders with fries and blue cheese and a burger. They’ve got a 5 step burger where you pick what kind of burger, single, double, etc, then the bun, cheese, toppings, and the like. We got the single, with a jalapeño bun, provolone cheese, chipotle mayo and bacon. The decorations in the place aren’t that all that fancy. On the air return by the bathroom, there are some auto air fresheners clipped to it. They’ve got some golf clubs stuck on the wall. It’s a very casual vibe, and most of the people there while we dined we younger people and people with kids. We got the food about 10 minutes after ordering. I was surprised with the amount of chicken that came with the hot chicken tender basket. It cost 9 bucks and came with 5 tenders. A lot of places will only give you 3 – 4 tenders for that price. I thought the chicken was okay. I didn’t find it very hot. The blue cheese they have tastes very much like ranch, maybe they gave me ranch. I liked the fries, crispy and had a little cajun on it. The fries are like the kind they’ve got at Penn Station, if you need the comparison. The burger was cooked well done. They didn’t ask how we wanted it cooked when ordering, so maybe next time we will ask for medium. The flavor of the meat was good, but I would’ve preferred a burger less done. The jalapeño bun is spicy. It was hotter than the hot chicken if that tells you anything. I didn’t hate anything about the lunch, but I didn’t love anything about it either.

A great location, cozy, not crazy loud. Nice TVS to watch the game. We’re sitting here at 8:08 pm. The menu looks good, lots of beers. There are about 40 people here. We ordered after waiting about 15 minutes. It’s been over an hour. Not even a drink refill. No sign of our waiter at all. Another beer, please? Or even that water I ordered with it? This burger meal may actually take 2 hours… I may go refill my drink myself. This is pathetic. The food came at the one hour twenty mark. The onion rings were pretty good. The burger was cooked so long the meat crumbled like a Taco Bell taco. The smoked cheddar was a narrow strip that didn’t melt — it was kind of hard like a thick piece of carrot. I went to 6 tables until I found ketchup — to hold the hamburger crumbles together. The jalapeño bun was fantastic. The food was eaten quickly and the bill came quickly. There’s no way I can give even a 3– star«Meh» this trip :(

A local joint that had a lot of character. I met a group of locals here for the first time and it was by far one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten. I had the double with just about everything on it. It was delicious. My only complaint is that the Odor of the restaurant when I walked in wasn’t very good and the bathroom was out of order(hope they weren’t related) but whenever I’m in town, I’m coming back.

Great local dive/bar that is tucked behind Nippers Corner and Maryland Farm area of Brentwood. A family run restaurant has been in this location for as long as I can remember and this is the latest to own it. Their menu is filled with all your favorite bar food. A lot of them have a family or local twist, keeping them from being a repeat of the chains. Made fresh to your order. The bar is simple, but the beer selection caters to everyone’s taste(about 50 different varieties). For the person who wants to conquer a burger, you can get one with 4 patties(the homerun). Good luck.

Have wanted to try this place for a while and finally did. It was great and I will certainly be back. The atmosphere is nice with large TV’s everywhere and it’s very clean. I got a burger and homemade chips which were excellent. They have an amazing beer selection with tons of local brews. The bartender let me try a few different options which I enjoyed.

Great addition to the Brentwood area! From build your own burgers to fried pickles you will not be disappointed. I chose the buffalo chicken sliders and my husband went with the Nash-philly…both great! One of the best draft beer selections in Brentwood. Must try the Blackstone Red Trail Ale(mimicking the trail at Percy Warner, hilarious, if you’re a Nashville native you’ve gotten lost on that trail once or twice. every time). Loved the chicken sliders, they left my tongue on FIRE!

So my wife says, «Hey, let’s go to Murff’s because I need a cheeseburger and fries but everywhere near us has over-the-top, craft burgers with free-range quail eggs, avocado and weird aioli sauces, and I just want a normal burger.» So I’m like, «They have beer. Okay.» I was not disappointed! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meat on my build-your-own burger. I went with a single patty, French bread, cheddar cheese and a whole lot of add-ons: grilled onions and mushrooms, jalapenos, lettuce, tomato, etc. The burger was cooked perfectly and was sooo juicy. I upgraded to the onion rings for only $ 1, and my wife went for the fries. When I go back, I will go with the fries b/c they are the crispy, hand-cut fries, which are my favorite. The onion rings were good but a bit greasy. *Yes, I know onion rings are deep fried in oil.* I would also go for the regular bun next time b/c the French bread was a bit chewy. Not bad, just had a little bite to it. They’ve really grown their beer selection as well over the past few months, so it was easy choosing a beer to compliment my burger. Some lady was pissed b/c she couldn’t get a cranberry and vodka, so if you crave cranberry and vodka with your burger, sorry, you’re out of luck. You’ll have to settle for beer like a normal person.

FOOD: + + + + Tasty! VALUE: $ $ $ $ Single Burger under $ 10. SERVICE: + + + + No wait time on a Saturday night. Servers were attentive. Only«issue» was that they were out of several beers that we wanted. VIBE: Low-key local bar kinda feel. Expect families with small children.
